  1. I have a NutriBullet that I use daily. I love it. My nutritionist advised that Chia Seed would not be good for me after I sleeve. Does your new stomach tolerate it ok?
  2. At the risk of sounding a bit brash...f**k your "friend". She sounds as if she's dealing with her own "fat acceptance" issues. You don't need those kind of people in your life. She's selfish. She created a whole blog post about YOUR surgery and made it about HER feelings. She doesn't care about you. She was never a friend. Cut that dead weight loose now. You'll feel much lighter when you do.
  3. I have my medical clearance appointment on June 20th. When I meet with the surgeon, then I'll receive a surgery date. I'm so nervous and excited all at the same time. The pre-op requirement stuff went by so fast.
  4. Sounds yummy. What protein do you use?
  5. I'm having my team appointment with the nutritionist and psychiatrist today as well. I just met with the Nutritionist. It was a breeze. I'm currently waiting in the lobby to meet with the Psychiatrist. I'm a bit nervous.
  6. When is the additional episode airing?
  7. I will be Late June or sometime in July. I'm from Wilmington, Delaware. The bonus about having a summer surgery is that I'll be able to get out and walk while the weather is nice.
  8. Have you tried Garden of Life's Raw Meal? I like the chocolate Cacao flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the vanilla flavor, but both are very filling, 100% natural and vegan. Garden of Life will send you two free samples of their products if you request it via their website. They're really friendly.
  9. Yes, I tried the vanilla protein powder. It was absolutely abysmal. The worst protein that I've ever tasted in my life. The after taste was just as horrendous.
  10. That's what I'm talking about! lol
  11. My bariatric program fee is only $160 and that includes my insurance copays for my specialist appointments, group memberships, nutrition program, some life skills classes & some post-op stuff. I will have a separate charge of about 300 for the Protein shakes needed for the 2-week pre-op diet. That's not considered a part of the bariatric program.
  12. Is it your first consultation after the weight loss surgery seminar? If so, it's pretty much a question and answer session with the doctor. The nurses will take your vitals and measurements. The doc will explain the procedure. Then you get to ask a bunch of questions.
  13. The price was a mistake I assume or they must have run out, because I just received an email from Amazon notifying me that my order was cancelled and that I will be refunded.
  14. I too have Highmark BCBS. I'm still pre-op. My cousin had no problem getting approval with Highmark BCBS. In fact, she was approved before she even finished her 6 month class requirement. It seemed pretty seamless.
  15. How often do you guys eat after surgery? Is it 3 hours between meals or more?
  16. I would stick with 2 for now. That's saving you money in the event that the shakes taste like liquid butt crack. lol
  17. Hi Lorraine, Glad to hear. Nice to have someone local. Do you have a surgery date? How are you feeling about the surgery? Tx, Gary I don't have a surgery date yet. I probably won't be scheduled for surgery until June or July. I'm nervous about surgery. I look forward to learning on this new journey though.
  18. Are you only eating and drink opti-fast products for the pre-op diet or is there a meal allowed with the shakes?
  19. You won't feel it. You'll be asleep.
  20. I'm not sore in my stomach. My throat burns a little though. I feel as if I have to keep clearing my throat. I've been drinking tea since I've been home. I'm still feeling the effects of the anesthesia too. I need to lay down for a long nap.
  21. I had my upper endoscopy today. I, too, have gastritis and a hiatal hernia. I'm not sure what all of this means considering that I'm quite a few months out from surgery. I'm happy to know now as opposed to finding closer to my surgery date. I was given a biopsy. I'll find those results out later in the week. I'm just glad that part of the wls process is over with.
  22. I'm still pre-op. My surgery will be with a Chrias doctor as well. Dr. Irgau will be performing my sleeve surgery.
  23. I love the GNC pre-madeTotal Lean shakes. I also like EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control Chocolate protein shakes.
