  1. O.k. I tried to upload a picture, hope it come thru... Picture of me CONCENTRATING on hiking and (not falling ha,ha) from yesterday.
  2. O.K. for exercise today my DH and doggies went on a ravine hike down into a gorge at the bottom of a waterfall. It was slippery underfoot but I was wearing my Merrell's hiking boots from our M of A trip and they have good grips on the bottom. I had to grab a walking stick though for the decent as it was hard on my knees. A lot of uneven rocks underfoot. The doggies loved it. My 14 yr old Jack Russell fell into the water at one point, she ventured to close to the edge of the ravine... it was kinda funny but the water must have been cold. Then my 8 yr old decides he has found some other dogs "doo-doo" and decides it looks quite tasty... GULP! :tt1: :cool2: no doggie kisses for me today :tongue_smilie: So I got in my workout. :biggrin:Food; Breakfast, pro shake, Snack: coffee, 1/2 McDonalds muffin, Lunch: 3/4 Kids size Cheesburger, water & tea This afternoon, I am going to catch a nap & a movie... heee, heee pretty lazy day... don't know what I'll plan for dinner? Anyone got any good suggestions:confused:
  3. oops, Sorry I am at work and trying to sneek on the computer. I have eaten horribly the last couple days. Must get back on track! But I did go to the gym yesterday and do a really good workout. 2 miles on the treadmill 10% incline and then 3.5 miles on the bike. Has anyone heard from Janet?
  4. Hey Phyl; Great Idea on the Earring!! Congrats Just to keep honest I'
  5. Just a quick check in today. I fell off the Food wagon yest. I had a great day a work, and then I tripped on some loose carpeting and did a 'header' into a wall unit at the Clinic. Luckily for me I hit hard into my uppper arm bone and wrist. Not my head. If I'd been falling 2" in the other direction it could have been a very terrible outcome. However, I am incredibly sore and bruised and swollen... I came home and put ice on it immediatley and took some homeopathic pain med. but then the ICE bag made me think of Icecream... and I caved!!!! No excuse, I am just in the confession mode... tomorow I'll start anew!!!
  6. Recovery after the surgery is really not bad, flying home should pose no problem for you at all. But I am curious, who is doing your fills and aftercare in ALberta? Is there a fee for this??? (I am from Ontario and got banded in Toronto selfpay)
  7. Aw Phyl, thanks for letting us all know what has happened.. I will for sure say an extra prayer for her tonight. Janet is one of those super kind people who is always there for EACH of us in our struggles. I hope she knows that we'll all be thinking of her now in her sorrow.
  8. Really tight today!!! Could only get a shake in for Breakfast and Lunch. Then I had a "Dreaded" square from Thanksgiaving... for Supper I had leftover TURKEY dinner with my Mom.. 1/4 cup pot, 1/2 cup stuffing, 2 oz. turkey, 1 tbsn gravy, 1/4 cup Turnip + 1 pc of pumpkin pie... CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEIN1,3031443992 No exercise today, gym tomorrow morning before work. YEAH!! Stephanie; I am sorry I forgot to mention yest about your Son's B-day party. That was indeed cruel for non of those kids to come. Does no one respond to an invitation these days??? What is wrong with the Parents of these kids??? How would they feel if it was their son. Give him an extra hug from me... Phyl, I loved your joke you emailed that one is being forwarded to all my buddies.!!! Stocks are back up today, is Earl doing the Gig??? Well I'd better go and spend some time with Hubby
  9. Kari, Your reunion sounds fantastic. I am so happy that you went and had a good time. Your food choices for such an occasion were not all that bad either. Good for you eating 1/2 of the buffet plate. My food yest. THANKSGIVING Dinner incl. CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEIN1,4741975251 Well it was fun, my DD and SIL2B were up and two of our best friend couples came for dinner so there were 8 of us. Wonderful time, and Damn I am a good cook!!! My Turnip Souffle was a big hit as it is a family fav. I used store bought pumpkin pie but also make SKOR squares for dessert. I too FILLED my plate with everything in sight but then couldn't eat it no matter how hard I wanted to. Not because I was hungry for more, just that I had 'taken' it and it was thanksgiving and in yrs past I always had at least TWO plates of turkey food. DAH! In the morning my DD and I went out to a nearby resort and met with a Wedding Co-ordinator to see where she might like to get married next fall. Well, I tell ya, "I" almost put the downpayment on the place... I am such a sucker~! I fell in love with the venue. Its on the bay, waterside ceremoney outdoors under an arbor, there are ducks, geese swimming inbehind on the bay, beautiful Willow trees, and then the mountains off in the distance. OMG I can't imagine a nicer place. Then indoors, the room is all decorated in asoft blue(grey) satin curtains, panoramic glass windows that look out onto the bay as well. And the food choices were phenominal! 5 course meal, cake, wine on tables open bar.... everything incl for $85 per person, plus the $1500 for the room... I have NO experience in this but I thought that this was a super price.... anyone have any ideas? My DD is going to go easy on the dress,($) as this is her 2nd time around and his 1st. I think she'll try and keep it to a long cocktail dress around $500. But then there are flowers... gosh they are expensive!! but can't imagine a wedding without them either? Big WALK yest. a couple of miles... it was great cause I didnt' get to the gym... but the kids, Dad and Dogs and I went out the weather was just so fabulous. And we could all talk wedding plans while we walked. It was a nice weekend. Tonight we are going to my MOM's residence and taking the leftover Thxgiving cassaroles and the 3 of us will have our little dinner there. She didn't feel up to coming out to my place with her wheelchair, oxygen etc... I guess I can understand that. Have a super day everyone, I'll be bhack at work tomorrow:sad_smile:
  10. Hooray Ruby!!! you broke the choke hold... I knew you could do it. Weigh in this morning. 177.8 down 3.2 lbs in one wk. We're on the right track.
