My surgeon describes a goal of being full on a serving of food the size of a tennis ball and not being hungry again for 4-5 hours. I've had four fills -- small, I believe, but the surgeon does not share the amount with me. This time I feel different -- after the fourth. Tighter but not in a bad way -- eating and drinking fine but getting full quickly and disinterest in food at times. Having to look at habits such as grazing in evenings, etc. but feeling much more at peace with food. Satiety is the feeling of having had enough food for now -- I tell myself that. I can have food later, when I'm hungry again but if I'm not really hungry, I'm experiencing satiety. That was the goal of the surgery!

My husband has been supportive but when I had my first"stuck" episode he was like makes no sense just east slower or something stupid like that. He doesn't realize that this takes time to adjust to. I have been eating this way for 39 years and now I have to change my whole way of eating. Just frustrating some times. Glad you have an Awesome supporter. Mine is great too but sometimes ugh lol

It went well, turns out I had 2.8 cc in my band so they must added 1 more cc. Let's see how it goes.

I actually did it, and it's my first! And not only did I try bikinis on, but I stepped out of the dressing room to see what the hubs thought at that. Just crazy I tell ya.
Since I just recently had cosmetic surgery I hesitated between a bikini and full body. My biggest insecurity are the arm scars. But I figured you could see those no matter which one I wore so I'm taking a gamble
Anyway, I got a whole education on how to fit a bikini today (thank you sales associates!) and feel confident that I and the girls will be looking our best on our upcoming trip to Florida and the Bahamas.
(Now someone play the steel drums, I'll pour the rum&punch)

Just wanted to add that how frequently you weigh is an entirely personal decision.
For some, like myself, it's motivating to weigh daily. When I lose it encourages me to stick to my diet that day and it has served me in a beneficial way.
If you find yourself dreading weighing, allowing the numbers to effect you negatively (like emotional eating, or not sticking to a diet), or have reached a plateau, than yes, weekly weigh-ins may support you better.
It really comes down to personality and mindset. That's all

I have a 14cc band, and at my first post-op appointment I was told it had no Fluid in it. Now I am wondering, perhaps what he said that they didn't ADD any. I will have to ask next week when I go in for post opp appointment 2. I lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks post op, but I am now in week 3 and I have plateaued and actually put a couple pounds back on. But as many people have suggested in these forums, it can be counterproductive to weigh yourself every day. Weighing as much as I do, I can fluctuate several pounds day to day and that is a small percentage of my overall weight. What I DO know, despite what my scale says. My pants are baggy and I have worn a couple pairs that I had stuck on a shelf, assuming I would probably never wear them again! My son was home last weekend for an event at my younger kids' school, and he said 'Dad, your suit is too big!' I will take that over moving down a notch on the scale any day!

Hello Everyone. I thought it might be a good time to post a before and after picture of my journey so far. I started my 3 week liquid diet on May 23, 2013, had my surgery on May 12, 2013. My starting weight was 360 pounds and as of today I am down to 263 pounds. For anyone who is struggling it can be done. I still have another 63 pounds to go before I hit my goal of 200 pounds. I know I have many challenges ahead but I now have the confidence to meet them head on. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey so far.

I have a different suggestion. Ditch the canned chicken and make your own super moist and soft chicken. I have a proper recipe on my blog, but season some chicken the way you like it, slice up an onion and put in the crockpot. Place chicken on top. Cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. That's it. No need to add Water, it generates it's own gravy/juice. So simple and so much tastier than canned chicken and it's soft and moist and yummy.

This is a huge reason why I chose not to tell people about my WLS.
I am a mom, a wife, a successful business owner and a friend. I am a women's self defense instructor and a martial artist. I am a promotions director and an events organizer. I volunteer at a women's shelter, two PTAs, and in classrooms for autistic children. I am a theater mom and a kickboxing teacher. I could bore you to tears with all the things I am that are so much more interesting than the staples in my stomach.
I love the compliments but I hate the intense focus on my weight loss. No one introduced me before as the big fat cow, why am I now introduced as the one who lost a fifth grader?
I'm happy I did what I did and I wouldn't take it back for the world, but I am ready for this to no longer be the definition of me.
