  1. 3 1/2 weeks into the Paleo challenge - and I'm down 10lbs! :)

      only problem with paleo , full on, is it puts a heavier workload on your liver. So watch your potassium and magnesium levels. Other than that, KICK ASS! way to go!

      Thanks @Stevehud & @ShrinkingPeach - I'm on a different set of vitamins & minerals to help support macrominerals. I've been about 80-85% paleo during this challenge. It's been a bit easier than I thought. It's nice to break free from all the fake foods that we are always surrounded by! :) 10 days to go! :)

      Are you new to the Paleo world? There are SO many amazing cookbooks. My favorites include "Make it Paleo" by Bill Staley & Haley Mason, "Nom Nom Paleo" by Michelle Tam, and "The Paleo Kitchen" by Juli Bauer & George Bryant. Enjoy your journey!

      Also @Zoey716, I was paleo for 2 years prior to surgery (it was excellent, just not quite cutting it) and I have TONS of paleo recipes not on the blog that just don't go down so easy for me now but might fit your needs.

      @lauren8486 & @Smye - I am fairly new to Paleo, however have been doing research and getting ideas for a while now. My crossfit gym is participating in a "Summertime" challenge ("Lurong Summertime Challenge"), and thought I'd join in. I am hoping this will help me push towards my goal as I am SO close.

      Granted I'm only 2 days in, but so far so good and I am enjoying looking for idea's and recipes. :) I'll have to look for those books Lauren and through your website Smye. Thanks!! :) :)

      @Tanika81 - I am a year out! I am doing a 5 week challenge with my Crossfit gym. It's a national challenge that encompasses a Paleo based diet, fitness (crossfit), challenge workouts, etc. I am getting closer to my over all goal and am really excited to see how close this pushes me! :)

      @Babbs - I stayed the same, but since I've been home (4 days), I've dropped almost 3lbs. lol. We stayed really active on the cruise. Swimming, snorkeling, walking a ton, plus I hit the gym, and jogged on the outdoor track on the boat., which I am 100% certain is what helped me from gaining anything. I watched what I ate (for the most part), with a few treats thrown in, but kept it fairly reasonable. :) Have a SUPER fun time in Hawaii!!!

  22. The 2015 Reebok Crossfit Open starts this week! Who's in?!! :)

      @butterfly125 - not stupid at all!! CrossFit workouts incorporate elements from high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, calisthenics, strongman and other exercises. I started CF about 5 months post op and I have fallen in love with it. Honestly the best workout's I have EVER gotten in my life. Such a supportive and encouraging community. The Reebok Crossfit games otherwise known as "The Open", starts this week. Athletes from affiliated gyms from all over the country will preform the same workout every week, for 5 weeks, and will be judged on time, accuracy, speed, etc. Some people use The Open to move on to Regionals and further competitions. I am competing for experience and to see how well I do. I am still fairly new at Crossfit, but am really liking the changes it has made within me.

      Hahahaha - Thanks Ginger!! :) Im working hard - but know I can push myself harder and further. :) I'll be sure to post updates through out the Open (it's 5 weeks of competition).

  25. Haven't seen the scale move much in the past 2 months. Will be meeting with nutritionist. Trying to not get frustrated.

      @rian2010 - My original goal was 140. Not sure if I'll get there with this slow progression. I would be happy at 160 - so I have about 19 more lbs to go. I am building a lot of muscle, so I know my weight will not drop as quickly as I'd like. I need to start to focus on measurements, so I'll be meeting with one of my crossfit coaches to see where I am, and to see where my progression is going.

      Yea I understand. I'm getting to my goal but it's slow going. I need to work out more I don't have muscle lol
