I spent 9 months researching WLS and I have recommend Reserch to anyone that wants WLS. You need to know everything there is to know and then some.
You were born with a mouth and the gift of talk ask questions don't be afraid. Learn Learn Learn. The only way WLS will be a success for you now and in the future is to be informed.
If you think this surgery will be to hard on you pass it up nobody will look down on you.
If you can't handle changing your life style this surgery is not for you.
It's not the cure. WLS is just the key you have to make this work.
If you have done your homework and you see that in the future WLS was a regret maybe you should have done more home work.
Now some people have had bad luck with WLS I'm sorry for your pain it should have not happened.
And then there are people like a friend Katy who wants WLS but the doctors won't do it Becuse of her long medical history 5 years ago she was health happy out going worked as a delivery room nurse. Today she can't walk and now her arms are giving out, the bitch is the doctors have NO IDEA what's wrong with her.
MBROCK please im not aiming this at you. you sound like a smart lady and at the time WLS was a wise move. Like my friend Katy life gangs up on you and all you can do is fight as best you can
Again I'm sorry for your pain WLS is not for everyone but we don't know that till its to late

Talk to your nutritionist about your food problems they are there to help.
Myself I just have to try different foods to see what will stay down and what does not sit well.
My doctor just kind of yelled at me Becuse I'm not getting in a enough calories and Protein.
He said to start adding in Protein Bars like Adkins or Quest bars for a snack or Meal Replacement.
Got to get the calories up and Protein up to get body out of starvation mode. That will help you lose weight a little faster

Being a man and I'm not taking sides nobody deserves to be abused. Only you know your husban has he always been like this or is it just since you desired to have WSL has he been acting like a jurk.
Men are very protective of what we think belongs to us and are afraid somebody other then our selfs will be playing with our spouses. And this is how he lashes out. We can can be very childish at times regardless of our education.
Hope everything works out for you if not move on.
Remember Children first then your self and everyone after that.

I hope so because I'm getting pissed !!!! I am half OK with it because I do feel the difference in my clothes, I just want the scale to move because when you see those numbers go down it is the best feeling ever !!!

Somebody said what does not kill us makes us stronger. Yah but it hurts like hell for a while. You will get pass this in time. Good luck on your surgery.

Your self esteem is about to get a huge boost. Your husband probably is insecure even though you say he's not... A secure man wouldn't find it necessary to call his wife names like that. Those types of comments are meant to drag you down. Because as long as you are over weight, - some where in his mind- you will need him... He knows your weight keeps you with him...I wish you the best! The reason I say these thing is not to bash your husband, but its because I have been in your shoes... You will be so much more confident... You are not a doormat. And every woman wants to and deserves to be CHERISHED!!!

Hey there I was(still married same man) in a very verbally abusive relationship. Hubby even hurt my kids feelings but they don't know it since they are special need. I must have been such a special person that people right here in this group starting praying for me. I was not about to continue letting this man hurt me. A miracle from god happen & so many prayers that suddenly my hubby stoped verbally abusing me & the kids. He changed from being a jerk to being nice. He is even calling me sexy. Complimenting me all the time. When I thought there was no hope there is.
Being a lawyer or w.e. Doesn't mean you don't have feelings. You are human just like everyone. Put your foot down & I did put my foot down boy did I have enough. You are strong & counseling does help if people accept wrong doing. Wishing you all the best.

Every family has their problems. My brother and I have not spoken to each other in over a year. All Becuse of a word he has used but did not like it when I used it on him. Can we all just grow up.
You have 2 children that need you focus on them and let the rest go their way.

Looks like there are a few of us that had their surgery the end of July.
Everyone loses at their own pace 1-3 lbs a week is doing just fine nothing to be ashamed of.
I have lost 33 lb since surgery and my doctor says that is just great. You don't want to lose to fast it not health
Stay away from the scale 1 time a week or you will drive your self nuts

I meet with my new trainer tomorrow. He's had WLS and is now a gym rat so he understands what I need the last guy was in it just for the money.

To day has to be the best day I have had since my surgery.
I went to my Endocrinologist to day my A1C was 7.1 down from 9.8 just 3 months ago and with no Med's at all. The best part is they are going to let me go 6 months before my next appointment WITH no Med's. My A1C hasn't been that low in 20 years . Blood pressure was 114/54 with no Med's Cholesterol was 145 .
So weight lose surgery does work

DL you are my mentor and hero. Do you work in the medical field or do you just read a lot about WLS . You have got to be one of the most knowledgable persons on this Fourm and have given out some outstanding advise. My wife and I have tryed to read everything we could on the subject and now Becuse of our daughter in college studing nutrition/ culinary has got us reading up on nutrition.
