  1. Go to the gastric sleeve forum, then main, you should see insurance and financing
  2. My surgeon appt is the 3rd of February. So, a little less than 3 weeks away. I don't know how to get to blogs on the phone app
  3. Are there any to add to my list? I don't wanna forget anything. I have one more meet with surgeon and then start my preop
  4. Then I'll put that on my list. I can't have bananas Bc I'm allergic to them, but I love some peanut buttah
  5. I hate the isopure. It is so nasty I thought I was gonna hurl. I did go to herbalife and they have this peach mango beverage mix that tastes like Kool-ade. It has no sugar, and 2 carbs and 15g protein for 8 ounces. It DOES have 70 calories so I can drink it before surgery on my preop. I tried one in the blender with ice and it was like a sno cone.
  6. Might pick up some pb2 for after I come home in case I want a peanut butter taste with my protein shakes. Have y'all tried that?
  7. Not sure. The vets say not to overbuy foodstuff. So I'll have a few different types of sf drinks and mixers, Popsicles, bottled water, broths and soups to strain, jello and premier chocolate rtd shakes. So I'm pretty much set for my preop and post op.
  8. It's normal for us to have that freak-out moment. I'm still freaking out. But I sat down and made a list of the things in my life that this surgery could possibly do for me and a list of the ailments I'd suffer from if I didn't get it. If dying is on your surgery list, well it'll definitely be on the "what will it be like with no surgery" list. The obesity-related deaths are so scary. You're so young and I only wish this surgery were available when I was your age. Talk to your doctor, explain your fears and listen when the dr explains precautions to take to prevent clots. This surgery is a life-changer and you are given blood thinners. You will be up walking around a lot, you can do this.
  9. There was a thread about lower body aches and pains but I think it was joints. I can't find it now. Anyway, the gist of it is that when we are heavier we walk to compensate for that weight. Just like if you were carrying two 10 pound bags of potatoes. You'd walk differently and that weight puts pressure on specific areas. Well, as you lose weight your gait changes. You'll walk differently. Your spine and joints are changing. That can cause pain and aches. Especially from the lower back and below. If it's Charlie horse-type us let cramps it's probably a need for potassium and magnesium. April
  10. Thanks Chris!! She's already planning to eat healthier and has started doing yoga, which she is eager to teach me some of their stretches. I know she'll be my biggest cheer leader
  11. I swear I look almost exactly like you do in your before pics. Same curves and figure. I can only hope to do as well as you have. You look amazing! April
  12. I'm presleeve but I was already told to expect to lose hair Bc of exactly what LMD said, and that due to the change in hormones (especially estrogen) from the surgery and losing weight, that it is possible to have irregular periods and skin breakouts. April
  13. You are rockin n rollin. I hope I do as well as you do when it's my turn. April
  14. Thank you. I do not give her half the credit she deserves sometimes. I still think of her as too young to tell these things to and need to realize that she's a young adult. April
  15. Making sure I have that stuff and a heating pad, lots of bottled Water with flavor drops, making sure my house is in tip top shape. April
  16. Thanks, Bella!! She is a sweetheart.
  17. My biggest fear is the dang IV. I know it's pales in comparison to having an actual surgery, but it's what I dread the most. I figure on the preop, since I get 2 meals of protein n veggies a day I'll likely be ok, I try not to think about that IV. Maybe I won't faint this time. Lol April
  18. She may even want to check out the site. They also started a new forum for friends and family. Keep up the good work!!
  19. Wishing you the best of luck! They say the first 3 days are the hardest on the preop diet. I hope we all feel the same. It'll be hard, but worth it.
  20. Awesome!!! That's the date I actually go in for my final preop appointments and then I'll be 2 weeks after you. You got this! April
  21. I did the same thing with a bag of potatoes!! I've lost 11 pounds pre-surgery and was disappointed in myself until I did that.
  22. Thank you, she will be a great support person. It's odd you posted here. I just read your introduction post and googled sleeve placating. Definitely keep in touch so we can see how you're doing. It seems like you're doing great to me. Btw, cute little baby I'd actually put "cute little girl" Bc I was thinking about my daughter and about died when I hit send!!! I'm a dork April
  23. Mine is so different. A shake for Breakfast, half a shake for lunch with protein n veggies for lunch, dinner is same as lunch. Lots of fs fluids. The preop for me consists of a meeting with my surgeon, PA, EKG, chest X-ray, final labs and a 2 hr nut class about life post surgery.
  24. I don't have a husband Actually, I stayed with my sister after hers and told her she could just drop me off at the door for mine. Her recovery was so easy. Either she or one of my aunts will stay with me, I'm sure. They got pissy when I told em to just drop me off. Lol
