Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Well going out in a bit to Ginette's for a visit with her 'hubby' then Peter and I are off to a Boat Cruise (dinner thingy) on the 30 thousand islands... its an old steam ship replica and its a sunset buffet dinner boat cruise.... it was a gift to Peter from one of his cadet units on retirement. Gosh Calories WILL be better today, I can't afford another day like yesterday... it was yummy and I enjoyed it... but it's OVER.... today so far I've just had a protien shake, I'llhave a small snack for lunch and save the cals for dinner . I AM NOT LETTING THIS BE THE SLIPPERY SLOPE, I am still loving the 173#

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Linda; You have such a fun, busy Labor Day weekend planned.. keep up with the Youngin's.... Now I am going to give you some advise.... get back to the PCP and get a different Anti-depressant..obviously the one you are taking is not doing its job... DOn't wait and suffer all fall... DO IT NOW!!! The sooner you'll start feeling like "YOU" again... and we all want you to be happy and enjoy life... Karla: Hon, you need a de-fill, you are way too tight and that is NO fun at all. Or the other solution is to drink ALL protein shakes for all 3 meals and lose weight and then your band will be a bit looser... 2 options to try. I am tired, think I need a nap, but just wanted to get caught up on everyone's posts... When I came home today, hubby didn't help unpack the van.. so I did it myself, got all the laundry going and the dogs tuckered out.. DH start telling me how 'tired' and sore our old "girl" is ... "WOODY" stayed home with DH and he took her to the vet and was reading about "doggies last days"... ie when to know its enough and put the old girl to rest... Its gotta be HIS decision cause WOODY is his girldog... she's 15 had a great life, gave us so much love and joy.... 17 pups... frisbee trials... running... she has been such a good dog... but deciding WHEN the FINAL has to come is hard... you don't want to think about life without her, but then I don't want to put her through misery either.. its so hard to tell... she's on 2 doggy morphine pills a day, eats about everyother day, says NO to the daily walk now.. just sleeps and sleeps... bowel and bladder control are still pretty good... maybe only one accident per week. I can give her that... Does anyone have any thoughts, suggestions...??? Final note to Kari !!! W T F cammon girl, if I can get back on the track you can too. What is keeping you eating junk? What is the payoff for that??? Feeling crappy about yourself with guilt? Say goodbye to that... I want you to commit to THREE days, 3 days only of eating JUST protien... 1) Eggs, Chicken(cook it anyway you like), Pork, Beef, hamburgs... whatever.. cottage cheese, yogurt... EAT at least 3 meals per day, snack between IF you are hungry on Lowfat moz sticks, turkey pepperonis... develed eggs... whatever... JUST DO IT.... don't bother weighing and measuring your protien, just eat until you are FULL and stop, have snacks after the 3 days are up, you'll feel better and in control... NO CARBS>>>>> HUGS GF, we just want whats best for you and we know you can do it!!!

Oh my God those Kittens are cute!!! I love the red stripes... Got home from camping, really had fun!!! R E L A X E D totally! and slept like a dead person... I went back into SPARK PEOPLE to check my FOOD out for THRU and FRIDAY here are the totals.. 988 Thursday, 1720 Friday... I think all in all I did quite well considering the WINE and marshmallows over the open fire.. OMG I don't think I've had blackened marshmallows for decades... they were ORGASMIC... REALLY!!! You gals that arn't getting any...try the marshmallows over a flame!!! Then my friend Jayne (next door neighbor) came to the camp too with her grandchildren(Daughters) for one night.. they are really nice kids... I thoroughly enjoyed them.. sang camp songs around the fire with them... gosh they were cute... Then today, as I was packing up to leave and come home Jayne's other grandchildren(sons) 3 came - 13yr, 6 yr and 4 yrs... total BRATS.... I was glad I was leaving.. they were there a whole 15 minutes when my patience ran out... ha,ha,ha... I guess I'll not be graduating from Granny school anytime soon. I am really proud of myself, I turned OFF my cell phone when I got to the camp. Operated the RV very well, vacuumed it out, rolled in the awning (cut my hand but not badly) figures I shoulda worn work gloves.. (note for next trip) I hooked up the sewage slinky, hooked up to shore power without electrocuting myself.. cooked my tiny steak on the propane stove... I swear it was the best tasting steak I've had in a long time... Did I mention that I took TWIG with me for company? He behaved himself very well with all the other dogs that were on sites... every animal MUST be leashed at all times so it worked out quite well, I had a big sunny & sandy plot, tied him to the picnic table and went about my business. Jayney and I went for a couple of nice long walks into the woods up and down sand dunes... nice camp site. Its on WOODALLS RV listing.... Wasaga Dunes Family Camp Ground. I can't wait to go agian

