I might never do a Marathon or a Dualathon
Well I might never do a Marathon or a Dualathon like some have on here...but I am one step closer to exercise...I couldn't find the bike I wanted in the stores so I went ahead and ordered it. its not a bike but an adult size tricycle and will be starting back at the Cantrell Center very soon. so I am on the road to "EXERCISE" in conjunction with my "BAND" and hoping to see some of these pounds come off faster...maybe I will be able to work up to a few miles on my trike and alot of lapses!!! Here's hoping!!! Have a great day everyone.

April 22 is my day!
L Hartman...Congrats on finishing your pre-op diet and getting yourself ready for the "Day". you will do great. I am so sure that most folks on here have met and faced their holiday challenges...as I have. I did allow myself a few bites of something good for Easter dessert...it was sugar free but was great. I ate a very healthy meal and stayed on track even with my indulgence. so try really hard and remember portions, eating slowly and chew, chew, chew and you'll do just fine. hope to see you on here again soon and will be keeping you in my thoughts for your recovery and your new journey into bandlanderville!!!

Out of work
had my surgery on a Thursday and was back to work by the next Wednesday...but I had some issues with nausea...otherwise I would have had been back on that Monday. you take what you need though...you can always say more and then if you feel up to it go back early...unless your job requires you to be released from your doctor. best wishes and remember we are here for you!!!

Surgery scheduled for May 15! Yikes!
Pure Protein Shakes from Walmart are only 120 calories and 1 gram of sugar, but they are pretty good already prepared so easy to take to work with me. hope that helps...best wishes on your upcoming journey...we will be right beside you silverclipse and georgeann334!!! will keep you both in my thoughts!!!

Sweet tooth
delove32 they make sugar free cool whip now...far less calories and no sugar...I have to be honest...yesterday for Easter I ate one of those Junior mini sugar free cheesecakes...but I accounted for it in my daily intake. I don't eat them all the time, but at least once a week I treat myself...this was my treat this week. will try your choices as well ladies...hope you have a great week!!!

Very depressed ,Need help and guidance :((((
pinkylat I can only reiterate with those that have responded to you above. the first few months are a struggle...just remember at this time we have to remember portions of what we eat okay? I am also struggling and have had two fills only at 3 cc's and feel no restrictions...so I am really watching what I am eating...I have fallen off the band wagon a couple of times...but climb right back on. that is all we can do until we get to our green zone. hang in there sweetie...you'll do fine!!! and we are here to help you through. hope to chat with you soon!!!

Question about preop liquid diet
lecouch just for your information...it will be a bit difficult pre-op, but I know once I had my surgery (my journey-I know maybe not yours) I wasn't really hungry those first 2 weeks...so the liquids were fine with me. Some on here although had different results. so just know there is a possibility that you might be hungry. I was only on clear liquids for 1 week after and was allowed to drink full liquids after that...so each provider gives us different follow-up diets. so be true to what your provider asks of you okay? best wishes to you and hope to hear from you soon.

Feeling Guilty
lorena...please talk with your provider about food choices that you should be eating right now. I have eaten pizza (small piece-thin) but was over my first 6 weeks. it is wonderful you didn't get stuck...but remember we have to think about portions right now in your journey. most of the bands at your stage do not have any fills in them so the swelling goes down and there is no restrictions...so during this time it is up to you to make wise choices. I do find your honesty refreshing though...hang in there and try to reserve your pizza for down the road a bit longer. take care and well wishes to you.

Banders Exercise
Although I haven't started to exercise yet...I have been giving to green light to be able to get back to execising...hopefully will be meeting with a PT next week to start doing exercising in the pool again. It might not be the quickest way to do things...but I have to start somewhere...gonna look at getting a tricycle this weekend too...so I can ride also. have to take it slower than most folks...having some issues with my knee replacements...hopefully once more weight getting off I will be able to even do the aerobics in the pool. So here is hoping for a great new exercise bandster future!!!

1st Appointment with my PC doctor today
I am in a really good mood today. Even though according to my doctors scales I'm up 2 lbs. He took me off 2 of my pills, not bp or cholesterol yet...but he says maybe my next 6 mths I will be able too. But what has made me really happy he signed my release to exercise so I can now go to the Cantrell Center again and work with a PT in the pool so I can maybe start losing again. I know that my increase was due to the fact I was told that I had to increase my daily intake...but am doing really good at posting everything to My Fitness Pal. So looking forward to moving ahead with band life and losing weight up to my goal!!! Hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks for listening.

Am i eating to slow
Redstorm I am glad to see you are progressing so well. I to was fearful about eating...but each new bit of new foods will get you past that...so don't be to scared to eat, because the band is just teaching us to eat less and slower and chew, chew, chew. It takes me about 17 to 20 minutes to each my meals. I take a small bit, chew and then swallow...but I do put my fork down between each bit like 2muchfun says. it is a whole new learning experience...but you are going to do just fine...we are all rooting for ya!!! let us know if you have anymore concerns...we are here for ya!!!
