  1. Have you talked to your doctor yet? You were having problems getting things down and I worry something could be wrong internally. Really talk with your doctor!
  2. Hi Jessica and welcome!!!! It sounds like you are ready to do this and make the commitment to a new life. This will be a long journey, but well worth it. I am 15 months post op and LOVE my new life! I have lost 130 pounds! I have few suggestions for you. Communicate with you husband. Any feelings, anxiety, fears and happiness talk to your husband. Many marriages fail during the journey and thankfully mine has gotten stronger. Communication is the key! Realize now that there will be stalls and low points in your journey. It does not mean you have failed or going to fail. It means you are normal. Finally celebrate the small joys in this journey! Set goals and have fun getting to know yourself. I have learned so much about myself. I learned I am stronger and am beginning to realize my dreams! Dreams I never thought were possible as a big girl! If you ever have questions send me a message!
  3. Are you logging your foods? I am 15 months post op and I maintain a food log, exercise 5-6 times a week. However it is a struggle. We can eat most anything after a year and I have had bad times where I eat things I should not eat. Food logging helped me realize patterns in my snacking. Which ultimately helped me get control of it. I have also found it helps to set goals. When I am not working towards a goal I slack off. When I achieve my goal I ind something new.
  4. Everyone's body is different. Most people stall in the first three months. Their body has to catch up to all the changes.
  5. I use egg whites as my main protein spires for most days. I use double pasteurized egg white made to be put in drinks. I mix it with a power aid drink and turn a 0g drink into a 49g protein drink. It changes the texture a little, but I don't taste it. Each pump gives you 3.3g protein. I have learned not to shake you drink after adding the egg whites as it does create a foam. Since egg whites are a whole food protein the body absorbs it easier. They make a chocolate egg white and some people think it taste like chocolate milk.
  6. I have heard mustard helps with leg cramps
  7. Could be gallbladder. Talk to your doc about it
  8. I went to max muscle and they allowed me to try everything before I bought anything. Not sure if they are a national chain.
  9. My favorite snack is a banana. It fills me up and has good nutrition!
  10. Think about what you are saying. You feel like a failure - even though you have lost a lot of weight. Not sure how much but try turning your thinking around. The scale will move again, but the closer we are to goal the slower the weight loss.
  11. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!
  12. I am in Texas, but will to be your friend through this journey!
  13. It is part of the stall process. I lost all my inches when I was not losing weight. It is like your body catches up to the weight loss. I am 15 months post op and people keep saying I am losing weight. I tell them no it is all inches. Personally inches are more rewarding - and more fun. When you lose inches you have a new excuse to go shopping. I bought a new dress today and felt like a million bucks!
  14. Call your doc! They can give you meds to help and also make sure you do not have a stricture.
  15. I have done the liquid NyQuil with no issues. However when I took DayQuil liquid I have no recollection of my drive home. Just a little scary
  16. Chapstick Phone charger Pillow Tooth brush Tooth paste hair brush
  17. It is a normal part of the process. My Tate buds have changed a lot over the last 15 months and continue to change. I go through phases. I will want something and can't seem to get enough of it and then one day out of nowhere the thought of it makes me sick.
  18. Within hours. Once I got back to my room I was getting up and walking.
  19. It really depends on a lot of factors. My doc said 60-80 daily. I shoot for 104 everyday unless I am playing soccer. Then I try for 120. The more active you are the more protein you need. My doc also said that you can have too little protein but we will never hear him say you are eating too much.
  20. I get them from time to time. I had one bruise that kept coming up in the same place on my upper arm. I could not for the life of me figure out what it was from. Finally one day I was at work and went to use my catch pole to catch a loose dog and the metal wire at the end of it snapped back and hit my arm in that same place. I had my answer.
