  1. yes cottage cheese sounds good!
  2. that sounds good lv...the time I tried that I was overfilled and I threw it up & haven't tried it since then...I guess it's time!
  3. Yogurt would be a great idea, but it makes me sick...I also can't do eggs first thing on the morning. Thanks for the ideas! Keep em coming!
  4. I'm sure this has been answered before...but I need help with Breakfast. I think I have decent but not quit tight enough restriction. I am very tight in the morning and I have stopped eating breakfast. I'm thinking that's not great for my metabolism. The sad thing is that as I go through the day I get looser and looser until at night I can eat as muh as I let myself (of course nothing like before the surgery). Anyway- I don't have a lot of time in the morning so I am looking for a quick breakfast that I can eat on the run and that won't get stuck....so things like breakfast bars or bagels don't work for me. I would also love something with Protein and the health factor working for me, but less than 200 calories.... Can anyone help? What do you eat for breakfast?:confused2:
  5. Hi! I am not in your boat yet, but would like to be. I have been banded by Dr Johnell for 6 months. I would like to get pregnant soon, but he said not to until 18 months after surgery. What was the reaction at the dr's office when you were pregnant after 10 months? Did you have any fertility problems before your surgery? I have PCOS and have just started having my period again on my own after 10 years. Do you ever wish you had waited longer to get preggers so that you could have lost more weight? How much did you gain back with your pregnancies? Welcome!
  6. I'm going to the dr on the 20th. I have PCOS and hadn't had a period on my own until I got the surgery. Now I have a period about every two months on my own. I will NOT take birth control pills to control it. I'm wondering if they might put me on glucophage because I want to get more regular so I can get pregnant soon. I'll keep you posted. Have you had kids already?
  7. It only has 30 calories and it has enough fiber to offset the calories....it is worth it for water and protein intake. I love them! South Beach Diet also has a version with 3 grams of protein that is pretty yummy, too. If you like mix ins for your water these are great to get a few more grams of protein in your diet.
  8. Be careful with the chips and salsa. I ate a couple too fast the other day and then I was stuck when my enchilada came to the table- it looked so good and I was frustrated! It was a corn tortilla enchilada and it wasn't very good when I reheated it. My husband chowed it down though when I didn't want it. He's starting to get mad because I keep giving him my extra food!
  9. Me too. I love it and love to eat it at the movies still. The only difference is I order a medium & have them fill it up only about half way. I eat it one kernel at a time and chew chew chew...yum I love it!
  10. Sorry to burst your bubble...but the McDonald's hot fudge sundae has 11 grams of fat, 333 calories, and 7 grams of protein. I guess it's not the end of the world if you have that for a meal once every 6 months....but you should think about the nutrition info. The other day I got a breakfast meal at Mikey D's thinking it wouldn't be too bad. When I got home and looked up the info, I had eaten over 600 calories!!! It didn't taste good enough for 600 calories....I gotta tell ya!
  11. most places have mashed potatoes and soup...
  12. Hey I grew up in Plano & my family still lives there!
  13. My surgery approval was postponed for two month while I got counseling. I was very annoyed! It was not the insurance that didn't approve though- it was the doctor. I was supposed to get 3 months of counseling, but the counseling recommended that I was just fine and could go through with the surgery. The two months in retrospect went by like wildfire.
  14. Cher- will the entry price be the same at the door?
  15. I've lost half a shoe size so far...I never had any problems with my shoes before, but one thing I notice is that I can squat on my hindquarters for a long time (like when picking stuff up off the floor)- where before it cut off my circulation and made me want to pass out!
  16. I doubt they will let you have the sugery if you don't have someone to take you home and take care of you. In most cases you won't be cleared to drive for a week after surgery. You need to have some kind of support in your corner. So pick your best of friends or your mom or somebody like that to help you out and keep your secret.
  17. Cher- How many people do you anticipate will attend? What if we are bringing a support person with us...do they still have to pay the full 150? I don't want to come if I'll be going alone & I don't see my mom wanting to pay 150 to get her skinny butt in the door! :tongue2:
  18. How much will the entry fee be for the conference? I'm thinking about using a sick day to fly down on Friday from Wyoming. My mother lives in Plano & would probably go with me, too!
  19. One of the only people who asks me this regularly is another woman in the building who had the procedure done. Everytime I walk by she says Hi Skinny! It is great, it's almost like a little inside secret. She is a skinny minnie now, and she is showing her support that I'll be a skinny minnie soon, too!
  20. Please update me! Slow progress...but at least it's closer! 271.........199.........221...........22
  21. I wanted lapband surgery for a long time but hesitated. Then my aunt had a heart attack, my sister had a baby, and my best friend died. It was enough to covnince me!
  22. I think I might have it a little bit backwards. When I was in high school 11 years ago I was a skinny minnie. No that I'm losing weight so fast, I feel like my old self. Everyone says oh you look so great let's take a picture. I feel good and skinny. Then when I look at the pic it's like a slap in the face- NOPE STILL FAT!
  23. Hi everyone! I am at 3.5 months out & I'm starting to lose my hair. For those of you who had this same problem...what worked to get it over quickly & how long did it last for you? Thanks!
  24. Whoa that was like reading a suspense novel. I'm so glad it had a happy ending! I'm proud of Yaz for sticking with it. I have to say though that I NEVER had buyer's remorse for my band. I had my first pb today & I as SO excited I wanted to tell everyone at work (of course they wouldn't have understood). I love my band & I think we shouldn't say that everyone regrets it at some point...I don't believe that's true.
  25. All that fat has to get out of the body somehow...
