  1. No it isn't water retention. I asked the nurse practitioner and here is what she said. "It is VERY normal, some people are swollen for weeks. You have to remember that even though you will heal on the outside in about 2 weeks, it will take about three months to completely heal on the inside. Also remember you had MAJOR surgery and you can expect to be sore and swollen".
  2. My belly still feels so bloated and heavy, I feel like I am carrying a huge baby. Whats up with that??? day 6 ending
  3. How did you get your broth down?? I meant protein...............
  4. How did you get your broth down??
  5. Post op day 5. I stayed in the hospital two days and then in a hotel in the city. In the event of any problems, I did nnot want to deal with our small hospital. I am doing good but am still swollen and bloated. Tummy volcano is not so bad but still feel the bloat. I had lost 13 lbs on the pre op diet and was surprised to get home and fine my post op wt was UP. It must be all the fluid etc. In the hospital I only ate my protein stuff they gave me in an envelope and sipped water, mostly sucked ice. At the hotel, the first day I could only get one shake down, yesterday I got two and today the required 3. I find sucking on ice is good for me, but I have sipped some water today. I don't see my doctor again until March 11.
  6. I had to stay in hospital an extra day, I am still at a hotel in the city
  7. Good luck to you, I know how you feel my surgery is tomorrow. I'm pretty sure sleep is out for me tonight! Lol. Good luck on your journey! :-) and certainly to you as well
  8. One more normal day for me, then I pack up and head to the city where I will spend the afternoon and night at the hotel doing by bowel prep. The two week 800-1000 cal pre op diet has not been bad. I have two Premier Chocolate shakes a day and one meal. Monday, sort things , pack up according to my lists, Tuesday, head to city, clear liquids and bowel prep, Wed morning, SURGERY.... I can't believe it
  9. capellaflavordrops.com has a wonderful selection of flavor drops. I ordered several to include chocolate almond...we learned about this site yesterday in class. Ck it out. Prices and shipping are very reasonable.
  10. I LOVE the Premier Protein shakes. I use some crushed ice and pour it into my Magic Bullet and it makes a wonderful icey shake
  11. I had my last Bariatric class yesterday with the RN and she told us this could and probably would happen
  12. I am sure it is frustrating but like investment returns, consider the long term results
  13. Glad to hear it and anxious for details as I am a week away
  14. You probably won't see this before your surgery, but all the best and keep us posted. I am the 26th
  15. Be careful. Remember your insides were cut and have to heal.
  16. I have a friend who did so last year but I was wondering, and haven't talked to her to ask, how do you get back to your doctor for followups and contact for questions and issues????
  17. I am on the pre op diet and I put my bottled shake in my Bullit with ice and blend it, you can put your vitamins in that and blend as well.
  18. I have to start my prep at 2:00 so I can handle that, what time are you supposed to start??
  19. It says it's loading but just cycles and then stops
  20. Welcome. I am on the 26th. I am getting anxious too. I had lost a lot of wt after my first husband was killed in 2003 so in 2005 I had a full tummy tuck and muscle repair with lipo. The Bypass surgeon told me this would be a pc of cake compared to that, so I just keep reminding myself of that. BTW, the wt didnt come back there either!!
  21. Patti have you ever had a colonoscopy? If not I can tell you that it is not likely that you will be able to work after you start your prep!!!
  22. My new post it on my mirrors etc says "The taste of being thin and healthy is better than the taste of any food I have to skip"
  23. My cousin had surgery, sleeve, Sept 19 and has lost 76 lbs but she has stuck to it stringently
  24. did they even have the sleeve in 2010?
