Robyn Cabrera got a reaction from ElyQuint in July sleevers please check in..
Sleeved 7/22. My starting weight was 362. Day of surgery was 339. Today's weight is 262. The sleeve was the best decision I ever made! Hunger is starting to come back a big but is still very manageable.

Robyn Cabrera reacted to becogolfer in Slice of pizza
I met with my nutritionist and surgeon this week. They were extremely pleased with my weight loss especially given my lack of muscle loss. I asked what they thought about having a slice of pizza. Each said that if i got in my Protein. (70 gms) and Water for the day it was fine. My doc also said that having the occasional indulgence was in his opinion a better habit than trying to be perfect all the time. This was of course with the caveat that i was keeping up with everything else. The 2x i had a slice i lost weight that week and met all my goals as well. I think everyone is different. but check out what your healthcare team thinks about it and be a little leary of others on any forum whose opinions maybe moreinfluenced by their own fears of how theyare doing than on any studies ormedical practice such as your bariatric doc and their team.

Robyn Cabrera got a reaction from jensjoy28 in VSG: status symbol?
OMG I waited almost two years for my surgery and in that time, I think I told every person I talked to. Lol. People are going to see a drastic weight loss so why not be upfront about it!

Robyn Cabrera got a reaction from NMJG in Cauliflower alfredo sauce
I just saw this recipe and I thought it sounded like a good one for my fellow sleevers. I haven't tried it so no testament to how it will turn out. If any of you try it, let me know how it is.
Cauliflower Sauce
Tastes like alfredo sauce with only 50 calories in 1/2 cup instead of 500 calories in 1/2 cup Alfredo
8 large cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
5-6 cups cauliflower florets
6-7 cups vegetable broth or Water
1 teaspoon salt (more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon pepper (more to taste)
1/2 cup milk (more to taste)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Garlic: Saute the minced garlic with the butter in a large nonstick skillet over low heat. Cook for several minutes or until the garlic is soft and fragrant but not browned (browned or burnt garlic will taste bitter). Remove from heat and set aside.
Cauliflower: Bring the Water or vegetable broth to a boil in a large pot. Add the cauliflower and cook, covered, for 7-10 minutes or until cauliflower is fork tender. Do not drain.
Puree: Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cauliflower pieces to the blender. Add 1 cup vegetable broth or cooking liquid, sauteed garlic/butter, salt, pepper, and milk. Blend or puree for several minutes until the sauce is very smooth, adding more broth or milk depending on how thick you want the sauce. You may have to do this in batches depending on the size of your blender.
Serve hot. If the sauce starts to look dry, add a few drops of water, milk, or olive oil.
you could add Parmesan cheese as well

Robyn Cabrera got a reaction from NewSetOfCurves in Feeling great today
I've been pretty bummed with the liquid diet considering that I did it for 3 weeks pre op and have 2 more weeks (4 total) post op. But... Today I got in my car and had to move the seat FORWARD!! I don't think it's moved from all the way back since I got the car. Woohoo.

Robyn Cabrera got a reaction from Madam Reverie in Controversial - The evaluation of before and after. Healthier by definition, but does everyone who is VSG'd really 'look' better?
About 2 weeks before my surgery I started kind of freaking out thinking what happens if I'm ugly afterwards??? I don't think I'm ugly now and my friends and family assured me that I wouldn't be. Hope they weren't just being nice ????

Robyn Cabrera reacted to Reigo in Probably going to freak out a few coworkers!
I am always in a hurry in the morning and don't make time for Breakfast before I leave. I decided I want to eat some kashi Cereal which fills me longer but I always forget milk and don't want a whole half gallon for the office as I am in and out of my office (work in 2 locations, sometimes from home and travel for weeks at a time outside of the country). While hunting for a small container to bring a days worth of milk in, I found my old breast pump milk containers with lids for breast milk! Holds 6 ounces and it's perfect but it may completely freak out my coworkers to see breast milk containers filled with almond milk in the fridge! The upside is, no one will steal my milk
