  1. I get them from time to time. I had one bruise that kept coming up in the same place on my upper arm. I could not for the life of me figure out what it was from. Finally one day I was at work and went to use my catch pole to catch a loose dog and the metal wire at the end of it snapped back and hit my arm in that same place. I had my answer.
  2. Welcome to the site. Try lime in your water as well. It enjoy it from time to time in my water.

  4. We got a cold front in Texas as well! I usually do pot roast in the crock pot. After my surgery I really loved the taste of pot roast. My recipe is: Chuck roast Pearl onions - all colors Small potatoes Carrots (hubby likes those) Lipton onion mushroom dry soup mix I throw everything in the crockpot with enough Water to cover the roast. The other things I like in the crockpot is BBQ chicken. Just put your chicken in with your favorite BBQ sauce.
  5. I know for me people were commenting after a month or two, and I did not really see it until 4-5 months. When clothes started falling off I took notice. However there are still days I do not recognize the reflection in the mirror.
  6. You have to go to a regular computer - can't do it from your app.
  7. They way I did mine was change my protein goal and it will calculate the other items.
  8. My question would be how much protein are you getting daily? How much is powder or mixed protein and how much is protein from food?
  9. Protein will increase with time. Your pouch is still a baby and the two of you are working out the details of your new partnership. Listen to your pouch and let it be your guide. Some days it will be grumpy and try not to force things during that time. If you have a bad day try to remember tomorrow is another day and you can make up some of your protein. Keeping a food log really helps to get you to goal by the end of the week.
  10. Every marriage is different, and this process will test your marriage in so many ways. The most important thing is to communicate. Talk about everything - your successes, anger, frustrations, anxiety. Those are just a few emotions you will go through. Many marriages end after RNY, but I believe that rny is a very small piece to that puzzle. My marriage has grown stronger, but that takes work and communication. Before I had the surgery my hubby and I had several long heart to heart discussions about the decision.
  11. In some ways you do develop an eating disorder. This surgery takes you on such a journey that you have your ups and downs. You learn so much about who you are and why you used food in such a dysfunctional way. There are times that I obsess about everything I put in my mouth, and then there are times when I eat stuff I should not. Knowing full well that I should not be eating things. The key is to find the balance, and in order to do that you have to come face to face with our food issues. You need to have a good support system and the ability to communicate your fears, anxiety, joy, happiness, and anger.
  12. I know you said it was ok with your doctor, but it sounds like you might have gotten sick with low blood sugar. We must eat to fuel our bodies. It is the law of nature. By only sipping water all day and then going to the street fair you were setting yourself up for getting sick.
  13. Follow your docs orders, but go slow. Your doc has done thousands of these surgeries and you trusted him enough to let him cut you open. He knows what he is talking about. However you will make it worse by worrying about it. You can actually make yourself sick with worry. Relax and take you time
  14. Yes it could be, but they should also know you are having a tough time and that meds are not working. Always communicate with your doctors office that is why we pay them.
  15. You need to call and talk with your doctor about this.
  16. Try everything that is allowed by your docs plan. Try small bites at first and go from there. I would also say that things you did not like post op you may find you LOVE now. I was not big on Asian food pre op, but there was a time I felt like I could not get enough of it
  17. I started a new job one week post op. We had about a month of training days in a classroom. I had pain around my central incision but a little extra padding and that went away.
