I'm sort of in love with not explaining things to people who don't have a need to know, and just with not telling personal info of any kind. So I'm not a tell-er in general LOL. No regrets on that one.

Hi everyone! I had surgery on the 16th! I am doing really well just having a little gas. I'm also a little tired. I keep taking naps. liquids are going down ok. I'm ready for the future. I pray that the other 16th sleevers had much success as well. Keep us posted!

I been sleeved just over 5 months and no Hair loss. Because my hair is so thick I told myself not to worry. I do keep it braided and haven't had a perm in years. But in between braids no extra shedding. So I agree it's about the Protein. I get my 75 grams in 95 % of the time.
Great news at docs today, I past the 50 lb mark and into onderland! Total loss 69 lbs. Praise God for strength and perseverance!
    Hope this inspires someone

OK , let me see if I've got this right, you talk to people with such a superior smart alec attitude because you're really so concerned and are just doing it out of love? You question my motive for calling your tone condescending and you think people are looking for some sort of massage therapy from you. Well Mr. PdxMan we all have our issues and we don't need you to come around peddling your self-righteous psychobabble, so go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Just got rid of the last few things I was hanging on to. I barely have anything left! My husband helped me load it all into bags. As I was throwing away a hoodie I had always worn, my husband asked why I was throwing it away when I loved it so much. It made me cry to tell him that I hadn't really loved it, I had pretend that I did with the majority of my clothes because I am young and want to look unique in my clothing choice, but my size wouldn't allow it. The hoodie I got rid of was a men's 4x. I do have a fun sense of style but I have never been able to show it before. I'm not all the way there, but I am a heck of a lot closer than I was before! Oh and I got rid of all those hangers that had the sizes on them. No more 26/28 for me! So now my closet is so empty, but I am hesitant to get things that I will get too small for... What a fabulous problem! I am 5.5 months out. I have lost 100 pounds. I never thought I would ever be where I am today. I am so grateful for this surgery, and all the people who supported me. I hope all is well with everyone else!

Set the goal you want. As you get close, you'll find the balance between food and activity and through them, a good weight. Then adjust your goal.. Weight is not first. A new relationship with food and activity is first. (IMHO)

@ Roxia in general, people are not comfortable with change. When we make changes to ourselves (especially for the better), it makes others uncomfortable, and brings up their own feelings and issues that they are forced to deal with, and unfortunately, sometimes they direct it at us. You must realize it's their problem...NOT YOURS. Realizing it is the way to let go... Then, just take care of you.
My husband was scared too. He said " I am afraid to lose you during surgery..." I just looked at him, and I said "you will lose me if I don't do this". And I truly felt that way.
Be strong. It's not a cake walk the first few days, but it is not something you can't do. Being heavy is not aa cake walk either, and we have all done that, now lets get healthy!

Today Im been sleeved for a week. I cant believe how easy this has been. I was really sick for the 10 months before my surgery so I was already used to smaller meals. Of course they were still bigger then what I can do now. Where is what my doc wants me to get in every day, 2 Protein Shakes, 64oz water/sf drink, 3 1/4c meals and of course 30 min of walking. Plus 2 Flintstones, 2 Iron, and my normal pills. After the 4th day I have been able to get everything in. I have also been able to sleep on my side since day 3.
Im just amazed how my body had bounced back from a major surgery. I thank God for that.

Some of us see past the material things, and even the physical, to the person inside. Brains, sense of humor, similar morals - that's the important stuff. The rest is transient 'gravy'.

Walked into my best friends sons birthday party today..she says loudly "can you still eat food cuz there's tons of pizza!?" Then explains to everyone soon ill be going in a liquid diet for my bariatric surgery. Lots of awkward silence followed, with one particular cute but chunky girl looking extra horrified. I was pissed that my friend put me on the spot. But then..
Aforementioned cute chunky girl stares at the cake. She wants some so badly. My friend tells her just eat a damn piece of cake. She declines. Stares at the cake for an hour. She can't have any cuz she's on a diet. Another hour passes. Shes shaking she wants it so bad.She eats a small piece of cake. And then a big one. And then 4 slices of pizza and bread and pop. My friend says "dont come crying to me when the scale pisses you off Monday." Cute chunky girl says "I know but I have to start all over Monday anyway cuz tomorrow is Joe's Crab Shack and I'm not dieting there."
Ah. It hits me. This is why I'm doing it. I want to hug her and tell her I know. I've had so many start over Mondays, sister. I was once the cute chunky girl with 40 lbs to lose. I've dieted my way up to the morbidly obese girl with an extremely messed up relationship with food.< /p>

I found out the past few days why I haven't told to many people. I actually had someone whom I thought was a big help for me in the past tell me, I was taking the easy way out. I about wanted to burst into tears. I held them back & said, you obviously have no idea what this is... Now my decision is solid. No one else will no. I don't need that in my life, it's part of why I am the way I am, I don't need approval from anyone, this is my life & I'm taking it back for me.

good morning all. today is my 5th day post op I refuse to weigh myself. one of my friends don't do it because it will discourage you. I have tried on a few of my clothes. some are a little loose which is how I intend to gauge my weight loss at least for a while. we all have to remember despite the pain and lack of weight loss in the first few weeks, remember it took us more than a few weeks to gain all the weight, it's going to take more than a few weeks lose it, everyone is different. I have been focusing on the long term goal. everyone that I've seen 6 months to a year out looks fabulous now , so I know that it's going to take more in a few weeks to get to my goal. my friends....be patient you've already made the first step, continue to do what the doctor said, work along with it and you will see results in the end. ................ think positive!!!!!!!!!
