  1. 'Denise, I am sending HUGS and prayers for wellness for your Mom... It is so hard to see them hurting:sad: I visited my Mom today, and she was doing o..k.... she woullllllldn't go outside to look at the gardens... she's just content to sit inside and read or watch T.V. Wish I could get her to do more:bored:
  2. Oh my gosh, I have to EAT my words... Remember when I was complaining about the 'ditz at the front desk'..... Well, I got to work today... and she THANKED ME PROFUSLY for helping her out of a tight spot yesterday with the Computer!!! I just about poooped my pants.... so that made me feel better and actually, she was rather pleasant today! hummmm Ah, and tomorrow I have off!!! YEAH!!!
  3. Congrats on the Pregnancy!!! Oh my a Grand Mother again??? Errands today, my OHIP card was about to expire (Aug 31) and I had to go down to the Gov't offices and get a NEW photo taken and let them know I continue to want to be a TISSUE/ORGAN donor if I'm ever found dead somewhere... I know its morbid, but I truly beleive in Organ Transplantation, and if you don't sign the little card - your wishes might get missed. Dropped in on my Mom for a couple hours, read teh news paper together... its hard for her to keep up a conversation as she gets out of breath so easily... But that's o.k. she is Happy just to have me sitting in the room with her. IN an hour I go off to work, man I am dreading the place most days now... that is not nice... as I LIKE my Laser job and I love my patients (99%) of them anyways... its just the ditz at the front desk... I can just see her scowl when I walk in... even though I saved her 'bacon' yesterday, that won't ever be mentioned... or a "thanks Candice for helping me out"... GOOD NEWS, tomorrow I have the day off and Peter and I are driving to pick up the R.V. then "I" get to drive it home... Peter will be driving our other vehicle with a tow of Wood befind it...( don't ask, more wood for the Shoppe?) Today, he's building an "URN" for a friend of ours... her DH passed away a few years ago and Peter made his URN to hold the ashes... Well DW likes it so much she hired Peter to make one for "her" ashes... (when the time comes its all ready) May be a cottage industry there???? Humm???? Have a great day ladies!
  4. At work, between patients right now... so I am gettng a FREE laser treatment while I wait.... I am ready to KILL the fulltimeer on the Front Desk. I got to work this a.m. and ALL the computers are down. We've had thunderstorms all weekend, so I know what the problem is.. the Modem, Switch & Router need to be reset... before all the computers are turned back on.. Well, SHE just wouldn't listen to me...!!! She kept panicing and telling the customers that were waiting.. "OH we're having tech problems today" I dont' know What I am going to do???? I tried to tell her... nope, she's not listening.... She's gonna call the computer guy..... ARGH.. I said POLITELY, "Can I make a suggestion Lori?" I think I know what the problem is.... Oh, just wait... I'll reboot the computers agian... (that won't work as you have to disconnect in sequence - and she is STILL NOT LISTENING TO ME) OmGosh! After fritering away 30 minutes with all of OUR patients waiting, she finally lets me speak.... I get on my hands and knees crawl under her desk and re-set the Modem, ROUTER, & Switch... she didn't have a clue how to do it... but she was hell bent she wasn't gong to listen to me either!... Anyways, I get all the wires unplugged, WAIT 2 mins for the reset. and replug everything back in... VOILA!! can you beleive it? Candice actually KNEW how to solve a problem!!! Dozzy ding-bat!!!
  5. um, no I think it is just a joke. I LOVE the fat quarter web site!!! I am cross addicted now!
  6. 3.5 lbs, wow that's awesome Phyl... you are doing all the right things in prep of your surgery!! I am so happy for you... 2 wks will fly by. Definetly NORDSTROM's that was a cool store for sure!
