Scared of a fill
Yeah I agree...you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to go through all the fills and frustration. As long as you are losing there is no need for a fill. Why does your doctor think it's time for one?

Food Addictions
Once you get the right restriction some of those fast food favorites won't go down so easily if at all. I can barely eat fries and bread. I can eat Wendy's nuggets if I chew them well. Five nuggets and I'm satisfied. Ice cream is a problem and a struggle for me. Ice cream is good and it goes down real easy. Eating it in moderation is very hard!

2nd fill w/Realize band 6cc total no restriction
Yeah the band is supposed to hold about 9ccs. My doc said that the reason they can put more in is because of the tubing to the port site. If ones tubing is long there can be a lot of Fluid in there.

Olive Garden NOT accomadating!!
I understand that there is no legal obligation to accomodate customers for any reason. They own the business and can make just about any rule they want, however, if money is their concern, I think it would be in their best interest in the long run to make their customers happy. If they don't then they run the risk of people not returning or telling their friends etc. It's not an unreasonable request if you ask me. I often share an entree with my daughter so they will lose money on that and that's not a problem for them. I know it is not their problem if someone got banded or if one has a heart problem for that matter, but when they chose not to accomodate their customers then they risk losing business. Obviously everyone has very different opinions on this matter as with many other topics. Oh and for the most part I don't find much on the kid's menu that is appealing either but I still think I should be able to chose if I want.

Just Found This Site
Yeah two fills in 8 months is not enough for most people. It all depends on the person but it sounds like it's not enough for you. You should keep getting fills until you feel restricted. Where were you banded? Your doc should know that.... I was band it April and just got restriction about 3 weeks ago. I took me four fills and my band is almost full!

Olive Garden NOT accomadating!!
I must say I am shocked to read some of your responses. I feel this is a medical issue. I think these establishments should want to accomedate their customer's MEDICAL NEEDS. The reason the kid's meals are cheaper is because the portions are smaller so what is the difference if it's being consumed by an adult or a child? If someone is showing a card from their doctor just like a diabetic would, why not help them? I could see if the person wasn't showing the card to prove they had surgery, but wow! I guess they don't care about their customers returning. If a place wants my business, they should want to see me happy. I personally don't like most leftovers so it is a waste for me to take it home in most cases. It's not like the cook has to do anything special or anything...they just want more money. I don't think it's childish to choose not to eat there anymore. I feel like it's weight disrimination. They wouldn't be like that to any other person with a medical need. Sorry to those who don't agree!

Here's a doozy! IBS and Lactose Intolerant!!
I pretty much have these issues too, although not as bad maybe as your describing. I still get gassy. A little less because I am eating less but still pretty gassy. IBS - still have it! I would have to say that the only difference is I don't have to run to the bathroom right away...it's delayed some. I burp more now then I did before. I was hoping that the band would help my IBS but not so.

Greek Yogurt???
I see a lot of people talking about this greek yogurt. What is making it so popular? Is it lower in fat/calories? Taste better? What is the difference?

My new Love! Coffee lovers please read!
Hey there everyone! I discovered a coffee that I love. It's not new by any means but it's new to me. It's the General Foods International Sugar Free coffees. It's instant coffee that's flavored. It mixes really well and turns out smooth and creamy. Only 30 calories. Just a suggestion! Oh they have decaf too.

2nd fill w/Realize band 6cc total no restriction
UPDATE: I got my fourth fill on August 20th and I finally have restriction! It took four fills and 9ccs to get me there. I lost 8lbs in two weeks! That is the most I lost since right after surgery. For all those who are struggling...hang in there it does get better with proper restriction. I can't say I'm at my sweet spot but I'm where I need to be for now. I'm hoping I won't need another fill for quit some time because it is expensive for me. $200 each time because I'm self pay. But for the first time since getting my new tool, I feel it's working. I have hope now!

band tightness when due on ur period???????
Your doctor needs to do his homework. It has a lot to do with it. It's hormonal!
-
Where is your port located?
My port is on my left side barely below my ribs. I was banded in Mexico so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I think where the port is depends on the doc and the band. I have the Realize band.

band tightness when due on ur period???????
Yeah, my doctor was telling about the period thing. It has something to do with the hormone that starts with a "P". She was saying something about birth control pills too....their are a lot of things that that effect the tightness of the band. I don't understand why I can barely eat all day and then like clock work...6PM hits and I can eat a lot with no problem?????

Private question
Doesn't smoking restrict blood vessles or something like that??? I'm pretty sure that's why they say not to smoke before and after surgery....

Drinking from a straw...
My doc didn't restrict straws from me. They gave them to me in the hospital....

Coffee and Tea
What about green tea? Any thoughts? I heard it has less cafeine or something??? I still drink McDonald's sugar free vanilla ice coffee a few times a week?????

Ice Coffee
I am a huge ice coffee drinker and as we all know, it can be really high in calories and fat. McDonald's has a sugar free vanilla that I really like. Anyone have any thoughts about it. Is this ok? I think it's 90 calories which isn't too bad to me, especially because I consider this a treat vs. ice cream. Oh and it's sooo much cheaper than Starbucks!!!

Is this how its gong to be??? HELP!
Hang in there! You are in banster hell right now. I just got my 4th fill on Wednesday and I finally got restriction! It takes awhile. I had my surgery in April! Up until Wed. I was eating everything I used to...well almost. I am so happy to be a real banster now. I'm really motivated and will return to the gym this week. I was so discouraged before now I stopped really trying. You gotta be patient. How often are you able to get fills? How aggressive is you doc with fills?

Sweet Spot Definition
sounds sweet to me...you can get down solids just not much. too tight is not getting down liquids
-
why arent I losing weight?
I hate to be the barrer of bad news but you may not lose steadily until after a few fills. I am on my 3rd and I still do not have real good restriction. It's sooooo different for everyone. Some get restrction with only a little saline and others have to get fill after fill. There is just no exact science to this thing.
