  1. I'm 10 days out of surgery and every time I watch TV the food commercials drive me nuts, of course I won't stray but they're really bothersome. My parents are morbidly obese and constantly ordering fast food and eating junk in front of me so all I smell is the food that got me to 276 lbs. It's killing me. Will this go away? I don't want to crave junk anymore :[ - Kaylee Ann
  2. Lucky! I can't have Beans until 2 weeks out and my brother dumps on Peanut Butter so I'm afraid to try it. Hummus is ok for you? I love hummus - Kaylee Ann

  4. I'm on liquid lortab too, and also had my surgery 6/11/12, so many surgery buddies :] just remember to walk, it hurts at first but will eventually make you feel better - Kaylee Ann
  5. Yeah I'm finding I prefer liquid too, I LOVE sugar free popsicles and usually start my days with Protein shakes and have to coax myself to eat solids - Kaylee Ann

  7. My biggest fear was my liver being too big, and even though I tried to stay away from carbs as much as possible (my kryptonite) I ended up caving right before surgery and the day prior to my operation I had 2 bagels in the afternoon and frosted mini wheats for dinner! Good news? Miraculously my liver was perfect, which is crazy because I was a carb-oholic. Don't worry I'm sure yours is fine. Good luck! You'll feel so relieved when you wake up :]
  8. Hello :] My name is Kaylee, I am 20 years old and am 9 days post op from my RNY gastric bypass. My heaviest recorded weight was 276lbs and my weight before surgery was 263lbs and as of today I weigh 252lbs. Still in a decent amount of pain and am relying on my pain killer every 4-6 hrs, but am finally able to walk around a bit without holding my left side (my most painful incision) Required to consume a minimum of 80g/protein and 64oz/fluid a day, is that similar to your experience? If I didn't drink 2 Protein shakes a day (20g/protein each) I'd never make that protein quota. Can't wait to get off pureed foods, but am thankful for eggs and sugar free popsicles :] Can't wait to get to know all of you!
  9. I just had my surgery june 11th and boy was I nervous, especially when I got that call and that meant I had to start my 1 month prior to surgery clearances. It didn't really hit me that I was about to have surgery until I was in my surgery bed getting prepped [not to mention I'm terrified of needles] but you really shouldn't be afraid, after they get you cleared to go in to the operating room they put some calming medicine in you that honestly makes you not give a crap, and this is coming from the most neurotic hypochondriac on the planet. It wasn't as scary as I thought and I'm already down 10 lbs and man does it feel great. The hospital stay was lame but so so so worth it, you'll be fine :]
  10. My surgery was June 11th too! I haven't noticed any swelling because let's be honest my stomach is naturally swollen right now lol. Still lots of pain though, working through the pain helps the healing. Good luck!
