  1. Congrats! I am now on day 12!! We can do this!
  2. YAY! Very exciting!!!!
  3. Oh wow! That's do-able. Thank you
  4. For those of you who had to pay out pocket for the nutritionist (if it wasn't covered by insurance) about how much was the consult?
  5. Very nerve-wracking...it's like we get stuck doing allllll this work and then just hope insurance approves it! 3 months is not bad at all! Let me know what they require; I'm interested!
  6. Consult is basically an opportunity to answer questions and listen to the types of weight loss procedures available. Your height and weight will most likely be taken and your BMI will be calculated. Depending on your insurance, you will find out what they require before surgery and what your actual surgeon requires. It's a stepping stone to a new beginning!
  7. With that being said, you could always get a second opinion if need be! Good luck!
  8. Basically they want to make sure your depression and anxiety symptoms are being treated before surgery either with therapy or medication. Symptoms of depression and anxiety left untreated after surgery can tend to increase in severity since surgery is such a huge transition. As sucky as it is, she/he just wants you completely prepared for surgery. Hang in there
  9. Also, are you almost done with your 6 months?
  10. I wouldn't see a problem with that. Good luck!
  11. Don't feel so bad! My sister is currently doing a two week liquid diet (her surgery is the 25th) and she's DYING! Lots of headaches, etc. but is losing 1.5 lbs per day. Good luck!!
  12. Just some clarification needed...and it might be a silly question! For the 6 month consecutive weigh-ins, are we allowed to make appointments with our PCP monthly in ANY date within the month? For example, my first weigh-in was July 10, my next is August 13, but what if I ever have trouble getting an appt and it ends up being like September 28 or something. Just wanna make sure, because I know insurance companies are a pain in the ass with this!
  13. REAL energy?!! What's that?!! Haha
  14. You should be fine! My Dr. Does a blood test to check for nicotene only 6 weeks before surgery
  15. Oh yay! I'll have to order it on my Nook
  16. Isopure!!! Good way to get protein in if you're sick of the shakes. They taste delicious!
  17. Yes, using the app. Thanks so much, i'll try changing it on the website
  18. Hi guys. Is there a way to remove my email address so I don't keep getting lots of emails any time someone replies to my post? Only because I stupidly used my school email, and I don't want the world knowing I'm looking into bypass
  19. Hmm...maybe the best thing I can do is just call my surgeon's office and speak to the patient advocate. I'm sure I need 6 months of supervised weigh-ins. Never heard of anyone having to do a year of supervised weigh ins
  20. The website only mentions that they cover it, but require a pre-authorization =\ Nothing about requirements
  21. They keep telling me all I need is for the dr. to call in a pre-auth, and then they'd be able to tell HIM the requirements. Ugh! So annoying lol
  22. Thanks! I think you should be fine with the weight gain. Do they advise that you lose weight?? My sister did the 6 month supervised diet, gained weight each month, and was just approved I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck!