  7. Ah I know what you mean about finding the "RIGHT" bra... those little things are elusive at best!! sINCE i FOUND THE black and tan version of the OPRAH bra's last yr at mal of amer. I have worn nothing else... I love them! Another dear friend(Ray) had his KNEE replaced last week here in Canada... I asked him "hey did you have to go to special class to learn the best positions for SEX after surgery?" Well he hadn't heard of it and replyed.. "SEX? are you kidding me - My idea of "A GOOD TIME" is getting on and off the camode by myself".... ROTFLMAO We took him over "swiss chalet chicken" for dinner, its his favorite and lord knows he can't drive right now... it was a HIT... He was very glad we popped over, then we stayed and played a round of BOGGLE... which was really fun, cause Ray being on Percocett's was kinda at a disadvantage.. and Peter and I cleaned up!!! How many more sleeps until your surgery? RAY is so glad that he got it done... the discomfort from the staples is nothing compared to the Pre-surgery pain of just walking.. He is totally pleased with the op and wishes YOU well too.
  8. Glad you are trying the CASSOULET~~~ it really is yummy... and very lapband friendly. Don't work too hard - pace yourself the year has just started!!
  9. Oh LInda, that firepit sounds divine!!! MEl needs a deadline, cammon really????? Yes, our weather is suposed to turn HOT here as well. It was COLD overnight, I got up and put a 2nd quilt on my bed (just on my side, Peter is a furnace) He's outside today, building a new WIDE gate to accomodate our RV when is c omes on Wed. I am taking the day off work so we can drive it home in tandom. the WEDDING DRESS  ah, I've been screwing around with my food this last past week. Using the strees of RV shopping as MY excuse... but now that's settled, the scwabbling has stopped and I need to get RE-motivated!!!! I only have two months... WHy am I so content with 176???? I just don't get it  Well, back from fabric shopping for the back fabric to my Baby quilt so I'd best go and get it sewn together so I can start quilting it!!
  10. MOntana humor.... LOL IN Canada we say .... " if this Van's a-rockin' , don't bother knocking " Gosh I was up early today!?!? Don't know what's up with that.... Pretty sure that I'll be fading early today.. OH and Karla, thanks so much for that Web Site Fat Quarter shop... I already ordered enough fabric to make a quilt for a friend...She said she'd pay me to make her a quilt... so there ya go... it was fun!! I may shop on line more often.. Prices were good too.
  11. Candice, when you head south you can drive west to Montana, spend some time in Glacier and Yellowstone....see Karla and me...and THEN go south. You know what I'm going to tell Jeff tonight during pillow talk....how unfair it is that we can't retire :wink2: You are such a bad influence :nanahump: Stephanie; I would love to drive out across to Montana... how cool would THAT be! But I'd have to stop at Dear Linda's first in Sheybogan!!! I can hardly wait to see it and drive in it and camp out overnight... I know I sound just like a little kid! ;< )
  12. Congrats on the RV Candice! Looks nice! Joint replacement class all morning... learned a lot. Was pleased because some people inferred it might be a waste of time and it was NOT! Have a whole folder of stuff to look at, including "Sex after Joint Replacement", complete with pictures of suggested positions! Old people pictures! TMI! At least they all have clothes on! LOL! I do have a new list of questions for the ortho surgeon when I see him for my pre-op appt next week.... none related to the afore mentioned pamphlet! Phyl, I gotta find some 'new' positions!!! Can you email me?? Remember, Peter dosn't have an artificial knee... but I am sleeping with a RETIREE now - so I am sure there are some adjustments that we need to be making:tongue_smilie: Also, the RV dosn't have a QUEEN size bed, its only a DOUBLE >>>> :nanahump: I don't know how we are going to sleep in THAT... when we are used to a KING in the house..OMW :wink2: Shopping for a new flat screen TV this weekend to put in the van. Then Peter is going to remove 1 or 2 of the seats and make an armoir for extra closet space. There is a microwave and a toaster oven built in..
  13. Its o.k. Linda, I actually understand Spanish a bit more than the French...LOL I'd love to make a road trip to WIsconcin.. but I doubt that it'll be this summer... We are going up to Temagami the week after next to my DSisters place... That'll probably be our Inaugural trek in the R.V. got so much to do at home this week. Peter started tearing down the fence in the back yarad today, to put in a New Gate for the RV to fit into the backyard... so that'll keep him busy for a few days.. Twig does NOT like being tied up to the laundry line...:wink2: Woody took her advantange and made a bee-line down Red Oak Drive away from the house helter skelter... for an old girl she was running pretty fast!!! Peter was calling it the GREAT ESCAPE!!

