JIllette reacted to cantwaittolose in 1 year and could NOT be HAPPIER!
I love myself again, that's as plain and simple as I can say it! August 2nd was my 1 year mark and I am down 138 pounds as of this morning. LIFE IS GOOD! I'd like to lose another 40-50 pounds to really get the results I want. The sleeve was the tool I needed so desparately and it has worked just as I hoped it would. I got my life back. I got me back. I am happy again. I am full of life again.
There are SOOO many positive things to list. I couldn't even fathom that I would be this happy a year ago. Yea, I thought I'd lose weight, but in the back of all our minds we are still self-doubting, self-sabotaging, etc., etc., etc. but I really didn't think I would end up here. I am training for a half marathon (walking), I do paddle boarding, I am DATING (miracle!), I am active with my kids, my friends (I actually WANT to go out!) my family. I just have fun in life again. The Sleeve was my life saver and I would do it a million times over in a heart beat.
To anyone struggling, just know that each day gets better. I do feel very lucky in that I have not had any side effects, I eat what I want and never feel deprived - YES I eat better than I ever have, but it's because of this tool.
I hope everyone has had the success that I have had. Lots of love and support to all my sisters out there (and brothers!)!!!!
The Sleeve ROCKS!!!!
(see my before below!)

I had my surgery on July 24 th so I'm feeling good and today I started exercising...I've been feeling so good that I've been eating soft food and protein... I only take a few bites and I know I may not be ready for it but I'm doing good otherwise....I'm listening to my body and eating slow and some things are uncomfortable to eat so I stop immediately....I'm on the third week of recovery.... I'm trusting my body will tell me otherwise RIGHT?

Mine is health reasons I have been diabetic since I was 17 years old and was overweight in high school. My mother was overweight for many years with diabetes and suffered many complications she did lose the weight when she was ill. I lost her to diabetes in 1997 and I still miss her to this day she was the best mother one can have. I now have a 13 year old with special needs who needs me to be healthy for her. I always put myself last and fall apart during times of stress and feel i am the support for others and not on the recieving end at times, maybe because I am a Social Worker. I was told by my doctor that if I do not lose the weight and get a grip on my diabetes I am 5 years away from complications so i have to put myself first and get healthy.
I too have been through the humilitation of not fitting in certain booths at resteraunts. At my child's meet the teachers night I could not sit behind the desks like they wanted us parents to I had to kneel in the chair hoping they would not notice.

I went into a boutique store the other day- I was looking for a dress to wear out. I picked a large off the rack- it was too big! Best I've felt shopping ever. I happily went and got my medium and bought that thing! Only to discover it was on clearance and hasn't been marked and well- all clearance was an extra 30% off! $80 dress for $16- yes please!

I lost a bit of weight a few years ago and then gained it all back...
But I kept all the cute clothes I bought and soon I will be able to shop from my own closet!!
I'm serious! Some of these things still have tags on them as they were my "inspirational outfit"
I can't wait to fit into them and then to donate them to the woman's shelter because they will be too big!!

Who all is on their liquid diet? I started mine Monday, I could have waited till today to start it, but my son is gone to camp till tomorrow, so I thought it would be easier to start it when he wasnt home and I wasnt having to cook for him. It has worked out great. I was told if you can make it thru day3 or 4, you were good. So far, so good! I can only have Clear Liquids, broth, tea or coffee with sugar free sweetener, SF popsicles, SF Jello and 1-3 Protein Drinks (EAS AdvantEDGE brand only). Then on the day before, I can only have clear liquids and have to do a colon cleanse.. Fun day that will be....lol

Baby steps. Take more time to get to know him. Watch & listen to his comments about how folks look. If he should make a comment about someone else's body image, use that as an opportunity to open a dialogue & feel him out.

I am up getting ready to go to the hospital. My diabetes is my major worry all day yesterday praying not to get low blood sugar and could not take my insulin so had to be concerned with high blood sugar. As it turned out I stayed normal to little higher but not dangerous levels. Diabetics heal slower so I packed for a few days in case. Wish me luck I am at 9:00 AM
