I will be on a liquid Turkey Day as well!! I can have steamed veggies so at least I can have a plate at the table with all of our families. My surgery date is 12/3.

OMG..... Just got my approval today I have been extremely blessed I just started my journey alittle over three months ago and already approved with cigna who I have heard horror storys about when it comes to the approval process it only took five days and my surgery will be in two weeks because of my two week liquid diet that my surgeon requires..... I just want to say good luck to everyone and hang in there we will get though this together and look forward to seeing yall on the other side

me!! i have to do a 2 week liquud diet and i start a week before thanksgiving!!

What time is your surgery??? Maybe we can walk the halls together after surgery!!!

YAAAY!!! Good luck!!! You will do great! Dr. Friedman is great!!!! My surgery is in 2 weeks at 7am with Dr. Friedman! Wooohooo! I have been on this site for 7 mo and you guys are the first Friedman pts I have met!

I will keep you posted on how I am doing. He has been wonderful so far as well as his staff, but I am still nervous. Good luck with your surgery also

Hey my new wls family.... Just thought I would drop by and say hey and good luck to the people having surgery today ya'll are in my prayers... On a side note my doctor requires a 2 week liquid diet for surgery so I will be starting that soon and will be on it through thanksgiving which will be tough so my family decided to surprise me this weekend with a thanksgiving dinner at my house and the best part was I didn't even have to cook any of it lol.... I sure do love my family and how supportive they are

I have a wonderful husband and have to say, am super happy today is Veterans Day, allowing him to be home from work and help me to clean and prepare! I think right now my rational brain is fighting my emotional irrational brain. LOL I think why I have suddenly become scared is thinking about how far from home I will be. My surgeon's office is 2 1/2 hours away, so my husband will have to essentially leave me down there, to return to our children. I know I will wear my big girl panties, but just getting them on this fat behind is the key. LOL

Lady, when I had my lap band seven years ago, my surgery was over 2 hours away too. Hubby litteally made sure I lived through the surgery and went back home and then picked me up two days later. I was all alone. But I did fine. And it meant more to me for him to be home with the kids then to sit by my bedside so it worked out. But I sure do understand your fears and apprehension.

I'm home !!!!! Everything went great..... The worst part for me was the gas pains.... They finally started to go away..... I could of stayed another nite but dr said I am we'll enough to go home... Kept. My liquids down . Dr said my diet was exceptional ..... I'm so happy....

So 4 days and counting before my surgery and i am getting a little nervous...I began my journey in Feb of this year and finally was cleared 2 weeks ago... Its been a world wind ever since ...i just flew home from my pre-op appt. yesterday.. its hard when u live on an island... you have to fly to do things like this but i am committed so its all good:) gonna miss my babies though... AMAZING TO HAVE A LARGE SUPPORT GROUP LIKE THIS good luck to all the fellow Novembers and the rest of u as well!!

Welcome kauaigirl!! Dawn.....so glad you are my surgery sister!!!! We can do this!!! I went to my preop class last Tuesday and there were 13 of us!!! So excited to start this journey!!!!

Preop for me on Nov 21 surgery on Nov 26! Woot wOOT!

My surgery date is the 26th too! I start liquid diet the day before Thanksgiving:) I have a plan and a state of mind! 1) I am staying out of the kitchen and high traffic food area, we are going to a friend so the family will be able to have the meal and I am traveling with popsicles, protien shakes, Jello, and LOTS of broth. 2) I remember that if it wasn't Thanksgiving it would be Christmas, then Easter...ect... So this is a small sacrafice for the long term goals I have. 3) I am doing a potluck/replacement Thanksgiving on the 16th with some friends so I will not feel like I am missing out.

Dawn, thanks so much! I will write a letter to myself to keep as a reminder if why I'm doing this. Your response helped my nerves a bit an I will take your advice and be proactive about things.

The closer my surgery gets the more impatient I get with the stupid petty stuff. Nerves are normal. Just find some good outlets...for example: research the parts that are making you worry, I wrote a letter to myself to remind me why I want the surgery and what I currently can't do, get your nails done (or do them yourself), whatever relaxes you do it! Right now is probably when you will be feeling the most "out of control" because it is in the Dr's hands, but once it is over YOU have the control over what you eat and how you let others make you feel. Surround yourself in positive influences (people & food) and get rid of the JUNK (people and food) that are going to hold you back! Best Wishes and Good Luck! I'm on my way to the hospital. I'm scared and nervous..... I have so many emotions. I really thinking about backing out but my husband is driving and won't turn around.
