GETTING MY SLEEVE BANDED...
Before you get banded, track your calories for a week strictly, see what changes you can make, then implement them for the next week. See if that helps. You might be experiencing a stall. If so, look into tips for fixing a stall. I would talk to your surgeon first before undertaking another serious surgery, especially only over a year out from your last one.

Anyone else gain from surgery?
Your body might be retaining to as many fluids it can intake. I imagine complications would lead to inflammation. If you're sincerely concerns, contact your surgeon.

How to build muscle postop
Ah, thank you so much. This post was great. I was really confused because I remember "maintenance" being 1200 calories. I wasn't sure if it was because of our metabolisms slowing or what. Thanks for the advice, man. You cleared a lot up.

How to build muscle postop
Hey everyone. I'm a bit confused about this. If we're stuck to a 1,200 calorie diet, how will we be able to gain muscle? I'm just wondering. Thanks!

August sleevers && preop diet
Hey friends! My surgery's the 13th. Excited with all of you. I find that the more I stick to it the easier to becomes. I'm going into the fourth day now. I realized that for this preop diet, I REALLY have to slow down my eating. Sometimes it takes me an hour to drink some broth, have some veggies, whatever it is I'm allowed. The hardest part now is intermittent hunger and realizing I'm about to go into a habit (grazing, picking up a food and then being like, "WAIT! I can't it this." My plan is to take it hourly.

This is Hard
If you're not able to keep any fluids down, and by that I mean anything, I would tell your surgeon. What is keeping you up at night?

Lets get real here.
Fight the head hunger! I know it's hard to do, and easy to say, but you have to fight it.

how long does it take to get everything done and approved for the Gastric sleeve
Insurance depends on your insurance company. The consultations from the individual specialists, doesn't take long, but more likely than not you'll need 6 nutritional counseling sessions for insurance. As far as self pay, it varies depending on your surgeon and the doctors you guy for consultation. I'm self pay and I want to say I'm having surgery 1.5~2 months later from starting.

Beans.... Protein or Carb
With food, it's best to stop viewing them as "Protein" "Carb" and "Fat," but rather their individual macronutrient components. Websites like MyFitnessPal help you look at it that way.

1200 calories of liquid?!?!
Wow, I'm starving on the liquid diet. Day 2/14. I suppose just keep eating/drinking. It shouldn't be a problem until you're sleeved.

Belly skin on a man
I think it really just depends on your body. You may get some extra skin, you may not. Just keep up with the oil and lift weights.

No weight loss, cant get fluid and prtein in :(
How many ounces of Protein shake can you get down? Amp makes a Protein powder that's 60 grams of protein for 12 ounces, so not the much for a lot of power. Try that one. It's Amp Wheybolic Extreme 60. It's pretty good if you like things sweeter. Just keep sipping. It will get easier. This isn't a race, it's a life style.

FitBit Aria and Body Fat %
I wouldn't worry about the body fat %, in all honesty. Yes, you're losing muscle, but you're also losing fat. To prevent this, keep exercising and lift weights. It doesn't matter your sex, just lift weights. When it comes to body fat %, the only ACCURATE way to measure that is through measuring tape or doing the test where you float in Water (I don't remember the name). Most likely your FitBit is using some current to check, which can be thrown off by a lot of factors. Measure yourself and check your body fat % that way. If it's true you're just losing muscle, which I highly doubt, talk to your surgeon and keep up the Protein and exercise. Hope that helps!

5 days out
I've heard that if you're always hungry, you might need to try an anti-acid. You're most likely not feeling hunger, but you have alot of acid.

Almost no restriction- depressed and stressed
Did you get the sleeve? I've never heard of that.

Why do some spouses seem so threatened by wls?
Because in a way, at least in my mind, it's a rapid change in you that they have no say/control/input in. You're literally changing without them. And in another sense, by losing weight you might gain a sense of power that you didn't have before. It's important for you two to have a strong communication with each other, even after the surgery. Make sure he feels secure in who you are. Even open up about some insecure things with him. Gauge your responses.
