  1. .....This is going to sound bad...but my favorite food EVER is the pretzel lean pocket with jalapenos....I'm kind of happy to know I might be able to eat one someday. La'Shaunda: chicken and salt with some greek yogurt pureed for chicken salad? I would use the canned chicken. That's what I have planned. Greek yogurt, it's a good source of protein. I know people that puree chili. I've been digging refried beans, sour cream and a ton of chedder blended and heated in the micro lately. It just has to be the consistency of thick soup. Right now I'm just walking. I was told no hard core exercise or lifting for 6 weeks. So mine told me to walk as long as possible each day. We live in the country and I have a pretty long driveway. I just pace it. Up and down up and down. My mister and cub go with me. It's actually fun. We talk about our days. I'm sure our neighbors think we're quite mad.
  2. Well this is the first issue I've had. I really didn't mean offense and wish it hadn't been taken that way. I live in a small town. I don't even have the option of going to support groups unless I drive over 100 miles. I need somewhere to come and get support. So hopefully this was just a misunderstanding. I'll admit when I do something wrong, but I won't be called out on something I didn't do without defending myself. It's all good. Being angry on the internet is pretty pointless and I try to always remember that. Some like to stir up stuff, some like to vent...I just want to find like minded folk. I would call my surgeon or nut, though. That's just me.
  3. And my standard answer: Have you contacted your surgeon or nut? My surgeon and nut answer questions for no cost.
  4. Are you taking anything for gas and acid? I take 2 zantac a day and if I start feeling gross I take some Gas-x. Have you tried anything like that? Have you had a bowel movement? I had my first one today and I feel so much better. That was my first since like 5 days before surgery and I'm 10 days out now! Yeah. Miralax and a stool softener might help also. Don't be afraid to medicine up.
  5. Good job! I've been wondering about that! I pinned it on pinterst.
  6. Who jumped down her throat? If you meant me, no, I didn't. I've never judged or jumped down anyone throat. I was concerned and asking if she'd talked to her surgeon or nut. That's who I would call. It could be something simple. Like maybe trying drinking before you eat. It's called Water loading. How many ounces is one? And yes, it might be that it's carbs and they force through quickly. Maybe something more substantial, like solid Protein and THEN then lean pocket? I don't know. I'm new to this. I'm still on liquids. And, I want to be able to post here in a nice and respectful manner and I'd appreciate the same. I think that was an oversensitive reaction because I don't think anyone jumped anybody. Well. Except for you jumping us about being jumpers. BLAH, see where this kind of thing goes?
  7. He did mine April 1st! It's going okay.
  8. ......a whole lean pocket? I don't think you should be able to do that! Have you talked to your surgeon or nut yet?
  9. Hm. Maybe mine will do it later. I'll ask at my follow up visit@!! thank you. Yes, I'm nervous about the gallbladder issue.
  10. I lost 22 pds. I was on HMR shakes for 11 days pre op. But you can't judge your weight by others. My surgeon said 10-20 pounds.
  11. Yeah, they have them at walmart. That's not whey isolate. (i don't think. I think that's why I skipped them)
  12. Yet, my surgeon didn't prescribe anything for it. Should I be concerned about that? I asked about it and the nurse said, I don't know of anything you can take for that. Hopefully you won't develop issues. Um.
  13. I didn't have one. I was curious about that, but my doc doesn't do it.
  14. I have one that is probably 40 pounds overweight and she thinks everyone is too skinny. It's her idea of beauty. More a Lane Bryant beauty than a high fashion beauty and for years, that satisfied me when I managed to get down to it. But I'm going out of pocket 12k to be healthy on this and I'm pretty sure it's going to get me past LB beauty to high fashion beauty, even if I have skin to cover. You know, since I haven't been that small since high school. I'm going to tell her I paid good money to be thin and I'll go as far as I want with it and if she can't support me in my journey, then to step aside. If it gets too bad, I'll tell her that I understand she likes chubby girls, being one herself and that there's nothing wrong with that, but it's sizist to not like skinny ones. I cannot wait to possibly be able to call myself skinny. Or you could just grin, adjust your clothes in utter happiness and say THANK YOU!!!
  15. You managed to keep with the diet, not cheat too bad, and lose it because you knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. If you're like me. If you're like me, then you've successfully lost and gained 100s of pounds over the years and always managed to end up heavier than ever. That's the definition of yoyo dieting. Here's a link to my blog about all the reasons I did this http://nellasnails.blogspot.com/2013/03/gastric-bypass.html If you want to delay surgery and then revisit it, do that. This is a huge life changing step. You will never be the same. Ever. That's what I like about it.
  16. Oh, and we think mine was from when they put the tube down my throat and that I had dried blood I ingested with my ice chips and that my stomach rejected it.
  17. Right after my surgery, the next day when they gave me ice chips, I spit up a mouthful of blood. It flipped me out so bad. I hope you hear something good. If they don't call soon, I'd head to ER. Don't let anyone that doesn't have experience with your surgery scope you.
  18. I ate less than one medicine cup which is 2 tablespoons. Maybe a little over 1. I got the ninja at walmart. It came with the pitcher and the small food chopper. I dig it. Each has 2 blades and really pulverizes anything I need it to. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-Master-Prep-Food-Processor/14895654 I just had my first sneeze. It was as bad as I feared.
  19. My mister declared me a crazy a$$ psycho bit#h and I didn't blame him. He shouldn't have cooked that spaghetti. Sauteing onions and garlic in olive oil like I taught him. IN MY OWN KITCHEN. I'll take the names since I think my head might have spun around a few times...he was lucky to leave alive.
  20. Ha! lol I took 1 tablespoon of 98% FF refried beans, 2 teaspoons of FF sour cream and shredded cheddar and put it through the Ninja and heated it in the micro. It was delish. I had to fight the cats for it. That's okay though, I'm on top of the catarchy in my crib and ate my beans as they watched. Pfft, not like I didn't open fancy feast first thing this morning. I DID let them have the last half since I didn't eat it all.
  21. The dehydration is one thing...but caffeine also blocks the absorption of calcium, which I find even more worrisome. So if you drink caffeine items you need to time them and keep them away from your calcium supplements..
  22. My temp is staying in the 96 range. I think it's because of my period also
  23. I mix half an atkins shake with mine.
