  1. Homewood Suites, what's the price like? Is it comparable to the others you already mentioned??? I just dont' want a Comfort Inn or Days Inn. Otherwise I am pretty flexable... and the close proximity would be nice too. Its nice to hear from Lynette, you look FAB by the way! I had Easter Dinner with my Mom and DH at her Seniors Residance. We had HAM, Scalloped Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots. Sweet pineapple sauce on the Ham (Yuk) I ate all my HAM and 2 brussel sprouts and 3 carrot peices. The potatoes were looking like they'd get stuck so I left them. But I did eat my dessert - a tiny bowl with brownie & 1 spoonful of strawberry icecream... That was plenty for me... and ya NO easter eggs LOL
  2. Try it one morning, it just might be the trick!~
  3. here we go again.... I am trying to update my pic
  4. That's just great, now do you think you can Photoshop OUT my glasses??? LOL
  5. My advise is to EAT SOLID foods... For breakfast have hot thick oatmeal, with Skim milk, blueberries, crushed walnuts. Yummy, take tiny bites, CHEW well and delicious. lunch have meat, chicken, FISH 2-3 oz. first, then veggies, then grains.. eat in that order... When I am tight in the mornings I can't even get tea down or a protien shake, but I can always Eat the Oatmeal...
  6. Jackie; You are beautiful!!!! Love those jeans Janet: Is that the top and skirt you just bought???? Looks very nice...your co-workers must really be impressed with your weight loss. You are so close to goal now... Rock on!
  7. My gosh, I can't beleive you went through that!! Flew all that way and they wouldn't fix it? Crap! Had you booked your surgery with Kathy and had all your prelim. chest xray and blood work and EKG done ahead of time too??? I am scheduled for re-surgery FRIDAY 28th. My band&/or tubing is leaking and not holding a fill.... I'd better not get there and be dissappointed. I'll keep you posted. (((hugs))) Peaches
  8. well I just tried updating my AVATAR and my picture is too big. Does anyone have any suggestions for making it smaller???
  9. Good morning! Well, so happy that I can finally post today. Yesterday was intermidably boring and I tried MANY times to post.. no luck. I did sign onto the 'friends' thingy so we'll see what's up with that. I did 15 min on the rowing machine Friday... 5 more than previously.. Thank God for "ELLEN" she kept my mind occupied while I sweat. LOL Watched a good movie last night "Atonement" WWII venue very good acting and story line. Kinda a chick flick though. The only attraction for hubby was that it took place in WWII. only 6 more sleeps until my surgery, I'll be so glad to have it over with. It's been a long wait. No cost to me, I just had to convince my Dr. that my band WAS leaking! Linda, sounds like you have more bad weather up your way. Sorry about that. We are all getting pretty tired of winter here in Ontario. Ice piles everywhere, my Dear Doggies have been cutting their paws running around the back yard... Squirrels are everywhere though and very active, a sure sign of spring... I think they've run out of hidden nuts the winter has been so long!!! Janet: YUMMY Lamb, can't remember when I had that last... sounds so good.. I'd better get my meat meals in this week as I may have to go back to liquids for a while after surgery... but at least that will kick start my weight loss YEAH!!! Have a great Holiday weekend everyone else! When is passover this year??? Peaches:w00t:
  10. Hey girl, nice to see you agian! It's been awhile but you are always welcome ya know. 50lbs is wonderful, and you can get back on track now... we will be here working with you. I have stalled and am getting "new" equipment next Friday. Either a new tubing and port or a whole new band.. Depends on what he finds once in there..But I am not holding saline completely... But I am not giving up, I even dragged teh Rowing Machine out and put it in front of the TV yest. Did 10 mins. I know thats not much, but its a start!!!
  11. Hello, I am having re-vision surgery next Friday. My Doc suspects that I have a tiny leak in my tubing... You stated that you had to go under general anesthetic for the proceedure... So did you have to have the gas pumped into you abd. again too?? What was your recovery time etc? Also, did you have to go back on liquid diet/mushies/ solid reintroduction for 5 weeks Post op? Or could you resume eating solids. Sorry, one more question - did you have to go thru the incremental fill process all over again???/
  12. How is your cold doing? Are you feeling any better??? There have been a lot of nasty bugs going around up here in the Great White North. I guess that I expected that in the warmer climates you guys weren't bothered as much in the winter months with colds and flus... Take care!!
  13. I just go off the phone with my Surgery Clinic. I have a 10 cc band too but as many of you know I've been struggling with it 'losing' fluid for the past several months.. I am to be re-operated on next Friday, 29th March and I am so glad that the waiting is over... I am very tight for a few days after a fill and then it loosens I have 10.6 cc's in my band (according to their records)... I sympathize with you Salsa cause neither of us is where we need to be... (hugs)
  14. Dear Janet; we miss you!! Hopefully your headache will let up today and you'll feel like your old self again... oops,, not that your old! Just your usual perky, skinny size 10 self LOL... Still wearing those jeans inside out???? (((hugs)))
  15. I love your humour even though it is born out of discomfort. I confess, I want to TRY that diet!!!!
  16. Well, I am glad to have found this thread... I was in OA before.. for 3 yrs and it was successful for me. Its a lot of work. I guess right now I am able to do step 1 I am a compulsive overeater and my life is unmanageable. 2) Came to beleive that a power greater than myself can restore me to sanity. 3) Became willing to let that Higher Power remove my food addiction...? is that right , Am I remembering step 3 properly.? 4) Made a fearless inventory of our wrongs. ...thinking that I am somewhere between #2 & #3 ?
