  1. Any one out there have to travel after having surgery? I will be six weeks out Tuesday, and will start traveling again Monday. I am interested in some eating out ideas that you have been successful with?

  3. My one out there following the Denver Kaiser diet restrictions? I am 3 1/2 weeks out and I am going crazy being bored with my limited choices for food. Who has branched out beyond that?

  5. I had Dilaudid for pain and didn't need it much at home. I went back to work after a week. Only issue I had was getting tired easy bit was just working on a computer for the first week back. Second week back I had no issues working.
  6. The Isopure was described by a friend as liquid feathers because it sticks in your throat like you are drinking feathers. It is terrible.

  8. I have lost 66 and haven't really felt any difference in my bad knee. My Doctor told me once the bone is damaged nothing brings it back, but the pressure relief will help some. I am still getting used to not taking Advil as that made a huge difference when I could.
  9. Congrats. Things will go well.
  10. I know exactly how you are feeling. We were on vacation the second week of my liver shrinking diet. It was so hard watching my daughters eat pizza and fried seafood. It was all worth it. I lost 20 lbs on the diet for a total of 53 leading up to surgery, and my surgery was on the 19th and it is going great. Stay strong and it will all be worth it.
  11. I have the same problem that started the day after surgery in the hospital. Every dice I can't sit for long without getting up and walking cause it hurts too bad.
  12. I think I would have liked to have taken the test as I have no idea about all those things.
  13. I did not have to do a swallow test. In Tuesday am, out Thursday am.
  14. Can anyone tell me when it is okay for me to eat a communion wager. I forgot to ask the nurse. I am 1 1/2 weeks from surgery and eating mashed potatoes and cream of wheat and such. I would like to take communion tomorrow if it is safe.
  15. Practical research says 66 lbs makes a difference. I think by exposing more it makes a difference according to my wife who is the expert.
  16. I also felt it was not too bad after the first couple of days. It is important to walk as much as you are able as it helps with the gas and the pain. I am 8 days out and feel great. Just a little worn out still. I also focused very hard on walking prior to surgery to help me be in better shape. I started at 389 lbs 3 months before surgery and was 336 on the day of surgery. That was a huge help. Down to 323 at the Dr. Today.

  18. Some surgeons leave a drain in your belly for a few days after surgery. Not all Dr.s do. It is to monitor the fluids that drain for infection.
