  1. I did a lot of research but I paid my doctor the big bucks because he does this for a living, not on a message board. You DID give medical advice......btw...ck your spelling before you speak of "professionalism". As someone else said.....we follow our doctors advice because they KNOW us and our unique case. We do not all fit into your cookie cutter. I thought you were done posting here. I am going to "unfollow" this post but if I knew who to report you to on this board, I would do so.
  2. If I was bored here....I just wouldn't come here
  3. So in sticking with my plan for the last three weeks, it was Friday morning and "weigh day". I was happy to see another 3 lb. loss to make 40 in 6 weeks. Then I took my measurements as I have done on weigh day and compared them with pre op measurements. I have lost 23 inches!!! I felt so good about me, that after hiding my body from my husband for about a year or so, I walked from the bedroom to the clothes hamper in the utility room stark naked twice!!! He just smiled and asked me if this was a parade or an invite!!! LOL
  4. Licensed practical nurse, I assume not specializing in Bariatric Surgery and certainly not a doctor
  5. and to add, the first week I could not DRINK enough to stretch my pouch, I sipped and sipped.......just as my doctor told me to do.
  6. I disagree with you. I prefer to listen to MY DOCTOR who has a VERY stringent plan and I have followed it to a T. I don't really think you should be giving medical advice here
  7. Well I don't do game shows and if we call it a "trip" instead of a "Journey" then we sound like druggies.
  8. It's a calamitous swim up a Protein infested stream! I'm not saying you shouldn't post about yourself, after all, that's our knowledge base. Could we make the posts a little bit more varied and interesting? As for self publication - you got it. Right here, baby! Forgive me if I won't purchase it though. I am saving up my pennies for more edamame Beans and protein powder Are you a published author as well? Sorry but mine is a journey...and I am liking it.......if you are a prime member and have a Kindle, maybe you can borrow it for free, at least humor me and read the Amazon reviews.. or we can talk about my Blood Pressure
  9. If it isn't a "Journey" then what is it? I f I can't post about myself and my concerns or progress then what am I supposed to post about. How about my published book on Amazon or B&N called "How Can I Keep From Singing". Search for it under Kittie Preas Koukalik. Buy it, read it, leave a review...oh wait...that is still about me....
  10. I don't think you can say that across the board. Each patient should follow their own doctors orders. Mine had me doing protein shakes as soon as I was released from the hospital on day 3
  11. Have you been to a Chiropractor or an Osteopath. Both can assist you with back pain better then a temporary fix of an anti inflammatory! Just wondered! Oh yes, but I have spinal stenosis which is a narrowing of the spine and it cuts off the blood supply. Not much a Chiro can do, I also have fibromyalgia which NSAIDS are about all that help.....But fortunately I only have occasional pain since I changed my diet. The stenosis is better since before syrgery, I dont know why but I won't complain!! I haven't had to use my cane in about 2 months!!
  12. I have to take 1500 mg daily divided in two doses
  13. They told you clear liquid at this stage???? Mine had me sipping Protein shakes and water. Different doctors plans again. Congrats!!!
  14. How much calcium is in Tums and what if you don't need the Tums???
  15. I take pre natal instead, chewables from Puritans Pride
  16. WOW...constantly amazed at the difference in Doctors. I am at 6 weeks and he said 2 shakes a day.....
  17. Why do you have to get it???
  18. okey dokey then, good luck. Mine told me citrate was better but not mandatory
  19. any of those "chews" are going to be expensive, especially with the amount we have to take...I get from Puritans Pride.....they aren't citrate.....but says Chewable Super Calcium 600 + D3. Take 2 a day and there are 100 in the bottle. coffee Mocha flavor and they are really good. Right now on sale for $4.99
  20. I had a pain pump for the first day and a half, not sure if it is the kind you are talking about. I loved it
  21. Unless your liver is too enlarged to do the laproscopic......it's no big deal.
  22. I felt like I cheated when I ate it
  23. I don't know. I was 60 when I had it
