Hey Janet; No my last fill was Sept 2nd, and wondered for several weeks if I still needed another cause of all the JUNK I was able to eat... remember when we spoke? Well in the last couple weeks the damn thing seems to have taken on a "life of its own" and now I am quite tight...???? Ya, I pb'd a protien bar for breaky, then finished the other half... think chewing WAS the issue here, lunch fine, Dinner... baked beans and AWK! got stuck... so now I am going to try something else, perhaps some sliced ham (sOLID) wrapped around a cream cheese w/ heart of palm for vegg. I'll let you know if THAT stays down. Are you doing o.k.? What's work like? Is it keeping your mind busy? HUGS :w00t:

Please help! Infection at port area
You poor thing! I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I am glad that the infection is getting under control and that the Dr. is confident that your Band and Port are intact and unaffected. Hopefully this is just an aweful bump in the road for you. However, the costs that You have endured? Augh, I'm sorry but I'd be INSISTING that the Dr. covered those in full... it certainly sounds like either his OR was unclean, or procedures were, or the Fill Needle was unclean... How else could that have gotten infected, as you said YOU were all checked out Healthwise prior to surgery. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and wish you an uneventfull and speedy recovery. I had a leak in my tubing, that had to be corrected with a re-surgery last March... the Fill nurse had nicked the tubing (twice) during TWO fills... anyways it was months before I could get it repaired or prove to them that I DID NOT have restriction. Long story short, everything was paid for BY the Clinic not me... I too was self pay $18K

I emailed my Fill nurse today, told her I was PB'ing 4 or 5 times per week, and haveing this ache in my chest on waking... She suggested a slight unfill .2 cc's, I am so frustrated. Couldn't eat Breaky unti 10.30 a.m. and then PB'd 1/2 of it, then for lunch I ate the TOP of a pizza, no problem... Then supper I made Homemade Baked Beans... PB'd on them too... Shizza... so now I am going to have a shake and THINK about it all. Any opinions out there??? I am open

Well let me see, what is your weight maintenance like? Are you holding your goal weight well? Sometimes being too tight creates its own problems too. I have a question for you, my lst fill was Sept 2 (have 7.25 cc's in a 10 cc band) and the last two wks my band feels like its tightened up some more on its own? Now I am liking the better restriction, as I CAN't EAT junk and I really have to concentrate on meat, but am doing o.k. with that plus I am able to stick to my 800 - 1000 cals per day..FINALLY! But my problem is now when I wake up in the morning, sometimes early 5ish I have this ache in my upper chest... its a weird feeling. Not burning like acid reflux (as I've had that before and know how it feels) and I am so tight in the morning I can't even drink coffee right away on waking. I have to wait to have breakfast, and then be REAL careful with that too. By lunch time I can eat my hard protien and supper too... so that's o.k. I was down another 1 lb this morning... so I am about that!~

No havn't heard from Karri either she must still be very busy with her new school year... its always kinda nuts unti early Nov. isn't it? I am sorry you are not feeling well Stephanie, there is a bad bug going around at work here too. One of the girls is coughing a lot and she sounds like she has pneumonia! yuk. How are the new poochies today? They would look sweet in little coats for winter. My JR's need coats for winter weather here too as it can get well below freezing. We've already had a wee snowfall... yikes:sneaky: The paint job is dry and the pictures are all re-hung, I put all the tools of the trade away and then realized that I forgot to take the masking tape(green) off the Motion Sensor alarm thingy at the ceiling in one corner of thre room - dah!! So gotta get out the ladder again. Hugs to all the NON posters today!~!! :w00t: :w00t:

Considering that this day started out so quietly on the thread, its certainly turned out to be newsworthy indeed! Phyl, congrats on your Son's plane and the flight. That is truly a miracle. You deserve to be proud. Your earrings sound nice too... Earl relented and let you buy REAL ones huh? That's cool. Stephanie; Wow, another pooch? You guys will go broke buying Dog kibble!!! But I can see how you fell in love with the girl too. Can't wait for the pictures. Janet; I am glad you got out to have some fun time. Even if you didn't stay out late. Its good to resume your normal activities. Are you eating enough? Sounds like you are getting some good sleep in.. take care of yourself o.k.? Kari; see just by posting first off its started a rush! I got some heavy duty exercise today and also stuck to my food plan. I started painting my Front Foyer, Family Room and Kitchen. It had to be done alltogether as its an open concept area so I needed to use the same colour throughout. I will have to finish it tomorrow, but I painted for about 5=6 hours today... mega calories!! WHew hew... I'll post up my calories in a minute.

