Mixing some G2 or Vitamin Water Zero (zero/low.calorie sports drinks) with my water has really helped me get in all of my fluids.

I like Syntrax Nectar Cappuccino flavor. It's a nice break from the over sweet flavors, also Unjury sells chicken broth flavor, Isopure has unflavored you can add to yogurt or Soups.< /p>

Wow...what a wide variety of opinions and experiences. I am going to go it alone, but have set up friends, and cousins who live in the area (my sisters live an hour or more away depending on traffic), as well as a couple neighbors, as back up. If I have problems or complications of any sort one of my sisters will come to tend to me or take me to her house. Will let you know how it all turns out.,. Thank you for the input.

I had the same thoughts, I started thinking I didn't really need the surgery....then I went and took a before picture. Nothing like seeing that to remind myself that I really needed help.

I'm 25 days out of sleeve surgery today, down over 31 pounds from my surgery day weight.
I woke up at 4:30 this morning to my fiancé hugging me. He said, "You were sleeping so quietly that I wanted to make sure you were okay." He was half joking, but the truth is that I really was sleeping silently! Considering the fact that he was sleeping on an air mattress in the living room in June because my sleep apnea/ snoring was SO BAD, I consider this a huge victory! Yay!

That's just weird. My resting b*tch face keeps the loonies like that away. Perhaps you should work on one of those.

My surgeon explained that although you are feeling this in your throat it's actually your stomach. That may be when you are full, but if you have just started eating try to take smaller bites (pencil eraser size), chew 20 times and wait 1 minute between bites. There is an app called Eat Slower that may help w/ that. Good luck and congrats on your weight loss!!

While this appears to have been resolved with some very helpful dialog, one of the biggest problems with a venue such as this is when people make assertions for another. Please do not take others words for it when they say you are not ready. And shame on folks for saying such things to someone whose shoes you do not walk in. Whether or not one is ready is between you and your medical professional (surgeon, and the one performing the psych eval). As adults, we should know that life comes with anxiety. Yet, anxiety rarely means we should turn about face. Please, refrain from offering such advice, and encourage folks to have the proper discussions with their medical professionals.

angelah106 reacted to clk in Has Anyone Developed Acid Reflux Since Surgery?
Five weeks? Are you kidding? The norm is 6 months to a year. It takes your body a long time to learn to make less acid than it's been making for years!
I was able to come off of omeprazole around 4 to 6 months out. I had to resume my pills for about a six week period shortly after I got pregnant, but I'm off them again and doing fine.
I did not develop long lasting acid reflux. It just takes our bodies a while to adjust, and five weeks isn't enough! Get back on those pills and try to take a day off between doses starting around 4 months to see how that works. You'll make yourself miserable and uncomfortable trying to live with the acid instead of treating it.
I think it's too early to know if you're one of the unlucky ones. Almost everyone gets to come off the pills eventually; of the people that didn't have reflux prior to surgery I've only seen a few here and there still on pills more than a year out. I'm no surgeon but I'd say 10% is a high estimate.
