Cooking with bread crumbs...
I have had meatballs with no ill effects from the bread crumbs. I even ate chicken parmesan coated in bread crumbs.

How do we know if insurance covers surgery
I logged in to my insurance website and sent a message asking if bariatric surgery was covered.

Just had Surgery
I never had any gas pain, but I understand that walking is key in dissipating the gas. Follow your team's instructions for diet and rest up!

Broth question?
You can, but it is high in sodium. I like to simmer some plain chicken broth with dried rosemary and thyme and then stir in a smidge of Better than Bouillon. It is so savory and delicious.

very confused
I was just reading another thread where someone said that happened to them. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/296212-undecided-lap-band-vs-sleeve/ I started out wanting a sleeve and that is what my doctor suggested.

Couple of food and timeframe questions
I just tried steel cut oatmeal and Sleevie Ray says "do not like!" Sheesh, I couldn't get down more than 3-4 bites before I felt pukey.

EGD Tuesday, 1 more visit
There is nothing to dread about your EDG. They will give you a light sedative and next thing you know you will be wondering when things are going to start even though you are already done.

Endoscopy findings...
I am only 6.5 weeks out and have lost 25 lbs. Being almost 60 years old, the weight is not falling off, but it is slow and steady. I have two ruptured discs in my lumbar spine and have plates, screws, and cadaver bone in my cervical spine. I am feeling lots better even though I still have some bad days with osteoarthitis and spinal stenosis.

So, that's pretty cool, I guess....
Yeah, I want to see some pics. Normal pics would be good, but it is okay if you blank out your eyes and let Laura-Ven draw in some cartoon eyes.

Endoscopy findings...
I had gastritis and an ulcer. I took Aleve for many years. I no longer take it and my back pain seems to be better with the little weight I have lost.

So, that's pretty cool, I guess....

BCBSTX
It was in an answer to an inquiry message I sent them through their message center.

BCBSTX
I have BCBSTX and I called them just a few days after my paperwork was submitted. They told me I was approved but the letter had not yet gone out. The woman I spoke with said that she would contact that dept. and put a rush on it. I had my surgery date by the next day as I found my approval online and emailed it to my doctor.

Chocolate and Junk Food
I think I got over my sugar cravings during my pre-op diet. I haven't had anything sweet since before 12/3. Once in a while I think about a candy bar, but not enough to bother going to the trouble to buy and eat one. I am happy with sugar free Dulce de Leche pudding, yum!

Couple of food and timeframe questions
Artichokes are somewhat fibrous which can be an issue.