  11. CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEIN8841213034 I may still have another snack, but right now I am sipping on BLACKBERRY TEA, you were right janet it is good. Phyl; Don't you go anywhere, you belong here always... I agree with the other ladies, time to move forward. How is Earl today? My DH and I went to see our Inv. Counselor today.. he says hold the line, everything will come back eventually.. we just have to wait it out. We are not starting to live on our retirement money for 7 more years so we have time to let things recoup. I also asked him if it was a good idea to be watching the numbers daily on the news. He said NO, it just drives you nuts... I especially wanted my HUBBY to hear that!!! "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference." I'm off to watch a movie with DH.. No exercise today.. going tomorrow! just had Cheerios and Skim milk = 190 cals
  12. Yikes, I guess we should take political comments to the RANTS section and keep this thread for support. I feel a tad responsible because a few pages ago I made comment that I was enthusiastically following the US elections with interest.
  13. just checking in. totals for today, no exercise CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEIN1,5462054868 A bit higher than I'd like but it was the 1st of a weekend of Thanksgiving Dinners... Turkey YUM!!! Skipped the wine and had dessert, but ate lightly earlier in the day.

  15. You are observant Janet, I did not go to the gym yesterday... I am going today between patients.. I have a gap where 2 people cancelled their appts. so I have 2 hours to kill and I am going to the gym then. Also, I am going out for dinner/movie with a GF tonight so I looked up what I will be ordering from the menu online and I already know what I will order. 1/4 chicken breast, no skin, dipping sauce, baked potatoe w/ sourcream & chives... all that 530 cals. So breakfast is light, lunch will also be light... its all on my food journal. Phyl, I thought Palin was a breath of fresh air for his campaign and she is easy on the eyes! Steph, You'll have a special place in your heart for Romeo..
  16. I am hooked on CNN for one thing, plus I love politics and keeping abreast of global changes. Plus, a lot of our Mutual Funds are invested in U.S. Markets as well as European.. so what ever effects you guys, effects us all. I just think its intellegent to know what our neighbors and best trading partners are doing. I voted in our election last night, thankfully there was no sparring between DH and I this time... we both voted the same way... in years past we have cancelled each others votes because He'll vote Conservative and I'll vote Liberal. This time around we are both Conservative. Funnyily enough if I was able to pick th U.s. Pres. I'd be voting for Obama... I just LOVE Him and his policies. Phyl, what is your impression of Sarah Pallen? Just curious? :tt1:
  17. oops, 1229 had 1 cup of grapes and 1 100 cal Quaker bar....
  18. Just a quickie to post Calories IN today.... 1080 Off to watch the OBAMA / McCain debate...
  19. Phyl, size 18's are awesome!!! I'll be saving some more clothes for you if you wish.... you're closing in right behind me!
  20. Oh cool, Romeo looks like a Happy Lad... good for you. I know you will find as much joy and happiness with your pooch as I do with mine. Can't imagine life without them. As a matter of fact I work late today, so I am going to go snuggle under the covers with them right now!!! Burrrrr, cold here. C

  23. Hi there, I just finally got caught up on all the posts and read yours. Dear Jackie... I am so glad you posted your thoughts to all of us and let us know whats going on. You are in good company here, many of us have mood disorders. For sure we can understand and will not judge. It certainly sounds like you got an accurate diagnosis from your Psych. No one knew I was Bipolar until I was given antidepressants in 1990. And a month later... BAM! Away I went.. Irratability is WAY common and so is not sleeping well. Gambling, risk taking those are classic symptoms. You are on a mood stabalizer that I am not familiar with.. but then I am an OLD GAL ha,ha. One thing I found really helpful when I was first diagnosed is my DH and I went to a support group for a while together, so that we could better understand the illness. Also, there are some wonderful books you can read, Patty Duke wrote an autobiography of herself and illness...very good. Also Dr. Kay Redman( i think that's it) she is a shrink but also has Bipolar... another book called the BROKEN BRAIN explains what happens in our brain chemistry to create this illness in the first place. If you ever want to ask me questions privatley just send me an email or PM. HUGS, Peaches:wub:
  24. Hello and good morning; Yes, my gym clothes are in the car!!! I've been entering my Food in my Sparkpeople.com Journal and I'm drinking my green tea.. This water consumption thingy will be the last good habit to get back on track, I really hate drinking all that water YUK. I have a huge break in my appt. schedule today, so I am going to the gym then.. worked out well....
  25. Go back to your Doctor and get him to fix it... It should be covered by HIM. My Doctor (also self pay) follows his patients for life. If there are problems that have to do with the faulty band, or faulty fills resulting in a leak that is THEIR problem.. and they should fix it for free... Stand your ground, Good luck
