  1. Oops, I think I did it wrong.... can anyone fix it for me??
  2. Lisa in toronto.........180......................180...................160...........20
  3. Thanks, Patricia. I'm just a bit worried because it's been 2 months. They've faded , but are still quite visible.
  4. Hi from Lisa. I'll be there. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Anyone wanting a ride from central To. , let me know. (Bloor/Spadina):whoo:
  5. And another thing: As I lose weight, and especially if I am lying down, my port site sticks out so much it looks like a misplaced 3rd boob?!!!!?!What's up with that????
  6. New question: I was banded July 5th and still have dark discoloured skin around my reservoir and , to a lesser extent, around all the other suture lines. I bruised really deeply and darkly after the surgery, and these look like permanent bruise remnants. Did anyone else have this? Does it ever go away???:help:
  7. Hi: I have an Inamed 10 cc band. My first fill was 3 cc, but I was belching and sliming, and had to get 1cc taken back out. Pretty good on this and get my next fill this coming Thursday. Have had some chest pain and sliming and pb'ing, especially the first week after my first fill, but I now feel really ready for another fill, as I seem to be able to eat more than I want to be eating.
  8. Gaffer: What a transformation! You really do look younger in the after shots. Keep up the great work!!
  9. Donna, there are so many ways of being smart. Life experience counts. Your comments and suggestions have always been so wisely put, and so helpful. I know you were really just joking, but don't sell yourself short!
  10. I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Even when we have lots of time to get used to a loved one's illness, the reality and finality still hits like a ton of bricks. Please take care of yourself, and allow yourself to cry and grieve.
  11. Thanks Doddie. I had my first fill today! I have the 10 cc. Inamed band, and intially got 3 cc's, but started sliming and belching and became unable to swallow water, so she defilled 1cc, leaving me with 2 cc. I feel comfortable at this level, and would rather go slow than be too tight. On fluids now for 24 hours then will see how I do with solids. I feel stronger today, and ready to eat more wisely. By the way, my parents are both slowly on the mend. Thanks, all, for your thoughts and support. This sight is so dynamite. None of the other people being filled today were aware of it.
  12. Thanks, Janice, for your wise words. Wish I'd read them before having my very first "pig-out" since being banded July 5th!!! Talk about stress-induced eating! I'm sick with worry now that I've stretched out my pouch. Tomorrow is my first fill, and I'm a bit nervous. But after today's disaster, I'm almost looking forward to a day or two of clear fluids, just to feel back in control again. Gotta watch out for that emotional eating!!
  13. It's been a while since I've been on this, my favourite site. Just wanted to say hello to everyone. It's been a very eventful few weeks. My Dad had a "mini-stroke", congestive heart failure, and both he and my mom have pneumonia. So I have been a busy and dutiful daughter. Trying hard to stay with the programme, and get my first fill on Monday, August 20. I'm nervous and excited about this, but wonder how I will know what my Sweet Spot is. I know that if I can't hold down solids or fluids, I am too tight, but how to know if I'm not tight enough? I'm on solids now for the past two weeks, and doing okay, although I probably could be going for more variety, and am still having soup and/or those small cans of flavoured tuna for lunch and also, sometimes, for dinner. Am avoiding junk food, bread and carbonated beverages. I just need more variety and imagination, I guess. I am losing weight- about 46 lbs from my high of 232 lbs. , so I guess I should be happy. But I'm worried I may not be eating enough, and enough variety, to get proper nutrition . What are people eating????????:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes
  14. I wish you the very best- you'll never regret doing this, and a new, healthier you awaits. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
  15. Hey, Donna! The bad news- you had to postpone your port site surgery. The good news- that frees you up to come to the Banders lunch tomorrow in mississauga!!!! See ya there????
  16. That's great ! Why don't you give me a call- I'll pm you my telephone no.. We'd likely meet at 11:00 on this saturday a.m.
  17. Hi,"Green" If you can make it to Bloor and Spadina, on TTC, I can give you a lift from there. Susan Silver is also coming with me, I think???
  18. Dearest Donna D. Well, maybe a little grossed out but I needed to know what's in store for me once I start getting fills. First one is August 20. Right now, no sliming, no Pb'ing, just more gas than I've ever had in my life!! It builds up over the day. I have a Protein drink and a coffee(black) for bkft., Soup for lunch and dinner, and have to retreat to the bathroom for hours after dinner. I'm taking Gas-X , 5 per day. Help!!!??!?!!
  19. Hi. MaryPat: I've heard Dr Klein is great. I had initially wanted to go to Humber but the wait for the initial appointment was 8 mos., then supposedly another 8 mo. before the surgery. I couldn't wait that long. Best of luck on your up-coming surgery.:clap2::clap2:
  20. Hi, Patricia: Actually I don't have a ton of information I do not know whose name the reservations are under . Here's what I do Know: Sat. July 25 @ 12:00 @Kelsey's-- 6465 Millcreek dr. (N.W. corner) at Erin Mills Pkwy. near the 401/Mississauga rd/ Erin Mills Pkwy. Exit. Is that an exit off the 401???? Does anyone have more information??
  21. Okay Donna. I finally have to ask What are "sliming" and "PBing" ???:cry:cry
  22. Hi Puddy: Are you in Toronto? Some of us are getting together on Sat. July 28 at Kelsey's in Mississauga at 1200pm You are more than welcome to join us.
  23. Peaches: You are doing so well! We're running a parallel course, although you are losing faster. I'm down from a high of 232 lbs. to 205 lbs , with surgery on July 5. I'm on full fluids, and loving my butternut squash soup. Which protein powder are you using? the one I have is medgenics from Tlbc. It's chocolate flavour so I can't add it to soups. Any suggestions, as I'd like to be getting added protein. Best of luck to you, Peaches. You sound like you are doing great!!! By the way, I almost envy you your diarrhea, as I have the opposite problem!
  24. I also was not hungry at all (banded July 5) and am now on full fluids. I sometimes have more than a half cup of soup, but other than that, I am sticking really carefully to the post op diet. I don't want to stretch the pouch (the small part of the stomach above the band) . Besides, I love that I'm losing weight already. Stick with the diet!!!!!
  25. Thank you all for your welcoming words. Now, I have a new question: Jst how many "bumps" are we supposed to be feeling under the skin???? I seem to have two: one round flat one lower down in my abdomen around one of the suture lines, and one higher up on the left side that feels really bumpy and firm. Which is my port, and what is the other one? I shouldn't be feeling the band itself, should I????