Goodmorning Karri; I am so glad you elaborated on your school. It sounds like a perfect environment to be a GREAT teacher, and also is exciting for the students. A win=win for sure... Super to see you so happy and engaged. Wow, you've got weather that you actually have to DRESS for!!! I guess we are in for a Better than average Sept... to make up for the crappy summer we all had. Linda: I been thinking about you darling, and you son in Cali... is everything still o.k. there? Sounds like the fire is geting contained from what I've heard on CNN.. I'll send hugs your way, cause I know how much you worry!!! :tt1: Janet; ahemm... check out the ticker... it moved again this a.m. I am so  that's is going down again... I can't remember when I last weighed 173 Camping tonight, but I packed only Steak, Chicken, oatmeal, Wine and popcorn... so no room for cheating... as once I am 'Parked" I can't move the RV until its time to leave... so no midnight runs to McD'd LOL Have a great day everyone... and KARI if you are reading.... NO CARBS today!!!! :tt2:

Phyl, sounds like you had a SUPER day... the exercises you are doing are great and good joint range of motion too. I am glad pain meds are working for you better... that's a big releif! When will you be able to ditch the scooter for good? Does the PT have a time line for you yet? :blushing: Karri; so glad you are back amoung us... WE"VE MISSED YOU TERRIBLY~~~~ This place just isn't as exciting when YOU are not here... How is your new school? Are you making new friends? How are the class sizes.? Its good that you have a positive story about the B-12 stuff, at least Karla will get both sides of the coin now. And be able to make an informed decision. Actually, I am trying to prove a point to {just in case anyone missed, I am stuborn} that he just can't go filling all the DANCE card for a full month with out including some "US" time too....

CALORIES/CARBS/FAT/PROTEIN687/55/11/88 **** Food today o.k., and back on the right track after yesterdays' BIRTHDAY SURPRISE gathering... it was nice of the Office gang to think of me... I have room left tonight, right now I am not hungry, only thristy... so I might have a bowl of oatmeal before going to bed... we'll see.. but for now these are my days totals. Tomorrow I venture out on my SOLO camping weekend, actually I am only going for 2 nights with my TWIGGY for company... a good book, my quilting, and some WINE.. hee, hee, hee DH says tonight at super, you want me to go out there in the car WITH you to make sure you SET up CAMP o.k.??? ha,ha,ha.... sure I said, it will probably save a midnight distress phone call home LOL... he is sweet, and I think he is regreting now that HE's NOT coming with me.. I'll be home Sat. night. as I am leaving Thurs right after work. Only traveling about 45 mins from home... but they got a HEATED pool, so I might actually get WET this summer after all!!

