I shouldn't complain in the fact I haven't lost that much weight so fast as other people have. cause looking at this picture I have lost lots of inches.my pants & tops are fitting me big .so if you don't see results in pounds you will in inches so keep your head up we can accomplish anything we put our mines to do.

TonyaA got a reaction from TwinsMama in Eating Little, Losing Nothing--Dang Stall!
Sleeved 7/24, at my one week post op dr appt I was down 17 lbs from my pre op appt on 7/17. So that was 17 lbs in two weeks time. I have weighed myself once and my scales say I've gained 2 lbs. I've decided not to weigh myself again until I go back to my dr in Nov, that way I'm consistent in the scale. Although I don't feel like I'm losing, my clothes show me that I am.
Congrats to us all!!

Yes and Yes, mine are getting smaller but longer. I had to get new bras this weekend. I was like pretty soon, they'll be down to my knees.
Why can't they just get perkier as they get smaller? Really is that too much to ask???

TonyaA reacted to ASKSARAH - Sleeve in There is a toddler in my pants!
So I have these pants I thought still fit and since I have a sun burn I knew they would be a little loose and comfy,
So I put them on they were so big that my 40 Lb 4 year old climbed in with me and we took a photo. I got him in further when I held him closer.
But a friend on here told me you guys would like this. A fun visual!

TonyaA got a reaction from jessileigh in Birmingham, AL Area Sleevers
Greetings B'ham Sleevers! I had my surgery on July 24th at St. Vincent's East and Dr. Schmitt was my surgeon. He and his staff are great! I had minimal pain after surgery, haven't even popped the top on the liquid pain meds! I took a week off work to recover and just finished my first week back at work. Overall my experience has been very positive. I am just now getting my 64 oz of fluids in daily. I have bought some high Protein products from Bariatric Choice which has helped me get my daily Protein in.
I would like to meet other Sleevers from the area. I am planning to attend the support group meetings that are held monthly at St. VIncent's East.

I really like the chocolate Premier Protein shake, but the vanilla was starting to get on my nerves so I've been playing around with flavors trying to make it more enjoyable. This morning's experiment was a keeper!
I threw all this in the blender
One ready to drink Vanilla Premier Protein Shake
One scoop Unjury unflavored powder
2 Tbs PB2 Peanut Butter Powder (bought on the advice of folks here, found it at Kroger in the organic section)
Some Water and ice
It tasted fantastic!!! The PB2 is awesome. It was close to 16 ounces so it took a while to drink but it was yummy.
Here's the specs
16oz of liquid
56 Grams of Protein !!!
9 Carbs
295 Calories
Strange the things I get excited about these days ... It used to be "I can eat an entire McD's Cheeseburger in one bite" now it's "I got in 56 grams of Protein before 9am"

Like I said, it was pretty scary for me to post these pics, but I have to say I wasn't prepard for how emotional it would make me to read the positive stuff. 39 lbs is not a lot compared to what some people have lost, and it's no where NEAR my goal weight, but it's the most I've lost in 20 years and it is SCARY. Knowing I can come here and not be the only one who feels that way, and feel safe is pretty amazing!
Thank you for the support!

I understand about not wanting to post pics. I haven't wanted to post any on Facebook for fear of judgement not because i care all that much i just didn't want to see some of the negative comments. I understand it's different here as were all in this together but i just recently posted pics for the first time in a private weight loss group i joined on Facebook. I try to tell myself i'm not self conscious or at least that i was but i'm starting to realize maybe i was more than i wanted to admit.

TonyaA reacted to vinniej3 in End of 2nd Day Post-Sleeve
Well, I made it through. These past few days have been rough, but manageable. To be honest with you, I was completely out of it yesterday. However, I made myself get up as much as possible to walk the halls. This morning was the roughest for me, and think it has to do with the oral pain medication. I have twice; the first was from drinking too fast (it may have been my first foamie?), but the second was definitely related to the medicine. I'm pushing to get as much liquid in as possible, but like so many people have said before, it is tough. I guess I kinda took it for granted. Anyway, the point of all this is to say I made it through two days, and I'm starting to feel a tad bit better. I've got a long way to go, but at least I've finally begun the journey!

I had my first post op dr appt today. I got my staples out and learned that I am down 17 lbs in the past two weeks! Yea me!! I also now know that my scales weigh me 5 lbs lighter than my dr's scales. Good to know, but I plan to only weigh once a week.

I have not had Ice Cream since surgery (almost 4 months out) but I do eat Ben And Jerry's frozen Greek yogurt to curb that craving. Maybe give that a try. The good thing is it has Protein in it!

TonyaA reacted to Ashlee K in Went out to dinner. 14 days post op
I went out to dinner tonight with my family. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was ganna be. I ordered just the salad bar. I had cottage cheese, ground chicken and I bite of my mothers cat fish. I only had a bite it two of each and I was stuffed. It wasn't as awkward as I thought it was ganna be. I was still able to have fun and it meant so much to me. I finally learned today you can still have a normal life. Big revelation. Did I mention I'm stuffed. I am also on a purée diet. Life is getting better.

TonyaA got a reaction from kw2walker in July 2013 Sleevers
I was sleeved on July 24. I had no pain other than the gas pains. Per my doctors instructions, I started my full liquid diet today. My only complaint is that I have had diarrhea ever since my surgery. I do my one week follow up and get my staples out on Thursday. I am not highly concerned about my BMs other than I am still pushing to get 48 oz of fluids a day.
Congratulations and good luck to all!!

I had my surgery Monday (7/22), all went well.
Some do experience different affects from med, gas etc. Don't panic this surgery is not a one size fits all.

I've lost a little over 5 pounds in three days and I feel fantastic. I'm not really hungry but when I fix myself something (i'm on a liquid diet for 3 weeks)it tastes good and satifies me. I can't be happier with my surgical outcome. Now if I can just get my big fat belly to quit pulling on my incisions I will be totally pain free. I only have pain when I stand up but my belly is already notcibly smaller so I am definetely on the road to a successful recovery.
