Almost one year post-op and currently down 165lbs (a mere 55lbs to my goal!!!!)
  5. I bought a dress when I was at my heaviest (399) it is a $200 black tulip skirt/collared number and it was on final clearance for $49! I just HAD to have it knowing it was going to fit someday and becoming a huge motivator for this process, well...I tried it on today And not only did it FIT but it looked soooo cute! As soon as I hit my first goal (300) I will debut it to the world!!!!! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  6. I have been struggling with this, although it is more often than not simply my body rejecting the food (beef and can salmon are OUT) but I did take a large bite of purée carrots and it wasn't too good either Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  7. I have found sugar free chocolate covered peanuts (usually 4-6 is my limit) and Jello makes a sf chocolate mousse that is quite satisfying! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  8. It is SO hard at this stage, I am almost 4weeks post and am just now starting to introduce solids and feel better, maybe try a thick soup (pea soup, clam chowder ect) will give you new flavors and a consistency that is a little more appetizing Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  9. Yes, my doctor prescribed me docusate (stool softener) Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  10. How far post op are you? You can always try, but dumping is tough and can lead to further complications ? Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  11. as we are all tempted by sweets and whatnot but know better and scour the aisles for sugar free items PLEASE be aware of the dangers of malitol/sorbitol, sugar alcohols...which incidentally are neither sugar nor alcohol, but in fact a type of carb that is (in my opinion) EVIIIIIL they pretty much just rot in your gut causing at least a "laxative effect" and more extreme can cause bloating, cramping, diarrhea and horrible ookey pain. -this all stems from a lactose/sugar free ice cream i found containing, you guessed it, malitol which after two tablespoons cause me the most excruciating four hours of my life. so beware folks, it might be confused as dumping but anything containing more that (...40g i think) of malitol/sorbitol WILL cause baaaaad things... talk to your doctors/dietions ect!!
  12. It's like a smaller version of a calzone ;P Gotta love our wacky Canadian ways! Should we tell them about beaver tails and Poutine? Lolz Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