  17. Then I crush up several cloves of garlic and fresh rosemarry. 2 tsp Olive Oil... I RUB this mixture all over both sides of the fish fillet... Then you can either pan saute or bake in the oven. I prefer the frying pay method, but it is a bit smellier the next day (hee, hee) But this is my FAVORITE fish. 2nd in line is Tilapia, and I cook it abou the same way, but leave off the rosemary.... as Tilapia is a very sweet, delicate tasting fish. ALso you can always Shake n'Bake your fish.. very easy.
  18. So sorry to hear that you are so tight... that is no fun at all. If I am that tight I just wait afew days and it loosens up... but it sounds like you've already waited thru that period. You slight unfil is the best remedy, even 1/4 of a cc ... will work wonders for you. Good luck
  19. IRISH VIAGRA An Irish woman of advanced age visited her physician to ask his advice in reviving her husband's libido. "What about trying Viagra?" asked the doctor. "Not a chance", she said. "He won't even take an aspirin." "Not a problem," replied the doctor. "Give him an 'Irish Viagra'. It's when you drop the Viagra tablet into his coffee. He won't even taste it. Give it a try and call me in a week to let me know how things went." It wasn't a week later when she called the doctor, who directly inquired as to her progress. The poor dear exclaimed, "Oh, faith, bejaysus and begorrah! T'was horrid! Just terrible, doctor!" "Really? What happened?" asked the doctor. "Well, I did as you advised and slipped it in his coffee and the effect was almost immediate. He jumped straight up, with a twinkle in his eye and with his pants a-bulging fiercely! With one swoop of his arm, he sent me cups and tablecloth flying, ripped me clothes to tatters and took me then and there passionately on the tabletop! It was a nightmare, I tell you, an absolute nightmare!" "Why so terrible?" asked the doctor, "Do you mean the sex your husband provided wasn't good?" "Twas the best sex I've had in 25 years! But sure as I'm sittin here, I'll never be able to show me face in Starbucks again!"
  20. Hi Doddie and Andreea; Thanks for your comments... I did email Jill re bootcamp, I'll await her news. Didn't do to badly yest. 1500 cals in total and the scale actually MOVED slightly this a.m. 183.6 first time it's budged in a while.. Have a great day
  21. And Lane Bryant, Target, oooh Macy's I am NOT a real shopper, but I think that with the U.S. stores and all the selection, I just might have to make a small exception! Linda, I am a non-smoker are you??? Plus, I do like a 'social drink' or two
  22. Linda: I am not fussy on which hotel we stay at... really, I'll go with what everyone else decides. I am like you ... want my own bed. So we can share right??? By the time we drive there, we'll probably REALLY know one another LOL... and don't worry about the snoring, as I always sleep with earplugs as DH snores too... after 33 yrs we still sleep in the same bed. But if I hadn't found out about good earplugs I would have stabbed him in his sleep long ago!! Janet: I think your FEAR of food(the junky stuff) is healthy caution... WOW I wish I was a little more fearful of it! Have a great Sat night everyone... I'll problably be back later... I am a band widow tonight.!
  23. Well I really appreciate your honesty... The binge eating is my downfall too. You are aright about the band , I can't do as much damage as before... but some nights I just scour the house "looking" for the ultimate "nibbly" to have. Last night I remembered that there were 3 stale T.Horton Cookies hidden... well I went and dug those suckers out and ate em. ARGH! My W/L has been slow and stuck... I feel that I too need boot camp... to give myself a boot in the ass. Problem being, It is always on days that I work. Take care
  24. Phyl; Give him another glass of wine and then give him YOUR computer... keep the fast one for yourself!! :banghead: Janet: So you've picked a room -mate already huh?? That's great... I think this road trip will be such a blast.. I've been to Michigan many, many times but never Wisconsin or Minesota... Kira, glad you are back from Florida... are you going to join us at Mall of America??? O.k. did something bizarre but needed today. I went to a Hypnotist, I need to stop eating Chocolate!!! My meals have been very good, small portions but I've been stopping at Tim Hortons and having choc chip cookies (oh yeah, they go down just fine - even when I choke and PB on everything else) I am tired of being stuck at 184 and July is looming.... I want to be skinny like the rest of you when I get to M of Am. Anyway, under Hypnosis she regressed me back to childhood when I was really shamed by someone (won't bore you with the details here) and this was linked to my eating JUNK food... then after I've eaten the junk food I have intense feelings of SHAME... it was kind of enlightening.. anyways I'll let you know how it works for me... Its the "head hunger" stuff that really sabotages me... the surgery makes be eat LESS but still I am not losing,,, and I know its gotta be these 'extras'... Well, that's my true confession for today
  25. Are you stuck in your weight loss/? I have had a slow go of it too. Its taken be 8 mos to find my sweet spot... argh
