  1. The facility he uses is fairfield medical center....aka Lancaster hosp. They do all the bariatrics on the 4th floor. He is a great dr. I had him for my gall bladder when it went bad and I was 7 mos preg. He did amazing and even called me at home to check on me. He is a great dr and u can talk to him about any issue and hes always willing to listen and help. Seriously a good dr. Love him.
  2. Dr Custar is doing my surgery july 15th. I cant wait for this step in my journey. He has been fantastic! You are going to meet emily tue Nutritional counselor. Chris chong the excersize coach....pam is his coordinator and dr ann the psychologist. They are lovely people and u are gonna love it. I suggest getting a binder and putting a section for each these ppl and for dr zee. Hes a really funny laid back dr thats amazing. He checks u head to toe for dr Custar. He found my 2 hernias first visit to him. Hes amazing. If you have any questions....please message me. Im in Pleasantville Ohio just outside of Lancaster.
  3. My dr told me 75grams. Its totally up to ur dr. Id call and ask to be sure. We are all given different numbers. Just remember ur body cant proscess more than 30grams per meal. (According to my NUT)

  5. Mine has caused chest and abdominal pain. They can be symptomatic. Mine sure has been and my surgeon seen it. He put me on meds til surgery to help with it.....and its helping.
  6. My advice is simple. Research and learn all there is to know about each surgery. Then make an informed decision. Its your body....your health. Listen to what ur dr says. He is very informed. He has been doing this long enuff to know what surgery works best for ppl. Hes seen it all. But in the ned.....ur still responsible for ur own decision. Dont do anything that is going to result in regret. Make sure its what YOU want. Its ur life.....enjoy and live it.

  12. My sister inlaw has been on food stamps and had the surgery. She goes to kroger or walmart and gets the pure Protein shake mix. And the sugar free Jello sf pudding sf popsickles and the broth cubes. She even gets Protein Bars with hers. She said just make sure the label says "nutrition facts" and not supplements. She said anything that has nutrition labels....are food. Hope ger advice helps.
  13. I went to my ml house today and had to leave.....food smelled so good. Just made things worse. Ugh. I think my biggest problem is coming off the caffine. I am having horrible headaches and feel really sluggish. Its almost like a head fog or haze if that makes sense. I have 0 energy. Anyone else experiencing this? Or am I weird?

  16. Oh yeah! They told.me post op....never even buy gum. And I wont. I have a ton of sf yogart high in Protein for post op.... I just want one so bad I could chew my own arm off. Lol. Def callong him tomorrow and asking about sf jello and pudding.....I am starved to death!! This is aweful!!!
  17. This will be my 2nd hernia repair. The first one they cut me breast bone to belly button. (Craptastic dr!) So when I opted for bypass....new surgeon was thrilled when he seen my hernia that I was opting for both surgeries. He said gastric would help keep it from comin back but without it.....it was inevitably gonna return. Mine too is very large. (Bigger than a softball) ....and into my chest. He said it was the 2nd largest of his 30+ yr career. :-/ not sure how I feel about that! Lol

  19. You can be my surgery buddy as well. I am 37 yr old married momma of 6....4 at home still.... and my surgery is the 15th.

  21. So I started my preop diet on 7/5. I have to do it for 10 days. On 7/10, I have to have a filter put in. So at least that day I wont worry about food. In the meantime.....im doing my 3 shakes and 64 oz Water. Can soneone tell me if I can have sf yogart? Im dyin here! Watched my family eat steak last night and chewed a whole pk of gum!!! Help!
  22. So I went to my surgeon on 7/2. He said that I have 2 ruptured hernias in my stomach. One is above.my belly button the other about 5in to the left of it. Theyre gonna repair em both and do my gastric bypass same time. Until then....he gave me pain meds to use for the extreme discomfort. Is anyone else having this done?
