Just listen when she wants to discuss different aspects of the journey. It doesn't matter what she wants to talk about, just listening is worth it's weight in gold. Also, don't try to have every answer, but research it with her, try to be a part of her journey so she doesn't feel so alone! When she is losing weight, praise her accomplishments, even if it is only 1 lbs loss. We wanna know someone else notices. (Not just us and the scale!) tell her she is beautiful, and SHOW her!! Your already on a great start just asking how you can be there for her! She's a lucky lady and you can tell her we all said so!!! good luck on y'all's family journey!!! look forward to hearing more from you!

My dr said it best. Bariatric surgery used to be like ordering from a menu. How ever now it's more catered to ur personal health care needs. I personally didn't wanna band cause I have read that most people (not all) still ended up with the RNY. So I wanted to skip the middle man, cause if there's a complication, I will end up with it. So that said, take the advice of so many and really research and see what is more for u. I have been blessed to find the info here on this site that I wanted to know. Just rember what a very wise man once told me, there are sites like the mayo clinic, web md, and several other reputable sites with real honest info. You really need to spend an evening and read what each of those have to say, then base your decision, talk to your surgeon, and then you will go in educated and ready to make a decision with your dr. This "wise man" told me to do this and it was the best advice ever! I went in already knowing what I wanted and why. My dr and I discussed my health concerns, and what he wanted, and why. Turned out we were on the same page! Good luck with our life changing journey! We look forward to followin you!

Today still pre-op Hw total : 225 2nd weigh in : 220 Down 5lbs! Heck yeah! Can't wait for surgery!!!

Curiosity got the best of me! Yes im a crazy ole nosey bat! Well I laughed til I about peed myself at some of those stories!!! They made me glad to be NOT the only one some of these things have happened to;.......bwahahahahaah!!!

Im also going thru this. I have a BMI of 36, but also have many comorbidities. My insurance is known to deny for not having a high enough BMI. My dr told me that he was not able to tell me to "gain weight to make criteria" but that if I did, "it would help get me qualified" So that being said.... I had to gain like 10lbs.... but that is harder than one would think when u already have the losing weight mind set. Ugh!

I just want to thank everyone for their continued support. Friday was a VERY hard day. I was more relieved than anything! The kids are adjusting just fine and even seem to be happy with the separation. I have talked to the littlest one and she is the only one that didnt really understand what was going on. But in the end, she asked once when daddy was coming home. Once I explained that he wasnt going to be coming back, she appeared fine. She was the one that I was worried was going to have a hard time adjusting.... but seems fine. I really appreciate knowing that I can come here and there are tons of people here that will let me just unload. Thank you all for being the amazing people that you are!

I am so glad you are on it and making sure things are getting done! SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!! What a lucky lady you are to have such a pretty girl. I totally get everything having to go to the surgeon. Bella was born with an atriel septic defect. And everytime the drs would run tests, it went to the cardio, then to the surgeon. She was scheduled 3 times for open heart surgery to close the "hole in her heart" but I kept putting it off because I seen several reports that said that this could potentially close on its own. The drs kept telling me that it wasnt going to close due to the size of the hole.... but sure enough it did! She went thru so much at such a young age! I just couldnt see doing another surgery if it could at all be avoided.... and we dodged it. LOL .... She is doing great now... But that can all change in the blink of an eye with her.. But for sure keep me posted on how she is and whats going on! Im always here to chat. and it IS nice to have another person to talk to thats been thru the special needs our delicate babes need.

Thank you so much for understanding. I love my kids and I just cant allow them to grow up in a home where there is no respect, love, or fidelity thinking that this is the normal. I want my kids to know the REAL meaning of loving someone and with that comes respect, and fidelity. I dont want them to think that it is just "ok" for a man to cheat, lie, and treat them like crap. There was no way I was going to accept any SOB treating my girls the way he was treating me. And if it wasnt ok for someone to treat them like that.... why was it ok for him to treat ME like that?! THAT was my ah hah moment!

As will ur whole family! I know how hard, emotional, and trying a surgery like that is. My one child Harley, is 5 and had that surgery at 3 mos old. I am so blessed to have all of ur support. Ty for just letting me rant about the dh and rave on and on about my lil miracles. I do try to be everything I can and then some for my kiddos, and now is their time to shine and take the priceless bonds we have and enrich them going thru this together. We will grow, and we will succeed. And I feel it's cause I have this wonderful support system on this forum. I apologize if I rant too much.

I outta tell ya, my daughter is a high functioning cp child with oxygen needs. Since u are in this field, you will know what these diagnosis mean. This her list. Asthma Apnea sleep/and awake Reflux Epilepsy -Allergy to Protein ... All Proteins. She's on an amino acid supplement EO28 splash -trach malacia -bronchial malacia Atelectisis of the left lung (her left lung collapsed and grew shut) that's why she's on oxygen. Allergies to enviromental , seasonal, and more An believe it or not, I can take her oxygen off so she can do ballet pics, but she dances in oxygen, and is really good at it!!! This her... Bella Grace Here is my daughter Harley Paige. She has mosaic downs. And she is BEAUTIFUL! Both of my girls with special needs are!!!

Thank you. I have been thinking about this for over a year, talked to a therapist, and even weighed it all out in my day to day life. I looked at how my kids will be effected. And after talking to the 3 older kids, I'm confident that this is what they want. They have been part of the process. They've known this was what I was thinking and they actually want it too! They think it will make everyone happy in the long run. And I'm ashamed to say, they will be happier when we don't have the tensions in the house. That said, I'm ok with my choice.... And they're on board!?! It's a good time to do it!
