Will I Be Approved?

I'm worried I won't get approved because my BMI is 38.2 and I read where they want your BMI to be at least 40 for the surgery unless you have other medical afflictions. I am 21 and 5'10" at 266 lbs. I also have high cholesterol and bad lower back pain as well as acid reflux. Was anyone else concerned they would not be approved because they did not meet the criteria?

Have you gone to a seminar? If not go to one! Talk to the surgeon he or she would know if you would be approved or not. I had a low 40 BMI. I had to make sure I didn't lose weight on my 6 month diet but I was approved by my insurance!

I go to my seminar on July 15th, my friend had it done & she was in the 250 range but needed it because of a heart condition. I guess they will put my mind at ease at the seminar