12 Steps of Overeaters Anonymous
Hi gang; I am lurking back here on this thread because I've been sliding around with my food choices too. I belonged to OA years ago late 1980's and did very well. Lost my weight (60 lbs at the time) and kept it off for 3 years. That was the longest success I had ever had. Then we moved and looking for a new group was unsuccessful...or perhaps I thought that "I" knew it all. ANyways, yrs go by and my weight starts creeping up again. And time after time I lose, then regain, lose then regain more.... yada, yada... its the same story as everyone els I'm sure. I started exercising a few years back, had a bad back injury, ruined my knees and decided that o.k. I'm a lot older now and I am paying the consequences for my addiction. So I started investigating Lap Band and other W/L surgeries. I didn't qualify for Gas.By... as I had 90lbs to lose and not 100-! So I chose lapband. Problem being I was going to have to be self-pay. This took 1 year of convincing my DH and Physician who were NOT supportive initialy. I've had the lap band installed Jul07, then a repair done in Spring'08... I have lost 20 since banding, 40 pre-banding... but still have 30 lbs to go. I know I will get there with the help of this "tool" but I still have to do the "other" part... the "HEAD" part... that's where OA will come in. A few days ago I got out all my old OA books and started re-reading... I have been abstinant from junk food and sugar for 3 days.. Its a start. Good luck to you all (sorry this is so long, I just kinda wanted you all to know where I was coming from )

To say that you have been missed would be the understatement of the year :blushing: A new kitty huh? When one door closes another door opens, maybe this extra fur bundle will be just the thing to take your mind off things, even if its only momentarily... Oh Ruby Girl, what are we going to do, You and I seem to be on the same slippery slope when it comes to staying on track with this weight loss thing. I too have been horrible with my food choices of late. Janet got me bac k on track and going to the gym, I lost a bit of weight, and now I've put it back on...:rolleyes2: I wake up in the morning with the best of intentions, today I was so tight (after last nights pig out) that i couldn't get a shake down. Then I went out for lunch with an old friend (she didn't know I'd had W/L surg) and she thought I looked GREAT!!! Ha,ha... Now I ordered a Steak Sandwich w/salad. I ate the meat out of it and 1/4 of the garlic bread bun, 2 mouthfulls of salad... and I was stuffed. Then on the way home, I stopped and bought my old stand by the dreaded little round things with peanuts in them and initials stamped on the outside. No dinner for me. Ruby, you are doing really well on the exercise... perhaps you and I should talk mono -a-mono???

Unsupportive Spouse
With over 100 lbs to lose you could qualify for OHIP paid for Gastric Bypass surg. (done laproscopically) OHIP will pay for you to travel to Michigan BARIX clinics they are a good clinic, I know from experience because I took my good friend there. The wait time for a OHIP approved CDN Doc is years just to get the consult and then you wait another year or two for the surg. Get your family doctor on board, do you have any other co-morbidities? Diabetes, heart problems, High blood pressure, bad knees or back? These all count towards you getting easier approval. Lapband is expensive $18k in Toronto, and you have to go back many, many times for adjustment fills. JMHO

Donna; You are looking great! Isn't it nice to keep a photo-journal of your progress.. and we love to see them too. Stephanie; ChiRho is an adorable name! You didn't answer me, how is Rose? My dogs are both Jack Russell's, they are th long legged variety and they just NEVER tire out. Its great cause it keeps DH and I on our toes and gets us outside to exercise them (us ha,ha) I am a complete sloth if left to my own devices... just stay inside and eat bonbon's.
