  1. I use French vanilla
  2. Lemon light Greek yougurt protein powder + liquid. + Lemon extract + ice...its delicious
  3. I think you look great!
  4. I think it's normal to have food cravings. The psychologist I worked with told me that no food is really off limits unless it causes dumping. BUT she also said to limit those foods yo a once in a while special occasion. I guess it's all what works for you. Crazy denial all the time for the rest of my life seems daunting si I try to deal with cravings one day at a time.I'm only four weeks out so the things I crave are pretty simple...like salad!
  5. Good for you! I wasn't intimating anything about your experience...hope you didn't take it that way.I just wanted to share my reasons for getting WLS. Hope everything works out for you! I wish I had your maturity at your age!
  6. I've only told close family...no one else needs to know. As least that's how I feel.
  7. Getting a plan!
  8. tea

I still have my one cup of coffee in the morning but nothing else.my nutritionist said this was fine. Well...she said she could live with it!
  9. Pureed foods went down well for me but it was harder for me than liquids.I just wanted to chew. I pureed egg and chicken salad...that was good.hummus was a life saver. I skipped the whole baby food thing...tried it found it unbearable. I also pureed salsa into a lot of beans. But I've also tolerated spicy food exceptionally well. Some can't do it. Try ricotta cheese with sugar free spaghetti sauce...bake. pretty good pureed lasagne.
  10. I'm four weeks out and would kill for a salad! Oh welll ...not too much longer!
  11. Me too! I watch the clock to see when I can drink after my meals.
  12. I used EAS advantage pre op cause they had low calories...more shakes per day left me feeling more satisfied. Post op I do protein shots(I think they're Superboost) because I can get my protein in in two easy shots...not a fan of whey isolate shakes. I hope you can find samples. My nut didn't have any and I bought way too much stuff.
  13. Sometimes I can eat 2-3 oz sometimes way less. I'm four weeks out. My nutritionist says that I just need to listen to my pouch eat slowly and not over extend. My biggest thing is to eat three meals a day with maybe one snack...I have yet to est a snack!I just want to stay in this habit so I learn to stay off snacking. That's part of what made me gain weight to begin with.I really only feel "hunger" in the morning....then I usually do egg or egg whites low fat cheese sprinkled and salsa.I eat about 1/3 to 1/2.

  15. Diet pepsi!...still crave it at times
  16. Wow...I feel for you! I would urge you to get in touch with a local weight loss surgery center of excellence. You usually start this journey by attending an informational seminar. I chose gastric bypass after being disabled for many years which led to me being greatly inactive....and of course eating to stuff feelings! I now have dealt with my disability and co-existing depression and it was time to get healthy! That was my driving reason for WLS...not being thin. Please know this is a process...and not always an easy one. I am four weeks out from surgery and have to remind myself daily that it's a commitment. I hope you stay in touch and get the information you need to make an informed decision. Good luck!
  17. Had surgery on 4/29... down 40lbs from my he of 297...still adjusting to real food and looking for ideas.congratulations!
  18. Thanks for the tips! I'm doing 26g protein shots because I cant stomach protein powders....the shots are only two dreadful swallows!
  19. I just made chicken salad with canned fat free chicken breast some olive oil Mayo Greek yogurt and dill celery seed pepper and a little onion powder. Would your husband eat this for lunch?
  20. Man I feel you...I had an eight diet pepsin a day habit...I cut out one every two days pre surgery and am now drinkiing vitamin water and diet v8 splash...ice tea etc...it's a small price to pay....I'm down thirty six lbs in four weeks from my HW of 297. I can live without my diet pepsin.certainly not worth stretching the pouch or getting sick. It's hard though. You can do it!
  21. I'm three weeks out and went cold turkey off diet pepsi...I really don't miss it that much and I had a serious addiction. I just get sick of fruity flavors all the time...I switch to iced tea when it gets to be too sweet. I'm not a chocolate lover thank God so I don't miss that.
  22. Great to hear about people doing well in the long run! You all inspire me!
