I'm sorry to hear you don't like the Premier Protein shakes. I love them and have started my day off with one since I had my Mini Gastric Bypass in Tijuana April 23rd, 2014 and that was 127 lbs ago.
I find the chocolate shakes to be a bit too "chocolatey" for me so I Water them down with about 4 oz of skim milk or plain old Water. They are much more like chocolate milk then. Try adding flavouring to them like cinnamon or vanilla.

YES YES YES I'd do it in a heartbeat and MY ONLY regret is not having it done sooner (I'm 53 and have been overweight since I was 13)! So much so that I don't remember ever in my life being this happy and feeling so healthy and energetic and good!
I've had a REALLY good outcome since day one. I walked 30 minutes after returning to my hospital room from my surgery and didn't feel any pain at all, only minor discomfort due to gas -- which walking helped tremendously, more than anything and I did so every 2 hours -- even at nights. I am down 73 lbs, 8 months out, am a size 10 pants (I have NEVER been a size 10 before) and loving my life.
Good luck, stay positive, stay excited and follow your doctors advises to a T. Keep us posted.

@QueenieB Calm down. Trust me, I know what you mean. I am 7 days post op. I was in regret mode the minute I got wheeled into my room in the hospital after surgery. I felt like I did something terribly to hurt myself as punishment for being fat. How can I do this to myself, blah blah blah.
It will subside, I promise. I am okay now...everyday it gets a little better. Do I wish I can have a nice big plate of food like by boyfriend does? You bet! But then I remember how miserable and shameful I was before and you know....you get over it. You really do. With time, your belly will heal and you will be able to increase your food intake a little more.
Think of your stomach as being a newborn baby tummy. Brand new and you have to nurse it, teach it, and take care of it.
    Keep in touch.

@@mi75 I totally understand. I have been stalled for quite a while. I just really started to get back into this and started an at-home exercise regime---old fashioned gym class! lol. Toe touches, jumping jacks, push ups, squats, kettle bell, adding in a little dancing and then running in place for about 15 minutes. And then begin much more careful with what I ate and i lost 2 pounds the other day!! So, it just shows that I had been slacking off in exercise and food plan.

Thanks for keeping us up to date. I know stalls can be frustrating. But you are doing the right thing by recommitting to your exercise and diet plan.
Hang in there, you can do it. Small steps, doing the right things, all add up. This is your time to shine.

All this worry will be a thing of the past 5 minutes after you wake up from your WLS! And 7 days after you won't even remember you had surgery and 1 month later, you'll know this was the BEST decision ever! You're going to be healthier and lighter and feel soooo good! Just look forward to this with excitement, not fear. Good luck, stay positive and you'll love it, guaranteed!

Stand down from panic...Your body needs a break sometimes. Stalls are perfectly normal.
Here are few suggestions for you -
STOP WEIGHING EVERY DAY - it's counter-productive. There are so many things that affect your weight from day-to-day. My husband took the scale away from me and brought it out once a week; that was a life-saver.
Take your measurements - chances are you're losing inches, even if you aren't loosing according to the evil scale. I lost 7 inches during a stall where the scale said I stayed the same.
Take pictures - full body pictures. You you will the change in your face and body, even if the scale hasn't changed.
Continue following your doc's plan for diet and exercise - control what you can and that's what goes in your mouth and how much you move your body. Your body will release the weight when it's ready and sometimes that is much slower than your brain wants it to.
You're going to be just fine...relax.

My advice is to not stock pile anything. Your tastes in food usually change dramatically after surgery. I had to get an unflavored medical whey Protein isolate powder from my doctor because regular Protein Powder shakes made me gag. Your nutritionist will give you guidelines on what to eat and when. Listen to your body and good luck

I go to a place called 9round fitness. It's defianately kickboxing. Started 4 weeks post op and go 5 times per week. I love it. Much better than the traditional gym. Everyone is there to work out. No TVs, no snack bar, no socializing. I pull up, walk in, work hard and I'm outta there in about 30 minutes. May not be for everyone but it was right for me. Down about 72 lbs. since my surgery October 8. Happy with the results so far. Good luck

If it's truly just gas pains, then yes it's common. Best thing you can do besides use Gas-x strips is walk. Walk and walk and walk as much as you can. Don't over do it, but walking will help move the gas where it needs to go. I was miserable and I could hear the rumbling like a diesel engine in my abdomen for almost two weeks after surgery.
If you think you are having pains that aren't normal or caused by gas, then you should probably call your doctor. You can't be too careful and any advice you receive on here is nothing compared to what your doctor has to say.