Janet, see why we love you so much... you have a HEART as big as the MOON!!! You are a very special lady- Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
1) Can you afford it? 2) Is there not a supplement that you can buy and take by tablet form, say in the Drug Store?? I have heard (and I'm no expert) that only Gastric Bypass folks don't absorb nutrients as they should (because their stomachs have been re-routed) and therefore can become B-12 deficient. (which you get from meat). I have never heard of a Lapbander not being able to get there nutrients from FOOD, vitamins orally, etc... Nurses out there, what do you think?- Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
CALORIES/CARBS/FAT/PROTEIN2,107/275/77/56 Overboard, the girls at work, surprised me and took me out for BIRTHDAY DRINKS after work tonight.... I had to work until 8 p.m. and then I met them at the restaurant... THey were a couple of drinks ahead of me... but I caught up!! WOW, maybe I'll have to re-think wanting to quit my job after all.. It was a very nice outing and COMPLETEly unexpected. :w00t: - Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
{I loved this, someone sent it to me on my B-day} Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio "To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My=2 0odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:" 1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.. 4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. 8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it. 9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck. 10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. 12. It's OK to let your children see you cry. 13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it. 15.. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks. 16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind. 17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. 18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger. 19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else. 20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer. 21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't s ave it for a special occasion. Today is special. 22. Over prepare, then go with the flow. 23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple. 24. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. 25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ''In five years, will this matter?". 26. Always choose life. 27. Forgive everyone everything. 28. What other people think of you is none of your business. 29. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time. 30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. 31. Don't take yourself so seriously.. No one else does. 32. Believe in miracles. 33. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do. 34. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now. 35. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young. 36. Your children get only one childhood. 37. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved. 38. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere. 39. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd Grab ours back. 40. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. 41. The best is yet to come. 42. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. 43. Yield. 44. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift. It's estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title '7%'. I'm in the 7%. Remember that I will always share my spoon with you! Friends are the family  - AMEN - Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Me too Kari, consider YOUR butt severly kicked  >>>> there, did you FEEL it???? Just kidding honey, its hard to get BACK to BASICs, but that web site that Janet gave us a couple of pages back was what "I" needed to hear... its free ... so USE IT> They send you a motivational ditty every day.. I am EATING MEAT, MEAT, PROTIEN.... for a full 3-4 days... no veg, no fruit, no CARBS.. except for what is in my protien shakes. After this, my cravings for JUNK< CRAP: SUGAR... etc.. were WAY down. ' PLUS, I get actually FULL after eating my protien... the band is working again for me... NO SLIDER FOODS & mmmmm NO POP(soda whatever you Yanks call it),,, you don't need that liquid - it is not good for you, depletes your CALCIUM in your BONES!!!! It has NO nutritional value whatsoever... don't put it in your BODY! You are a religious gal right? Well, think of it this way... God has gifted you with a healthy body, YOU have the responsibility to respect what God has made and to FEED it accordingly... Don't put JUNK into God's creation >>>> YOU! {o.k. stepping off my soap box now.... and in the future when "I" wan, you ALL have my permission to quote the above BACK to me!!!} Had a great B-day, filled out my gratitudes list this a.m. and I am truly blessed with the BEST friends in the entire world... Carla; I slept in until 11/30 a.m...!!! MEDS!! Just reading about your day ahead makes me want to go back to bed.... But alas this is a good quilting day.. Rainy, shitty... this was August? Went out for dinner last night with Kids and my almost 2nd daughter... was really fun! But the SODIUM killed me.. I ate really well all day, kept my totals under control but I ate some Spanish Olives... and they were SALTY... poop, I'll just have to drink more Water today and flush that thru... I want a LOSS on my B=day. o.k. back from my Sewing Room... did my BLock of the month for JULY ( I am behind) It was a horrible pattern, the instructions sucked!!! I had to call the Quilt store 2 times to get clarification, and still the block does not look like the one in the picture! Oh well, its done now after 5 hours of swearing... argh... I am going to do HAND quilting tonight in front of T.V. that will calm my nerves again Just eating my supper now, Barley/Chicken stew... its a reheat from a couple of days ago but its stil tasty. ANd some good news, my Gastric Bypass Friend called this aft. and we are going out for Dinner and Movie tomorrow..- Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
WHoa.... here are some BLasts from the Past!! My neice Jenny, sent these to me on facebook tonight.. Crap, look how skinny I was back in the Day.. Meaghan was a little tike... so cute Gotta love the GLASSES!!!- Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
CALORIES/CARBS/FAT/PROTEIN950/88/29/58 Thats it for sat night food, 2 glassses of wine... steak..yum... no bread. 6 french fries (accounted for ) Didn't eat lunch today though,, kinda got away on me.. Now next week, I gotta add some exercise!!!!! I've got the food under control, only had one WEE food thought tonight, but i talked myself out of it... cuse it was almost bedtime, and I just KNOW it'll repeat if I eat anything this late, so I'm just drinking my "Tea" and taking my night time pills and then hopping in the sack. Oh yea, and the prednisone that the Doc gave me on Thurs is calming "things" down...not quite so itchy, I can sleep thru the night agian... Inflamation is going down too. Just wish I did'nt have to take these pills for 10 days... they say they can increase your appetite... and I sure don't need that!!!! Sleep tight, bugs & hugs, Can:tt2:- Typical LC meal
Hi Joe and others; Like you I have had my ups and downs with the scale since banding. After the 1st year I kinda got stuck between 178 & 180 for a whole year. My bandster friends have been a great example for me and currently I am 'back on track' and losing. NOw its only been a week, but I feel like I am in better control. I hate to admit it but I had to say GOODBYE to my Sugar!!! I am eating the SOUTHBEACH way, although the first 3 days I did Atkins = no carbs... just meat/poultry/fish & green veggies only.... I got the cravings out of my head and now I am researching everyday for lowcarb recipes, but high enough in protien that I am satisfied. For the longest time I kept telling myself that "my band is NOT working".... well this past week has proved the opposite. The BAND works fine, "I" am not working WITH the Band... get it???? I use spark people.com to track everything I eat and then you can plunk in any recipe and tweek the ingredients and IT will figure out all the nutritional value - so that you can keep your CARBS to a minimum... I've lost 4 lbs in the last 6 days, so I am encouraged. I beg you to do the same, YOU CAN DO IT....:frown:- Anyone in the Barrie, Ontario area?
Hi Goober; I am going to PM you with my personal details... ie. phone, real name etc.... Then perhaps we can tee up a meeting in Barrie or thereabouts for a "coffee or SKIM MILK LATTE" sound good? Peaches:tt1: - Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
