  1. They're fine if they are on sale....full price is WAY too much!
  2. I take little tiny bites of everything and chew chew chew now. I didn't start before the band, because I knew I would have to afterwards. I ordered a steak one time, but then I decided not to eat it because it was too dry. I haven't had any problems with anything yet really....but I think I'm just finally at a good restriction level today.
  3. I've been shopping there for the last 8 fat years of my life...but this time it was just TOO frustrating! Their clothes don't fit me right anymore since I've been losing weight & it's nearly impossible to find clothes that do now! I finally found a good outfit & it didn't count in the discount. The discount signs this week say "Buy one get one 50% off eveything in the store" Then the little teeny tiny writing must say something about the "right fit" slacks not counting. I was going to get the right fit houston pants.....but NO dice! I couldn't use a coupon or get the in store discount. It makes me feel like they're taking advantage of us plump ladies!
  4. I had to take antibiotics for 2 weeks and antacids for 8 weeks. I am almost done. They started me on the treatment after 6 weeks after the surgery. My insurance made the medication pretty darn cheap. The antacid was a generic for prevacid that was WAY cheaper than the OTC.
  5. What a rip off! They lured me into the store with their coupons and special sales & then when I went to the cash register- no discounts applied to what I was buying. I'll be d**ned if I'm going to pay 90 bucks for an outfit I'll wear for 2 months! I went down the street to Dress Barn & a similar outfit was $55! I feel like LB thinks that since we're fat we're either dumb or rich! What a bunch of bulldung!
  6. You'll fall asleep eventually, and then you'll probably have to be on a CPAP machine for a couple weeks before you can have the surgery and until you lose a bunch of weight. Then you'll have to have another sleep study to get off the stupid thing! The sleep studies cost about 1000 dollars, so I hope you have insurance. (Can you tell that I hate the whole rigamarole?!)
  7. Mine is really more like a tightness in my chest too. But I get it even when I haven't eaten anything. It is the most noticable around 5-6 in the evening before I eat dinner. I'm not sure if I'm really feeling this or if I'm making it up. Do other bandsters get this feeling? I don't think it's related to me being filled enough or not.:confused2:
  8. I get the same feeling around 6:00 every day. I'm trying to figure out if it is in my head or if it is really happening. What does restricition feel like? Is it a feeling or just a lack of hunger?
  9. I feel this pressure in my throat like there's a walnut sitting in there or something (after eating). Is this what restriction feels like? I thought the band was lower and around the top of my stomach. This feels like it's inside my esophagus...any imput would be appreciated! Thanks!
  10. I've only gone down one size, so I don't want to buy anything until I go down another. A couple of my pants are unwearable, but I refuse to buy anything until I'm in a 14/16. I've started buying a few things in that size- to help me get to my next goal! It's a little depressing to think I've only gone down one size- but then again, yey!
  11. It sounds a little slow to me. My first 90 days of fills were free so I have had 4 and I'm going to get one more next week probably. I will be filled to 6 then. I know everyone is different...but if you don't feel much then you should ask your doctor for more aggressive fills.
  12. I've had three fills & I am at 5cc now. Sounds like you need a new doc if he doesn't go over 4! That's sounds weird...is that really what he meant? I am feeling restriction and losing 1-2 pounds per week, but I think I will be getting one more fill at least. I'm trying to get in the green zone....almost there.
  13. Steak is no good for me. I haven't gotten stuck on that or anything else- but steak just doesn't taste good anymore after 30 chews and it's still chunky & dry....Ick! I spit it out without trying to swallow.
  14. That I didn't do it 5 years ago when I first started researching it!
  15. You can probably handle it. You won't be 100 percent yet, but as long as you can rest whenever you need to it'll probably be alright. I took 3 weeks off of work personally & am glad I was able to. You will need to be extra careful not to sit still for too long- to avoid blood clots and whatnot. Get up and walk around every 30 minutes or so. Good Luck!
  16. The first 10 days or so were terrible. I had to change the TV channel whenever a food ad came on, because it made me want the food SO bad. I got really sick of mashed potatoes and eggs by the end of the diet phase. I have to admit that I cheated a little bit but chewed my food until it was liquid before swallowing. I'm not suggesting to "cheat" I hope I didn't do my self any harm not completely following the dr's directions. Other than the head hunger though, I was lucky enough not to feel physical hunger- I haven't really felt physical hunger more than twice since the surgery. My body literally was like the Lion in the commericial telling me to EAT EAT YOU'RE HUNGRY EAT! After the surgery it's a mouse...my brain on the other hand still loves to eat. I'm getting to the point now where I have to make myself stop eating before the portion is gone because it won't go down anymore. Don't worry so much about the post op diet- it is difficult but over in NO time. Good Luck!
  17. I just got off my scale and realized that I am upset that I'm only losing about 1 pound a week. HAHA! I love that complaint. To think that before this I was lucky not to gain one pound a week- forget about losing it! Anyone else notice this complaint of themselves? I love my band!!
  18. I am 5'5" and my goal is 126- maybe a bit out of reach but I'm reaching for the stars here! I started out at 271 before my preop diet and I'm down to 229 now. It's been 2 months since surgery. I am not even trying yet- I need somebody to kick me in the butt and make me exercise & I think the weight would come off even faster then. I think 145 is totally realistic for you. I sorry to tell you that your boobs are going to shrink! Mine have already gone down about a 1/2 a cup size... Good Luck!
  19. I just took a drink with a straw. I had to give up soda- I can't give up my straws, too! I haven't had a problem- I spose it might make me burp more- but I buro more anyways....
  20. NAME.........Start Weight...Goal...Current Weight...To Go anyalee..........271.....199........231.......32
  21. I don't think I need to call my GYN- it's all evened itself out naturally. I do need to go in for a yearly though. My big problem is because of the high malpractice insurance in wyoming there's only 1 gyno to choose from and you have to be on the list months in advance. She may even not be taking new clients. Craziness!
  22. Just an update here in case someone else searches for this topic. I am having my period naturally again and it has only been 5 weeks since the last one. Cool! Myself is balancing itself out hormonally and my libido has returned. Now I just have to work on getting the man to wear the love glove so we don't get a surprise!
  23. How many times has your doc done this surgery? Your life is too valuable and there are too many doctors out there who are excellent for you to take a chance if you feel uncomfortable. Find a bariatric center of excellence. I have to drive 2 hours to get to my doc, but it's worth it because he's awesome.
  24. What do you eat on the road Jack? (whoa a song just started in my head...)
  25. I think it was about 12-14 days for me...
