  1. You guys are right...a healthy bmi would be great. I guess I just stay with the program and be happy where I end up.
  2. Spandrels isour friend!
  3. I like the way your surgeon thinks....I was really fit for about fifteen years and I have a vision of myself being that fit again of course that was fifteen years and a lot less chronic pain ago!
  4. Did ten minutes of an aerobics tape....ouch! Will walk 45 minutes later. Chronic pain sucks! Water aerobics tomorrow! Did some arm toning.
  5. Ill be happy to be a size 10....at a 6 I look too skinny ....I'm. 5'10". Just want to shop in regular sizes. I'm a sixteen in shorts but my boobs keep me in a 1x to 2 x shirt.mm.they're enormous!
  6. Wish I was in the 150's! I'm sure you look and feel great!
  7. I am wondering if anyone's Dr set a goal for them that they think is to high. My surgeon set s realistic goal for me of 175-185, but I'd really like to get in the 150-160 range. I see so many people on here who seem to set their own goals. My surgeon had me put my " dream weight"- 150, s weight I could live with happily- 175, and sn unnacceptable weight- 200. Just wondering how everyone set their goals. I was told average rny Wright loss is about 85% of excess weight, but so many seem to lose more. I'm. 5'10.... am I being unrealistic?
  8. I heard horror stories, too. The fact is that rny is safer than gallbladder surgery. Common complications are things like strictures and ulcers. Talk to your Dr. I found that the people who told horror stories were woefully uniformed. I had surgery on 4/29 and have had no complications. Loss of bowel control? Maybe if you eat sugar and dump before you can get to a bathroom, but I doubt it. The answer to most complications is to follow the plan to a t. Eat clean. Chew well, etc. If you're worried, talk to your doctor at length and they will outline every possible complication. Also remember that most people don't know that rny is mostly done laproscopically now....it used to be more dangerous and people don't have current information.
  9. For me, I had the mindset that if I was going to undergo major, drastic surgery, I really had to examine whether I was truly ready. It took a lot of soul- searching. For me,, I had to examine the reasons I overate: boredom, stuffing feelings, etc. Then I had to address those reasons...I still am doing so in therapy and in support group.I. also have the positive mindset that I won't regain the weight...I'll stay on the program,,and I do it one day at a time
  10. I have a big pannus or "gut" already.toning abs but it's a lot of skin and fat. Yuk. Ah well I try not to focus on it but I worry how things will be after 80 more pounds. I have to remind myself I did this to be healthier, not to become miss America.
