  1. This is the number one fear I have, I am a self described food addict and have very little will power ESPECIALLY when I know I "can't" have something, I did the same stupid thing last week and ended up I the ER with a pulled muscle from puking which I turn upset my healing incisions, the only real advice I can give is to cut the portion down, even if you do want/need to eat the whole item, cut it into several small portions and jus snack on it over a couple hours. I HATe the idea of havin gone through all this pain and suffering JUST to undo it with weakness to food Good luck lady ! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  2. It just occurred to me that I havn't actually said what I am stressed about, which may help clarify the level of frustration and anger leading to stress so severe I am having physical ailments, eleven months ago I was suffering, literally, from the height of my battle with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I had a seizure in my bathtub while my daughter was (thankfully) asleep in her crib, I was so scared I called the children's aid society to help me take care of my daughter while I went to the emergency room....(it turns out the seizure was caused by the pain meds i had been prescribed for the fibro) long story short it was decided that my daughter was to remain in care until after surgery, well now it's after surgery and they continue to make exscuses to keep from me, everything from them wanting me to take more time to heal to the newest and most horrible accusation that I am addicted to morphine-despite the past 11months of CLEAN drug tests and the fact that I have only been given 40tablets which have lasted me over TWO weeks!! I am just so angry and frustrated and it is taking a toll on my recovery...sorry for the huge sob story...just needing some positivity before I develops an ulcer or something here!! 3. Obviously the effects of stress are detrimental to even the healthiest of people, but I am dealing with insurmountable stress lately and the effect it is having on my health (especially) since the surgery. I have found that my appetite is either gone or my brain tortures me with visions of choclate dipped bacon covered cake! I have also noticed that in times of stress I can physically feel my pouch hurt, I am worried I am developing an ulcer...the point of this rant is to ask of anyone knows the risks associated with stress in regards to being so fresh from surgery or even stress relief tips? In the past I have dealt with self injury, drug/alcohol abuse, and of course the go to EATING. Clearl I have overcome all of these negative coping mechanisms. It bubble baths, candles and music just isn't cutting to to tonight...I Ben tried some comfort food (rice pudding) help!? Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  4. I adore cottage cheese! Simple fresh and packed with protien! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  5. Yet another benefit of RNY is what a cheap date I am now! My hubby loves taking me out/treating me now cause I can't drink anything and usually stick to the cup-o-soup option! I love going out and it has been fun finding new restaurants that serve the type and quality of food I am now permitted, plus I think my guy has gotten quite fond of my relying on him during the healing process, never one to ask for help he gets the biggest dumbest smile on his face when he hears "baaaaabe...I need your help.... " how did I ever get do lucky <3 Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  6. SALAD! Big crunchy loaded salad! Caesar, Greek, Fattoush, Garden, any old kind of salad! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  7. i find that very few things i used to like taste very good at all, however things i never really enjoyed that much are blowing my mind (crustless quiche, steamed veggies ect)
  8. SPANX! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  9. EXACTLY what my hubby just said! I didn't even realize I had overdone anything, in fact I was worried I was being lazy!! Doctor told me my ONLY job for the next week is to eat sleep and heal lol sure learned my lesson!! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  10. I am finally home and feeling a bit better, after every imaginable test it was concluded that I had simply pulled a muscle/upset an incision site!! NO INFECTION! NO FURTHER INJURY!! The doctor said it wouldn't have seemed so bad if I had continued to take my dilaudid (morphine) but due to some personal issues I stopped taking that stuff days ago. All in all, I am JUST fine!! <3
  11. Rushed into observation, Awaiting blood and urine analysis. Next step is imaging and then a possible surgery consult...no real news yet but enough concern that I didn't wait at all to be seen...will keep y'all updated <3 Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  12. Severe pain and swelling on the left side near biggest incision, vomitting and chills Hoping for the least, bracing for the worst... Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  13. I was covered by provincial health care (Canada) but I was required to to do a 21day liquid diet to shrink my liver (optifast900-4shakes a day plus water.)
  14. I ate one piece of the chicken with tomato and pita, pretty much a normal pre-op bite but now what imagine the full size of my pouch post-op. I chewed it to high heaven but then I absent mindedly took a big sip of Water...and that us what did me in. I only threw up the water, but have fairly bad pain on my left side now (technically I am still supposed to be on purée until thurs-another 3days till soft can start)
  15. I actually feel fine, I think it was the drink of Water that did it although I do feel more pain in my major left incision...
  16. I did it. I ate 1) Solid food too soon and 2) Too much of said solid food now I feel like my pouch is going to explode while I dump from both ends. For all my education, for all my knowledge, for ALL my common sense I did the ONE damn thing I wasn't supposed to and now I am paying dearly. -1000 points for Sheer Stupidity!! (what, might you ask, could be SO tempting as to risk my physical health?? Chicken souvlaki on pita with titziki and tomatoes.)
  17. It's all about the endorphins baby! An I think a) not being able to do it makes you want it more and personally, having my man cater to me night and day made me crazy about him and re-awakened a deep love and appreciation for him...and what better way to show him lol
  18. Not from Michigan but I WAS a huge ICP fan and we would order Faygo online to get it here in Canada. Liquid sugar!!
  19. And here I was excited about trying baby food! Drool!!
  20. Yeah but you're a guy, guys would be willing to canoodle lying in a ditch after having their legs blown off by a landline ( not to generalize, just in my experience lol)
  21. Slowing down. Everything is slower! eating, walking even falling asleep! It seems to take forever to things and I am NOT a patient person!!
  22. I had some clam chowder today, I was SO hesitant, but it was all hand made using fresh ingredients, my stomach seems to be a accepting of it (chewed it to high heaven before swallowing) so hard to become a mindful eater after all these years of just scarfing down whatever was put in front of me!
  23. I hear ya! I am STILL struggling with fluids (9days post op) and for the FIRST time today finally felt like I have actually gotten enough fluids, but I have had a little bottle of water with me at. ALL times today. I have also started the purée diet but have been SO scared of dumping that I still stick to soups and a little baby food...every time I eat I can't tell if I am full gassy or just feeling surgery pain!?
