  1. Ankinrae - don't hate me.... I didn't have to do a pre-op liquid diet at all. As a matter of fact I spent the weekend before my surgery in Vegas (I stuck to my nutrionist plan that I followed for awhile prior to though. It was just healthy eating a a limit of 1200 cals a day)
  2. I had initially only told my immediate family, my best friend and boss. However, since I was off work for 5 weeks so many people are/were concerned they are asking how I am doing, noticing the wright loss and asking what kind of surgery I had. So far I still have not explained what I've had done but I feel bad because I am usually very transparent in my discussions with my staff and colleagues at work. Feel like I could start yo open up but holding off just yet. Needed to feel very secure first I think....
  3. I am early on out - 6 weeks. Honestly, I do not miss anything at all. I have no cravings, have been to birthday celebrations, pot luck lunches, etc and am happy to have my protein and a taste of a vegetable. I am full, content and happy to be losing the weight!
  4. Mistymae WOW! That is phenomenal - what did you do differently?
  5. As little as possible. You likely won't have the desire to do much. Just slippers, loose cloths to go home in, brush/comb, toothpaste and a toothbrush. I brought some eyeliner to wear to go home - cause I don't go outside without it. That's about it. Was home 2.5 days from surgery and didn't feel well enough to read etc, just either slept or walked.
  6. Wow, amazing changes! You look 20yrs younger now too! Congratulations on your hard work
  7. Both are very normal. There is no possible way you could eat enough at this stage to really gain 2lbs (that would require you to eat 3500calx2 I order to gain). It is water retention. As for your BM's, well...liquid I usually meant liquid out for me too. Took about 2+ weeks before things started to get more ...mmm...solid
  8. Totally understand. This plagues me after every single surgery. Gravol helps.
  9. He really changed the lives of so many! What a huge loss to his community and family.
  10. That is so sad. I have known quite a few people here in Edmonton that went to him. I personally went through our Bariatric clinic. But have heard such tremendous praise of him. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, colleagues and patients.
  11. Yes, please do post the links. These would be very interesting to read.
  12. I feel spoiled, I was off for 4 weeks as per my doctors requirements. It was ideal. Although, I did not have any complications - it did give me the opportunity to get started on regular foods and tracking etc. it was ideal for me
  13. Great idea! I'm going to do that right now!
  14. Nope no drain for me either. Two friends in Edmonton who had surgery around the same time, one had a drain the other did not...no idea why
  15. OMG fabulous girl! Congrats! 10 lbs away for me....I can't wait to join you

  24. She recommended I have min of 64oz of h2o, over and above any tea or milk that I have. When I was at home recovering it was really easy since I could schedule my intake and make sure it happened. Now I typically drink my Protein shake on my way to work and have a bottle of Water with me that hold approx 20oz of water. I am trying to make sure I get that down by noon but since it's so crazy I am not always able to. Once I start falling behind next thing I know it's 2/3 pm and I am not feeling well and notice I've barely drank any water. By then it becomes even harder to drink, at least that is what I've been noticing. Yup I am eating my lunch usually 2oz of a solid protein and a piece of broccoli or a brussel sprout or two. Just the water. I am on the phone and computer a lot and often in meetings. I have those contiguous water bottles to drink from but they make so much noise in meetings that I think that it's distributive. Any ideas on different water bottles maybe? I feel like I should know how to make this work by now but it keeps occurring. What kind of methods do you use to keep you water intake I check through out the day?
