For the record, I'm not being a 'jerk'. If I wanted to be a 'jerk', i'd be going into individuals' threads, winding people up, calling people names and the like.
    Ringing any bells?
I think most would observe, I haven't done that - even if by implication, you think I have.
Humorously, I would hazard a guess - those getting most offended by my rant, are those most likely to identify with the pattern of behaviour observed...
If that's you? Well, sorry, but this is a 'rant and rave' section (as keeps being endlessly repeated).
If you don't like it. There's a door... I suggest you use it ------------------------->

I agree with RJ...Revs is a great gal. She eloquently states her case and sometimes, in the rants section, will go off. She will defend her position and laughs at herself.
Another side of Revs...She is a great supporter of the people on this site. When I was just trying to figure out if I wanted to have surgery, I came to this forum and asked the redundant questions. She didn't berate me for asking, she helped me and gave me advice. She will help anyone - she's a great gal with an incredible writing talent - some may disagree with her statements, but that's OK; we don't all have to agree with everything everyone says. It's in the rants section - rant back if you want! And just as we all have the right to not answer the millionth question on the best Protein shake, we all have the right to ignore this particular thread.
Have a great Friday everyone...Keep posting, keep responding. We are all bound by this incredible journey (sorry, Revs, I couldn't resist). We are one big dysfunctional family - some days we play in the sand box nicely, some days not so much. Sending much love to everyone.

There are thousands of people on this forum and majority do not feel this way. I am one of those people...But I also have known Rev's for as long as I have been on this forum and she is a totally different chick then the rest of us....Her writing skills are the bomb. And she too like the rest of us can have a bad day and write about it...
Actually I am surprised that she has not responded to her own post because that is not like her either....I think I will cut her a break because I know she is a wonderful supporter and loves to help others as much as I do and others...I can't help but like her. She sees the world in a whole different light..And at times I don't agree with her but it does not change how I feel about her...
If you have a bad day or write something that others don't agree with I will give you a break as well. We have no idea what is going on in others minds or lives that make them speak out....I myself have done it and regretted it and hoped people would understand that I am human like themselves....It was yesterday. Today we look at the new thoughts and ideas that will help each other.......
I am glad you are here and I like others and even Rev's will be there for you.......She is a great lady and sometimes makes me laugh. Just at how she sees life.....

Allow me to take a moment and join in the "I Heart Madam Reverie" group.
I can't put my thoughts down nearly as well as most people on this site, and I always admire those who have that skill. And to do so, and elicit a chuckle or three, kind of makes my day sometimes.
    Be well…

Madam Rev rocks! I only wish I could say it so eloquently. I think under the glossary such as IMHO the initials STALL should be listed with a definition of "an undetermined time period where you don't lose pounds which can start and end from day of surgery til death".
Furthermore, I admit this week I am traveling cross country by car, obsessing about my hair falling out but not starting a thread on it (because I have researched it, when the post "Am I DOOMED???" just about sent me over the edge. I apologize but ya know, we are all human. This group is the best thing going and I would not trade any of you! Hello, we share stories of our poop, sex, weight, hormones, men, hair, boobs, plastic surgery. etc. Where else can you be so honest about our lives with complete strangers and not get in a rant or two sometimes. Relax friends, and enjoy Madame Rev because she is the funniest person we have here. Gotta love her!

No, Revs stays. She is a refreshing breath of fresh air and a truly unique individual. This would be a poorer community if she left. If you don't like diversity on this site, perhaps you should take your own advice.

There are lots of great options out there. I was more than happy to ladle out broth when I needed to. Panera and other restaurants will be glad to do it, too. Most customers want the opposite, so they will happily give you a cup of broth. Squeezable apple sauces are good, single serve hummus cups (sans the crackers) or cream cheese with a spoon are fabulous. My NUT also recommended KFC's mashed potatoes and gravy on puree because they have no lumps.

I love my Wawa (gas station and convenience store) for Jerky, string cheese, fruit cups, hard boiled eggs, almonds, yogurt tubes...

Don't forget the deli at your grocery, too! They are happy (well, maybe not, but I don't care) to slice one or two cuts of deli meat or cheese. I often have them cut me a bit of roast beef and horseradish cheddar, grab a few olives off the olive bar, and have a great lunch for under $2. The salad bar always has chicken salad, seafood salad, and Pasta salads with Protein mixed in. (I am not above picking out the Protein and leaving the pasta!) The seafood counter always has cooked/peeled shrimp, so I will buy 3-4 of those at times (less than $2!) and add them to my seafood salad. Lots of options. You just have to ASK for them.

Here's a few pics of my sleeve journey so far. The first collage is pre-op and 1 month post-op. The next is months 5-6-7. To date, I've lost 73 lbs, dropped from size 20-22 down to an easy size 10 . The weight loss has slowed down to about 1 lb a week, and I really need to get exercising more regularly to tone and tighten what I can. After 7 months I find that I need to keep diligent about my eating habits ; my sleeve feels good restriction but the brain wants "more". Got to work on that!

I just had my base weight weigh in and my first appointment with the LPN is in October. But I have all my appointments set and ready to go. Actually will be done with them before I visit with the LPN for the first time! Just started the south beach diet. My dr wants me down 5% before surgery. That is a requirement for all his patients. I would love to be down 10%. I'm on day 2 of the first phase and it's tough! It's getting better! I have a friend who did it and met another woman locally. I'm excited... Not nervous yet... Looking forward to a new and improved me!!
    Anyone local just starting out?
