  1. Wow...I am trying really hard to learn to slow down when I eat, chew, chew, chew and then swallow...and I am...I really am catching onto it!!! Yeah for Me!!! It's only taken me 3 mths...LOLRH!!!
  2. GingerSnap I was in the same place as you were with the WW Leader...most of them that I know have only lost maybe 25 to 30 lbs, and if they wish to remain leaders they have to keep it off. Only knew one that lost over 100+, not sure if she is still a leader or not, nor do I really want to know. Our journey is our journey not theirs...you go...for you!!! Congrats!!!
  3. prettythick1 I am hoping someday to be able to feel this way...I have never had any self confidence...so if and when this happens I will be sending you a message personally because it will be in response to your very positive comment...you look marvelous darlin! thanks for making me smile this morning!!!

  7. LOL everyone...lots of you had me laughing...so folks are concerned about getting their MDR Water intake...I was doing pretty good at getting 64 oz a day in and then I went to the Dietitian...quess what she said I needed to do...I had to drink half of my weight in water a day...I'm drowning...LOLRH...so therefore, I need to get hot on losing this weight for sure...122 oz a day is killing me...gurgle, gurgle, gurgle!!!
  8. mommyjamie...a pouch is what you get also when you are lap-banded...but water is something that doesn't stay in either the sleeve or pouch long...it runs right through. keep up the good work!!!
  9. Vtsoutherngal how is the pre-op going...thinking of you!!! Best wishes!!!

  12. I know that you wouldn't be asking that question marysminute if you felt you could. I know I wouldn't be able to do this alone, this site is fantastic and the folks on here are so helpful and friendly...I knew I had to do something to get my health back. this surgery "Lap-band" is going to make my life alot better-tried for years to do it on my own, it proved me wrong time and time again. you have to trust in whatever power you believe in and yourself and help from your new found friends!!! I hope your decision helps you each and everyday!!! we will be here for you once you have made your decision.
  13. I have my port in my upper left chest area...and it was sewn into place...discomfort was bad for quite sometime...my surgeon told me that discomfort might occur again once I started losing weight there too...so it might be just that...but I'm no doctor...maybe you need to contact your's just to make sure...feel better soon!!!
  14. always call your doctor/nurse if you are feeling something you don't understand...but it does sound like gas to me...you need to try to get up and move around more...and sip, sip, sip your fluids...no foods right now!!! hang in there you will be fine and doing great in no time!!!
  15. You are do AWESOME...HealthyNewMe...CONGRATS!!!
  16. I didn't have any restrictions on coffee...was told just not to drink a lot of it...so I have always had two cups a day and that is what I drink now...sorry I can't be of anymore help than that!!! Maybe you can ask your doctor/nurse about it.
  17. thx Martha...I am doing ok...still stalled but am hoping next fill will work better and I will be able to eat less...here's praying I will anyways. hope you are doing ok...you start your pre-op very soon right?
  18. didisom1 my doctor always tell me if I am having issues to go back to liquids and soft diet for a few days...if that doesn't work I suggest you call yours. I will be thinking about you and hoping your situation resolves soon.
  19. Heather Cjj I suggest stool softeners every day...they helped me so much...best wishes sweetie...hope that helps...I know walking more helps too for me anyways.
  20. Thanks 2muchfun and justwatchme...think the chicken was a bit drier though...tried a sip of water and it made it worse...so think it got stuck...didn't throw up though...it finally went down in about 15minutes. thanks again.
  21. proudmama1319, I don't think my surgeon or his staff ever told me to take in any number calories for the first few weeks...they wanted to make sure I was staying hydrated, it was only during the mushy/soft food stage that they said I needed to make sure I got at least 60 grams of protein and 64 ounces of water a day. so if you are in the early stages I think you'll be okay...but always check with your doctor if you aren't sure-that's what they are suppose to be there for-answers!!!
  22. sorry Rose I can't comment on Missouri Medicaid, but I wanted you to know that I wish you the best and you hear something soon sweetie!!! hang in there hopefully things will get moving soon.
  23. I know how much I drink of a protein shake makes me feel a bit queezy too...the premixed ones even though only 1 g of sugar are really sweet to me...and really sweet stuff makes me nauseas...not sure if that is what is going on with you but call your doctors nurse/NP or if you have a dietitian they could let you know if that is normal. but looking at all these posts it looks like alot of us have the same issues with them. best wishes that you gt to feeling better!!!
  24. I'd be asking my doctor about this myself...but I am new at this...hope you get to doing better soon. Maybe catfish87 is right...I don't really know...but if it goes on for a longtime...I would consider just asking the doc about it...at least he/she could tell you if that's normal or not. will be keeping you in my thoughts.
  25. Okay I have a question (stupid or not-gonna ask it)!!! I am slowing down when I eat, chew, chew, chew, put my fork down in-between bites...so when I start feeling an uneasy feeling in my low esphogus that I have been feeling is something stuck...is it stuck or am I feeling this way cause I need to stop eating...if I stop eating all together after those episodes I don't want to even eat anymore. So am I confusing stuck with my body just says your DONE? Ok will I ever get to understand what I am suppose to be feeling? Thanks for any info you could offer!!! Hope you all have an awesome weekend. My trike came yesterday and my hubs is putting it together...so I will be cruising on it tomorrow I hope for sure...I will post pics too!!! I'm so excited.
