Yay! Soft boiled egg wiht a bit of butter (tiny tiny bit) is the bomb.com. Chew to a pulp. Goes easier than pureed egg.

Thanks, Fluffy and GradyCat! I needed reassurance that it is possible! I'm still on shakes, 2 ounces of ricotta, or 2 ounces of non fat Greek yogurt. Nothin' carby or crappy in my diet, and I plan to keep it that way!! Trying pureed boiled egg for lunch today.

I'm 54 and just had surgery 4 months ago and I'm in my second stall already and have only lost 35 pounds so far post -op, but I have faith that it will continue if I just keep doing what I'm doing.

I had surgery when I was 55. My weight loss has felt incredibly slow in comparison to others. So don't compare. LOL. Cuz it's a major buzzkill. I have had to apply significant effort and focus to losing and had many, many, many stalls!!! But look at where I am now! In a little over a year since surgery, I'm closing in on Goal #3 of 130lbs. So the slow and steady race CAN still be won.
But, use this time very wisely. If you have crappy habits and a poor diet filled with SAD (standard american diet) but are eating it in small quantities, stop that behavior now! Cuz I swear, the honeymoon period is for WORK, not being indulgent. There is time enough in maintenance for indulgence. If you have high glycemic carbs in your diet, minimize or eliminate them.
Focus on your Protein. Keep carbs mostly bites of veg (when you can) and small (very small) amounts of healthy fats. Keep your calories low low low for losing. I promise you won't get stuck there.
Hang in there cuz you are in the 3 week stall area. Don't despair, you will lose.

Today marks 3 weeks post bypass for me, and although I'm not in a stall per se, I am losing very very slowly. I'm 57 and post menopausal so that may have something to do with it. I'm eating approx 55-90 gm Protein a day and still in purees. I need assurance that if I keep working my plan I will eventually lose weight. Any successful slow losers out there?

I stalled for 8 weeks - I feel your pain. While I guess I've lost a decent amount in 6 months, it still feels slow to me. I have another 52lbs I need to lose and my "honeymoon period" is apparently at its end so I don't feel like I will ever meet my goal. I feel like I should be losing more because of how much I workout and how well I eat.

It is hard and I don't know why I am losing slowly. I think our body gets used to eating a low amount calories. I am happy I am losing instead of gaining. In the past I was a gainer. I hope that I can lose my full amount. Hang in there! Hopefully, losing more weight next month will occur.[emoji4]

I just looked up my stats. At 4 months I lost 34.6 pounds. I’m 8 months out still losing slow, the past few months have been really slow but it’s still coming off. I have about 9 pounds until goal. I think you and I might have similar metabolisms!
edited to add: Upside: I believe I am at a lower risk for regain because I have had to work pretty hard over the past few months to keep the scale moving. I don’t take 1 pound for granted.

This group/thread has made me feel much more "normal" than I did over the past few weeks. I'd really like to keep hearing updates from everybody as this type of support is definitely helping me. Not every weight loss journey is sunshine and roses and this is hard work with what seems to be slow payoff. BUT, as so many have mentioned the scale is going in the right direction because we're sticking with what we know is right. Even though our heads are saying what the heck, body....get with the program and step it up!

Dear BariatricPal, forgive me for I have sinned... I had a bailey's martini today because I just felt I needed it as I have been so stressed lately with calls from my daughter's school about her behaivour (she has autism). It tasted good and it helped. So there. Not sorry.

Even though today is a fasting holiday for me I need 3 small meals with 1/2 a Protein Shake to stay healthy. I'll be way below my calories but I'll make up for it tomorrow!

Breakfast: Triple zero yogurt - 2.25 ounces, Whipped cottage cheese with cinnamon - 1 ounce
lunch : Yellowfin tuna - 2 ounces and 1 ounce sauteed mixed veggies (leftover from our anniversary dinner last night)
Dinner: cooked shrimp and steamed green beans

    78g Protein, 28g carbs, 7g fat

I am 5 days post op of a sleeve revision. I was sleeved 26 days ago and had severe complications. I was unable to tolerate any liquids let alone anything else. I suffered from severe acid and bile reflux. Happy to report as of now I am feeling great. I am close to meeting my new Protein goal of 80 grams.
I am still in some pain as the revision lasted 3 hours and I have a few more incision sites but getting better every day. Tylenol liquid has provided relief.
I have to say reading the various posts on this site helped me get through the past 30 days. Thank you all who contribute!

I’m 9 weeks out. I try to keep my calories in the 600-700 range but have gone in the 800s a couple of times a week. No problems with any foods, getting Protein or getting fluids in.

Typical menu for me would be a scrambled egg with tsp of butter for Breakfast or protein coffee. lunch is usually baby spinach, spring mix with 1 1/2 oz chicken breast strips topped with T sour cream and salsa. dinner has lately been 1/3-1/2 c homemade chili Beans or 2oz meat with broccoli or Brussels sprouts. At night I usually want a snack so I’ve had sf Greek yogurt, sf Jello with a dollop of yogurt on top or some cheese and smokehouse almonds, but I can get carried away with the almonds so have pretty much cut them out. Often I’ll add a Premier Protein somewhere, but when I do my calories are closer to the 800 range. I am still having to resist the urge to graze, especially at night. I’m going to try doing the premier protein around 9pm to see if that will help with the grazing/snacking urge because it seems if I eat a snack it just starts up my “fat brain” and even though I’ve not had anything “bad” I can still slow weight loss with grazing on allowed foods.

Hand in there! 30 pounds didn't cut it much for me, either. I am now down 65 lb from date of surgery and am finally coming alive!! 🙂 Be patient with yourself. You will get there!

Wow! I'm impressed, and a little envious of your delicious food! I'm 3 weeks out today from RNY gastric bypass and just started "advanced purees". So far today Ive had 2 Protein Shakes. And one hard boiled egg mashed up with light mayo. For dinner I plan to have 2 oz ricotta with one tbsp marinara sauce. I start soft foods in one week, and regular foods in 3 weeks.

About 3 ounces per meal and I was told to increase my meals to 4 per day as my calories are too low according to my NUT. I need at least 800 at this point and I'm 5 weeks out.

@Ineedsthebeach, great minds think alike, I was just going to suggest the exact same thing for our friend. So much easier doing exercise with the water's buoyancy as a helper! Trust you're having a lovely day and a beautiful evening!💕😝💕

I have arthritis in my knees so I also have some problem getting around (not nearly as bad as you!). My physical trainer suggested doing exercises in a pool in you have access to one.

Found out my issue with energy was due to low blood sugar and dehydration. My body has been holding onto every last bit of energy and Water it can. I've been told to dilute a regular gatorade with water throughout the day and start introducing some high Fiber carbs like whole grain, gluten free crackers. I did that yesterday and wow, what a difference. So once I get things reset I'm hoping to see the weight loss begin to ramp up again.

You'll do just fine, 73 and 6 months out next week( on the 5th). Had strange twists and turns on my WL trek, but like the Gospel song:
Wouldn't take nothing for my Journey now
Gonna make it to Heaven somehow
Devil grabs a hold and tries to Turn ME. around.
What Satan and his Bad Blips forget is I'm on Team Jesus, a child of God, and he shall not prevail in a skirmish between God and Him!

I have about 70 more pounds to lose. To be honest, GBP seems so much easier for me than the sleeve because I was still quite hungry after my sleeve but after bypass I have to remind myself to eat. I know you are going to do well and love your choice to go with the revision. Not having that burning sensation in my chest and throat has been life changing for the better! Good luck and keep us posted!
