Disappointed
I know how you feel.....there are a lot of people typing and thinking what you posted. I had surgery on 9-10, and I haven't lost anything in a week. I think this surgery makes you crazy and obsessive about what your body is doing, and what you are doing to your body. I am hoping it gets better, from what I have read on here it will.

4 weeks out!

Denied-Anthem BCBS
There can't be only 12 in the U.S......there are at least two near me that I know of. One is 30 min away and another one just over an hour away

Can't get my protein in
I was sleeved on 9-10 and have been on liquids until my appointment yesterday. I always have a drink in my hand. That's why I like the Nectar.....because you mix it with water and you can count that toward protein and water intake. I think that is key. I am never hungry either, but I know if I don't drink my protein there will be negative side effects.....and if you don't get your water or powerade zero or something, you are going to get very dehydrated. I think you need a glass in your hand all day long and sip sip sip.

Can't get my protein in
I had some Body by Vi shakes from a previous weight loss trial......so I drink one in the morning with 3 scoops of protein and 8 oz of soy milk (24g). I drink one nectar pack in the afternoon (24g protein) and one 15g drink in the evening. Do you have any of the Nectar? My doc's office carries the product in the office and I really like the Caribbean Cooler......tastes like a Pina Colada to me You have to find some sort of protein that you like. Are you at least getting your fluids in?

My doctor doesn't want me to have the sleeve :(
I don't think your going to get a different opinion from a different doctor. Honestly, that is a medical reason.....a real reason to choose bypass over the sleeve. Sorry You'll do great though. My husband had the bypass in 2004 and he is doing great.

cramping contractions after every sip of liquid
I have had stomach cramps on and off since I had surgery on 9-10. It's really bad with plain water. My doc wrote me a script for Levsin also known as Hycosamine. Its for stomach cramps, melts in your mouth and tastes like mint. It helps a huge amount....takes the cramps away. Also, I have Ativan for a back up for stomach cramps Good luck

Anyone else? Can not stomach protein shakes all of a sudden....
Try using soy milk

Nausea after surg?
They will give you anti nausea meds through your IV while your in the hosptial. After, you should have something for home like Reglan or Zofran. I'm beginning to realize that my doc had all this covered as they called in prescriptions a week before my surgery to the pharmacy so I would have everything I needed at home when I got home from the hospital.

First couple days post op diet
My instructions are to get 64oz in a day, anything you drink. They want 32 oz to be from water. The other 32 can be from crystal light, powerade zero, gatorade zero, vitamin water zero. I can have broth, sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles. This is what I'm on for the first two weeks post op.

Cream based soups.....
Two things after reading this thread...... 1. You all made me hungry 2. I am going to need a hand blender
-
what is so bad about regular cheese?
Good to know, thank you. I have had lactose problems pre-surgery.
-
no two week liquid pre op diet
My doc had me do a 2 day liquid diet, and then for two weeks post-op. It's basically Protein shakes like the nectar...I can have milk or soy milk so I have been doing one shake a day with soy milk and some left over Body by Vi shake mix.
