Congrats on making it to the losers' bench! I hope it is smooth sailing over here too. It's still a bit scary *not knowing* if I'll get through these last 3 weeks. OMG! It really is just 3 more weeks!!

Hi all I just had my surgery on the 31st. I didn't have a drain or anything. My incisions look great very small. I was walking with in 6 hours of my surgery. I stayed in the hospital for an extra day due to my low blood pressure and low oxygen saturation. They let me go today but I did come home on oxygen. They said this some times happens when on hydrocodien. Ill have a follow up appointment on Monday or Tuesday. But I had thought it would have hurt way more than it has. I would say it's all mild discomfort. I wish everyone luck my last 2 weeks flew by. You all will do great!

I am 5'9 like to keep my height but not my shoe size lol!

My first week my pee was super dark I'm just under three weeks post op and it's getting a little better now just got to drink as much fluids as possible. I was too scared to drink to much since they told me to make 1 ounce of Water to last 15 mins but I can't do that I drink faster then that and so far i haven't had a problem from it.

I agree! You don't realize how many food shows and commercials are there until all you can eat is Protein Shake and jell-o! lunch time at work is hard too, all the smells I am still preop, sorry for creeping in your thread, but I am looking for inspiration

I feel the same way as you all do. I had surgery july 22 and can't wait til I can eat a scrambled egg!! I have people that have tempted me the past week, I did have an emotional breakdown over a tator tot but got over it quickly!! It definitely is a head thing! But I'm staying strong.

4 days post op for me and I feel great. I have no pain at all. Headache occasionally and tired a lot but otherwise a very successful surgery.

I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow and I think I am doing great. I started the purée diet last week and found it too yucky for words so I have been just chewing everything until its mush. I am being very careful to stick to the list of foods I am allowed just skipping the blender. So far, so good. I feel great and am losing between .5 and 1lb a day. My husband and I went out on a date Friday night and ended the evening with a 2 oz cup of sugar free frozen yogurt! It was delicious! The only issue I am having is muscle soreness at one of my incision sights.

On post op day 10. Feeling great. Actually walked exactly one mile outside today in 29 minutes. Might not seem like alot but it was a great feeling for me. Going to do a repeat tomorrow and hopefully every other day too. No problems getting in between 66-72 grams of Protein every day. Down about 21 pounds according to my home scale. Loving life

Me to I go at 830am im freaking out a little bit. I'm excited too but freaked. I know its the right thing I'm just nervous about the pain and dumping.

2nd day of clear liquid diet and still not cranky. Today I had a weight check and the dr gave me 2 thumbs up, the surgery will be on Wednesday.

Congrats Nichole! Pittguy I'm on at 11:00. I'm really nervous!

Wow, it is officially real. Just got a call from the hospital . I report on Tuesday at 10:30... surgery is at 1:30.

My kids are 22 months and almost 4.5. I'm also doing it for them as well as myself. I'm just tired of being the mom on the sideline at the park or at the amusement park etc. I want to be doing things with them. Like running, riding bikes, long walks. That is what is getting me through the nerves. I just remind myself by this time next year how different our life will be. This Sunday is the one month Mark till surgery.

I am three weeks away! OH MY GOD!!!!! So many nerves

MORE UPDATES:
I finally got some uninterrupted sleep. Woke up and took a stroll down the hall. I can now have pureed food. Ooh Yummy! I'm having baked chicken, mashed potatoes n gravy and broccoli, I said to please include salt n pepper!!!!!
I have a litle medicine cup of milk of magnesia to sip on. Still feeling decent. Took a dose of Lortab at 5pm, last fir 3 hrs so soon I will need more.

I just got back from my last pre-op appointment. All is looking good to go for next week. I have lost 18lbs since my PCP appointment last week. This pre-op diet is for real.

Surgery done! This hospital is unbeliably beautiful! Would u believe the rooms are all singles, wireless keyboard, can get on internet, monitor is my 36 inch flatscreen tv!!!!! This is great!!!
Surgery started at 2:45pm, got to recovery at 6:00pm, in my room at 9:00pm. A little problem during surgery. Scar tissue on small intestines from a 2007 hysteroctomy had many inches bunched up and the dr. spent 45 minutes untangling it. He told my husband this will prevent me from losing alot of weight but I will talk to him today to find out the details and exactly what this will mean. My hiatal hernia was so small, he decided not to remove it. I will find out why.
The only pain I'm having is chest pain sice I woke up from recovery. The morphine pump takes care of that!!! I didnt need drainage tubes at all!
Another problem I had, my veins were so bad, they couldnt start an IV until I got to surgery and they put it in my neck it didnt work, they had to try the other side and that worked ,and that hurt like hell and they intubated me while I was loopy from the happy juice but I still felt it and it hurt. But luckily that didnt last long cause when I opened my eyes again, I was in recovery.
I will get up to walk today

I just picked up my shakes I'm so excited! !! I can't weight lol jk I can't wait