I too had DRY EYE problems, but this time my Dr. gave me Acuvue Oasys and they are plenty wet enough for me.. I can wear them all day at work. Just gotta through 'readers' on occasionly LOL :sneaky: DH has gone off to check on another RV, its a 3 hour drive away so we'll see what happens with that!
  17. RV lady called back this a.m.... she won't go for the low ball offer, she counter offered and I said NO we are holding firm. SHe has another couple coming on Sunday to look at it. THen she'll decide if we can have it for the lowball offer! I hate this waiting game!!!
  18. WEll, I just did it.... I called another RV lady and offered her a low ball $$$ for her van... She didn't say no immmediately.... she wants to sleep on it.. and call me in the morning! Now I have to go and tell Peter!!!
  19. Yes T.J., I have been following your posts... You certainly are a brave one! Will you be able to sue the Lapband doctor who messed up your case so badly? $400,000 is a ton of money... thank goodness for your insurance. But I'd be wanting to get my $45,000 back from the Lapband Dr.!!! All bitterness aside, I am very glad you are on the road to recovery... HUGS, Peaches
  20. For Sure we'll all keep positive thoughts for Tracy. She is such a doll, you are blessed to have such a nice daughter.
  21. No I have never made a Yo Yo quilt.. Making all those little donuts circles would drive me crazy!!! But I have seen them and they are beautiful in their own way. Food yest. not too good, so I'm not posting it... don't want to give anyone else IDEAS
  22. Maybe the Best Blonde Joke Ever! Two blonde girls were working for the city public works department One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind her and fill the hole in. They worked up one side of the street, then down the other, then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day without rest, one girl digging a hole, the other girl filling it in again. An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, 'I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting in to your work, but I don't get it -- why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again?' The hole digger wiped her brow and sighed, 'Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-person team. But today the girl who plants the trees called in sick.'
  23. Janet, hugs to you GF... all these female tests... yuk... well the trans vag ultrasound isn't too bad. I found the worst part was drinking all that liquid first... I can't hold my 'water' for very long at all. YOu'll bb fine, I am possitive that ALL your tests will come back clean... so don't you worry your pretty little head about it o.k???? Think of it as routine maintenance on a Ford Chasis!!! oops I meant Chrysler!!! At work today, I want to quit... havn't got the guts... there is never a good time to do it... but I think I've made up my mind.... then I think about all my patients that I will miss.. :-( They are the ones I really go in for... most of them, like 98% are super people and I do get attached... Now Peter is having second thoughts about the RV... OMWord what will I do with him? WE put a deposit down on one yesterday... and today he is saying "we were hasty, I hope the offer dosn't go thru!" ARGH!!!
  24. Karla, I know what you mean... the costs of materials just to put into the QUILT are WAY more than the $170... people just don't appreciate the WORK and TIME that goes into making one... Their loss eh? Once a buddy of my DH came over for a Music rehersal... he walks past me in the family room, I am quilting and watching CNN... :he says "what are you doing? The last time I was here (2 wks ago) you were doing the same thing!!" I replyed that I was making an Heirloom quilt... he says "Geesh, why don't you just buy one at Walmart for $35 ????""" Peter had to restrain me, I was going to put a quilting needle through his THICK head!!!! :smile2:
  25. Welfare A guy walks into the local welfare office, marches straight up to the Counter and says, " Hi... You know, I just HATE drawing welfare checks. I'd really rather have A job. " The social worker behind the counter says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur And bodyguard for his beautiful nymphomaniac daughter. You'll have to drive around in his Mercedes, but he'll supply all of your Clothes. Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll be expected to Escort her on her overseas holiday trips. You will have to satisfy her Sexual urges. You'll be provided a two-bedroom apartment above the garage. The starting salary is $90,000 a year. " The guy, wide-eyed, says , 'You're Bullshittin' me!' The Social Worker says, 'Yeah, well... You started it.' p.s. girls check your email, I sent you the recipe for Cassoulet. :smile2:
