  1. I'm absolutely terrified of Monday. My surgery got moved up. I'm his second patient and I have to be there at 7:30 am. It's over 100 miles away...so I'm thinking of staying the night before in a hotel and then going. I really want to cuddle my cats that night, though...so I don't know. Monday. I'm getting a gastric bypass monday. She called me this afternoon to touch base and I almost canceled. It doesn't help when you read horror stories on the boards!
  2. I have surgery Monday. I haven't given up caffiene. Am I in trouble?
  3. My shakes came with 2 pills I take a day. I'm not sure about the OP
  4. Thank you! I'm going to order it! My nut has one at www.bariatricbites.net with some good ones. I'm ordering hers too! Lord, I miss chewing.
  5. Of course, I worry about it. I'm a giant ball of nerves right now...emphasis on GIANT. I've tried everything. My knees hurt. I have a fatty liver. It's all downhill from here and I just don't have the strength to fight a losing battle anymore. I NEED the malabsorbtion. As far as I'm concerned, that extra large stomach floating around in there is my happy tummah balloon. It can float as I shrink! I'm over this whole obesity thing. I don't enjoy anything I eat because I feel guilty and then mad at myself. That's no way to live. Scared, yes. Going forward? Heck yeah.
  6. I'm exhausted and I haven't managed to work out once. I haven't been doing my school work and I'm probably going to have to drop math. blah. I just can't do it. So yea, I'm tired. I usually have insomnia too. That's gone. I'm in bed early and begging to sleep late.
  7. you're doing amazing and you look wonderful. How do you feel?
  8. .......what is the question?
  9. Goodness. I have surgery Monday. I have no idea, but I hope your going to be okay.
  10. My doc and nut have several recipes with Beans. Her fav, the nut, is to take 98% FF refried beans, sour cream, salsa, cheese and then blend with chicken stock until a little soupy. I've actually been staring at those darn beans on the counter. I have all my post op diet stuff bought and I want some so bad. I can't wait.
  11. Which one? There are several with the same title and the one I found was by a lady with "lap band" surgery? Could you tell me the author?
  12. Just ignore her if you can. I'd purposefully cut her out of my convos and just not talk to her about personal stuff anymore. I had a coworker say the same thing. I overheard her talking to other people, not me. It almost made it worse. Of course, we're talking about someone with thin genes that only has to give up "sodas" to lose the "oh my gosh, 10 POUNDS" that she gained over the holidays. When she's lost and gained the equivalent of her insignificant body weight repeatedly on yo yo diets...well. Then she can talk about easy...cuz I have. I've lost HER equivalent on a few occasions and it always comes back. People are hurtful, insensitive, purposefully judgmental and ignorant on many things. You can't let them determine how YOU feel. ←it's hard but it's what I tell myself.
  13. Is everyone exercising with the shakes? I'm so exhausted....I haven't been. Probably why I've only lost 12 pounds....
  14. Um, so. My mister cooked spaghetti last night. I've been on this shake diet since last Wednesday, btw. He's in there sauteing the garlic and onions in olive oil like I TAUGHT HIM and then he simmered the meat and as soon as he pulled out the noodles.......I flipped out on him. It wasn't a small flip either...it was the one where: Okay boys---here's a look into women. At least me: I flip out and it's almost like I'm outside myself just watching going, "no girl, you better back up. You did NOT just say that! No no no no no. Oh. Yeah, you're gonna pay for that." But I'm too far gone to actually STOP myself. It was that kind of flip out. "You don't love me, how could you do this, I'm Italian! Cooking all that! It's my favorite dish. How could you treat me this way in my OWN HOUSE!!!!" grrrr, growl, psycho wife crap. So yeah. He probably wishes I'd just cried. You handled it better than I did! I don't know if it gets better...but I do know what you're going through...if that helps at all.
  15. You lost 43 pounds in 8 weeks. Your body isn't like anyone else's and therefor you can't judge by them. . When else have you been successful in losing 59 pounds in a little over 2 months? I think you're doing STELLAR. Keep up the awesome work.
  16. I'm hoping to only take off 3 weeks. It's what annual leave I have built up.
  17. I just keep telling myself that I'm 330 pounds. I hate being fat. I HATE it. I have a closet full of clothes I can't wear. I've tried everything to lose it. My parents have: type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol high blood pressure, knee replacements...the list goes on and on. I just don't want all that!!! So I'm scared...but I've got to lose it. So.
  18. I waver between canceling and hiding under the covers. Mine is April 1st. I'm so scared it's unbelievable. Nervous doesn't cover it. Hi, ya'll.
  19. You're having yours on MY BIRTHDAY! It's a wonderful day and I'm sure it will go great. I'm so scared I can hardly stand it. Mine is the 1st. I started adding 2 packs of shake mix in one. woot. I'll have my five in today! *and PB2 is my hero. officially*
  20. SF jello of course and I'm only managing to choke down 3 shakes a day. I'm supposed to be eating 5. I just can't do it.
  21. I like the actual chicken broth in the cartons over the bouillion. I was told SF ice pops and jello. I like to leave my jello hot and drink it that way.
  22. Ugh, if someone has a tip, let me know! I started mine 3.20.13 and I have my surgery on 4.01.13. I'm on HMR shakes. I put PB2 and SF FF pudding mix in them to make them tolerable. I have to put them in a shake machine because they have to be cold. I've been drinking broth. Lots of chicken broth.
  23. I chose RNY for the same reason as others. My surgeon said with my issues, GERD included, that the sleeve wasn't for me. Also, as a previous smoker with a higher chance of stomach cancer, I liked that the rest of my stomach is there if needed. My surgeon is one of the only ones I talked to that said RNY was reversible and that he's comfortable doing it *but he doesn't recommend it and I'd not reverse later, duh*. The lack of long-term data results with the sleeve concerns me and the higher risk of failure. I've failed so often on diets, I just can't do that again.
  24. Hi, Jen! Thank you! I hope it all goes well too. I just started this early this year. I didn't expect it to go so fast!!! Russellville is a nice town! I hope you get to come back!
  25. Hey Rick, I'm new also. Russellville, AR. Dr. Baker in Little Rock is doing mine. April 1st. I'm scared and we don't have any support groups. Yay.
