jess9395 got a reaction from Sleeved36 in Does Having Bigger Boobs Can Save My Relationship?
This isn’t the black and white issue that people are making it out to be. Honesty we can’t know enough about your situation.

But here are some more thoughts, take what works for you.

How long have you been together? Is this a new thing for him to notice boobs? Did you used to have boobs and he misses them after you lost weight? What’s the rest of your relationship like?

I used to have ENORMOUS boobs. Like 44G or something at my highest, I never really wore the right size. Even when I was younger and just “chubby” not morbidly obese I was like 40DDD at least. My hubby has always been a boob man.

Flash forward to post WLS I wear a size 4 and was rolling up my deflated tube sock boobs into my bra.

Left to my own devices when I got my plastics I would have embraced a B/C cup. But after 22+ years of marriage i knew his preference matters to me. So I got implants with my lift. Would I have done it if I hadn’t already been getting surgery? Honestly probably yes. Would I have gotten them if I hated the idea just for him, no.

But like all things in a long term relationship, it’s about give and take, compromise, love, etc. Thats one that mattered to him more than it did to me, so it was my gift to him.

So yeah, I won’t keep cheezits in the House for him, but I will get implants. Ha! That is marriage for you.

About six months at goal. That’s why most plastic surgeons want your weight stable for that long before they do surgery.

Homemade chicken no-noodle Soup. I make it with lots of sautéed onions and mushrooms. Then I add in Pasta noodles in my husband and son’s bowls and pour the soup on top and leave them out of mine.

Plenty of us who eat that way aren’t retainers either though. It’s not a road that’s doomed to fail.

I think as we study and learn more we will be able to tell by your genes who will do well on what diet. But we are still in the dark ages.

There isn’t any one size fits all. I did the high carb low fat diets in the 90’s and those always ended in me falling off the wagon and regaining. I was quite strict on the low carb train till I got to goal. I’m still pretty low carb but I don’t stress about them a bit here and there.

I’m five year out and it works just great for me.

I know your plan is working for you (so far). Can’t we just all realize that there is no one size fits all answer? I know you’re certain your plan will be the answer for you. And time will tell, but since I think a big part of this is mental, I think it will.

But you make it sound like being a “carb nazi” means you’re doomed to fail.

I didn’t.  It’s not a stop gap measure for me.  It’s a lifestyle change and it works just fine.

I’m gonna agree with this. Honestly I would LOVE to be able to say it’s grit and “working my tool” that’s allowed me to maintain a 135+ lb for five years... but I think it WORKED for me. Yeah I could eat junk but i honestly don’t want to the way I did before. Yeah, I work at it, but not the way I did before, only to regain. One day we will know which surgeries (or other therapies) work for whom and why... but the sleeve WORKED for me. I am, dare I say it... normal in a way I never was. I’m like any woman pushing 50 who needs to be careful, but not like before.

Yes. 10000x yes. I have a few orthopedic issues that I had when I weighed close to 300lbs. Everyone told me they were weight related until I weighed 135. Then they found the actual issue. I had the problems for 15 years. They may certainly have been exacerbated by my weight, but they didn’t look any further than that for a cause for 15 years.

My husband has always been skinny—like really skinny—except when he was in college and had no car and biked everywhere and then he was really muscular. My kids take after him (thank goodness) and my fifteen year old is 6’3” and weighs maybe 165 soaking wet... and drops into the 150’s when he’s missed going to the gym for a few weeks.

Ask your doc but most allow you to count Protein Shakes and drinks. Usually they don’t allow you to count caffeinated beverages like coffee.< br />
Try all kinds of drinks...iced herbal tea, Water with sugar free flavor drops like mio, crystal light, sugar free electrolyte drinks or water enhancers like NUUN. Try all temperatures! Iced, cold, room temp, warm and hot. Add some lemon to your water. Experiment!

I couldn’t drink tap water for a long time it felt too heavy but bottled water was fine. Go figure! Just keep trying different things till you find what works

I'm going to respectfully challenge this entire premise. food hasn't worked FOR you (or me, or pretty much anyone). If it did work for you, you wouldn't pursue weight loss surgery. Instead, realize that food has been working AGAINST you. It's a huge source of stress for you.
The good news is you're soon going to set that huge source of stress aside. You're going to develop other, much more healthy, coping mechanisms. We don't know what that will be for you, but we'll be cheering you on as you discover it.
Good luck. You are not alone.

Well my late husband was, until shortly before his death , 3 inches taller and outweighed me by 30-50 pounds. So he was BIG, did he believe it? Nope, he never missed a chance to ridicule my appearance size and family members. To his credit never to anyone outside ,especially his friends. To his detriment, in front of our children , to this day, R.D. refers to me as a fat cow because that was what Daddy Dear said . Truly sadder yet, she inherited D.D.'s heavy bone structure, so she is wider across the rump than me but she tells all her buddy-buddies on Facebook she is a Size 14. RD stands for Rotten Daughter, and she earned it, bad enough she treats me abysmally but she misses few chances to be mean to Tomkitten, mainly because he lives with and sticks up for me. And I do still love her, she was my first born my baby 👧 but I don't like her, and her actions. Tried to tell her I was planning surgery, she turned the conversation back to her favorite subject, her! I finally got a word in. edgewise to ask her "did you hear,me say oh was going to have major surgery? Her answer "Whatever" I keep waiting for her to reach the age of reason,at 49 it just isn't going to happen. Sad isn't it?

Mostly splenda/sucralose for the best all around. Works when heated and even for cooking which many don't. It is taste neutral.
Stevia has it's own flavor to it so you either like that or you don't. I like it in some things, but can't put it in my coffee ugh.
I really like Swerve because it has a granulated version that cooks like sugar--so if you want to carmelize something you can--nuts, fruit, etc. It's sugar alcohol (Erythritol) with some oligosaccharides.

We went out to Breakfast for my mother in law’s birthday this am. I did what I often do at restaurants and just got an extra plate and people shared with me. Half a scrambled egg... quarter of a slice whole wheat toast, a bite of hash browns and smoked tri tip (the piece was maybe 2-3oz... this place has incredible smoked tri tip). You can see I are maybe a third of the carb servings and 2/3 of the Protein.< br />
This time my 15 year old didn’t finish it though because he had a HUGE breakfast burrito that he couldn’t even finish.

I still have trouble gauging how much to serve myself even at five years out. Especially when I am eating things I don’t often eat (in this case quinoa and corn). They filled me up more quickly.

This is ancient grains and sautéed onions (about half and half) with leftover tri tip that I braised in red wine and wosterchire on top and then topped with a little bit of corn and green onions and cilantro. My fifteen year old ate what I didn’t. I added some power greens slaw on the side optimistically but didn’t eat any so cropped them out of the pic.

I will eat the slaw tomorrow for lunch.

If you click on her name and look at her history that’s exactly her situation. Long term complications that haven’t responded to other treatment.

As for G2, all our local groceries and Walmart and Target carry it, perhaps because we are in California?

Another great only slightly sweet option is NUUN tablets you drop in Water. Available at most athletic stores, Amazon and also our local Target.
