  2. I had my surgery 7/1 and so far have lost about 70 lbs. I was pretty much your same size and height. Surgery day I was 242, so a little less. the care and appointments after have ceased as they couldn't get their books right and I only saw them 3 times, basically until I got fully on solids. But my primary does all my bloodwork and everything is great. I am at a stall now, but I think my body needs to catch up to my mind. And my hair is finally stopped falling out.

  15. I originally was going to get the band. But after I started doing my own research, I realized the sleeve was more for you. It's all preference

  20. My surgery is scheduled for 7/1 also. Luckily I only have a week pre op, so I start next week.

  22. My surgery is scheduled for 7/1 also. Luckily I only have 1 week of preop, but so so not looking forward to it with all he things I have going on that week.
  23. Thanks. That's pretty much my timeline. I'm hoping!!

  25. I don't have an apt with the dr until the 27th and then I leave to go out of town the next am. And of course they just have me leave a message for the dr. So I'm looking for help. What kind and what vitamins should I get to be ready for 7/1? I know everyone is different, but just the basics I guess.
  26. BCBS had me do a 6 month supervised diet. They wouldn't take any family history in consideration. It was all on me
  27. I don't have to lift anything at work thankfully. And at home I have an office with a couch I would lay on to work from my laptop. Home with cleaning I have my husband as well as a housekeeper. So I'm ok with that. I've already started freezing meals and shopping for the house for about a months worth.
  28. I actually changed surgeons. I started this journey September 2013, and just got approval 6/6 and am scheduled for 7/1. the new DR got everything handled as of 4/28, that was my first visit with him. I would honestly look for a new DR.
  29. I sit in a desk all day. Literally. I work for IT at a beverage co. My surgery is on the 1st, and I plan on going back on the 7th, and I have the option to work from home if needed. I know everyone recovers differently than others, just looking for some insight.
  30. Congrats!!! Mine is in exactly 2 weeks from today. Good luck & hoping for a speedy recovery
  31. My surgery is in exactly 2 weeks. The stupid conversation started because my dad was talking about a family beach day a few days after my surgery and if I would be able to come. So I decided now was a good as time as any. I'm 36, multiple miscarriages, massive migraines, and knee problems that make it difficult to even go to Disneyland 1/2 day. I'm the big girl with a pretty face. I'm just tired of it. There's more to me than just that. Oh well, in 2 weeks it'll all start to change.
  32. Thanks ladies. My mom and sister have both had plastics, and just aren't built like me. I am 5-4, they are both 5-9+. I told my parents I weight 232, and my mom told me that's a lie. I told her, no it isn't, but the great thing is, I wear it well I guess. She told me that was almost 100lbs overweight. Yep, I know, hence the surgery mom. But we are also 15 years apart, so it's more a sister relationship sometimes. I guess my entire life I've wanted approval, and I wish this would've been one time she was ok with something I did. But this is for me, and no one else. I don't see her that often, so she will see the results in a few months when the weight is more noticeable.
