    Hello,
I was sleeved on the 30th too. I lost 24.5 pounds two week post op. I've been stalled for a week. Looking for suggestions???

Its good to hear updates. I am doing pretty good. I went back to work today and am kind of soar. I've had to take Tylenol 3 times today and I was down to once a day and sometimes not at all. I have a desk job so certainly don't overdo anything so not sure why the pain was up today. I did get sick after eating tonight. I think it was because I ate too fast. Overall though I can't complain, I am feeling pretty ok. 3 weeks down! Great job everyone!

OK, people. I know we are all used to having me be the fattest one in the group, but times have changed and you HAVE TO GET OVER IT!!!
For those of you who now outweigh me, Yes, I do weigh less than you now. And I'm taller than you so my BMI is lower, but we won't talk about that. Please pull your face back into a look that approaches normalcy. I promise I will never bring up my weight or yours. I did this for my health, not so I could lord it over those who are still struggling with weight. I realize you have spent years patting yourself on the back because you are not as big as me, but those days are past. Pull up your big person panties and move on.
And for many others, yes, my goal weight is less than what you currently weigh. No, I will not be anorexic at a healthy BMI of 22. Please don't compulsively ask how much I now weigh each time you see me and then calculate how much I have to lose before I weigh less than you. Please see the notes above for how I prefer you to handle this brave new world.
    Best wishes,
    Lynda

While we're on this topic can we have a quiet chat about they're (they are), there (a place or direction), their (belonging to a person), where (a place or time), we're (we are) and were (reference to a past tense event).
    That's all I'm saying.

LOSE is the word to use when you are trying to LOSE weight.
LOOSE is the word to use when your clothes are getting LOOSE while you are losing weight.
LOSING is the word to use when you are in the process of LOSING weight.
LOSER is the word to use when you think you are a slow LOSER.
LOOSER is the word to use when your pants are LOOSER than they were before you lost weight.
No, I am not the grammar police. Yes, you can search my posts and I am sure you will find many grammar errors.
Seriously, this is a weight loss forum and it drives me crazy when people do not know the difference between lose and loose.
    Ok, my rant is over...

I must be fortunate enough to live in a world of rainbows and unicorns! I've never once thought of this forum in this manner nor have I ever felt "judged, ridiculed, discriminated against, our spirits crushed because of our (my) weight".
On a happier note, I went to a consignment store today and bought 4 pairs of size 14 capris and 5 size large tops today. I also weighed in at 197.5 at my three month follow up today, 2 pounds less than my home scale and I was fully dressed instead of buck nekky. WOOOT WOOOT!!
Oh sorry...got side tracked by my skittle pooping ponies.

I feel like posts like this only stir the pot and invite drama, even if they're not meant to. By saying there are certain people who are judgmental/harsh on certain occasions, but then not providing examples, it just creates more confusion—who does she mean? What post is she referring to? Could it be ME? I'm not saying that there aren't people on this site that seem to be quick to jump in and offer their (strong) opinions readily. That absolutely happens, and in the short few months I have been a part of this site, I already know whose opinions to take with a grain of salt. It's a personal thing, of course.
I totally understand that some people can be a bit harsh and that WLS is a very emotional process for all of us here, and we should be respectful of that and craft our responses with care and consideration of the feelings of others. However, I for one don't particularly have much sympathy for people who pop on and start posts about how they're cheating on their pre-op diet (you have your instructions, and those instructions need to be followed for your own health and safety) or people who complain because they're feeling pain after eating Flamin' Hot Cheetos 5 days post-op (come on, really!?)
In most cases, I just tend to keep on scrollin'...or even better, I go over to the Recipe Sharing board which is SO MUCH FUN to browse and so very useful! (Um, I'm on Day 5 of 10 of my pre-op liquid diet...can you tell that I'm HUNGRY!? )

You should do what you are comfortable with. For me, I had nothing to hide. I don't care what people think or say. I'm 6 months out so people are noticing. I say, "I had weight-loss surgery; vertical sleeve. Best decision I ever made". With a big smile on my face.
I'm proud of myself and my decision. I'm proud of my progress and the changes I'm making in my life.
If you come out with it, you may find that after the initial talk, there will be much less talk. If people think you are hiding something, they will speculate and talk forever. And that may (or may not) weigh on you.
    Best of luck to you.

Thread is being closed... Reason, well, Laura-Ven already posted our rules. In addition, at the very top of this forum is a sticky warning members to not create threads solely for the purpose of ranting about our members.
If woman are posting in the Men's Room, and it is reported, I do address it. I can't be everywhere at once, which is why we count on our members to notify us of these issues.

I don't mind your rant. Heck, I rant a lot in this here trailer court that my double-wide sits on.
I don't mind answering the same questions a multitude of times. It is a challenge for me to answer in a different way, use some humor, and be nice at the same time. Maybe that's why I am #3 in reputation points out of over 65,000 members.
Or it could be because of my stunning face...or the payoff...not sure..

JustinNC congrats on losing 112 lbs!!!!
    Terrific!!!
i am 19 month post op - at goal
I "respectively" disagree with your post
sometimes - it does get tiring hearing all the "redundant" questions concerning stalls, bowel movements, vomitting, et al
many people skip over the topic headings of "stall", vomitting, et al
    thats ok and understandable
some/many silly people asking "hmmmm, its day two, and i just had 3 slices of pizza, is that ok???"
they know its not ok!!!! "what kindof silly newly sleeved person would do such a thing???
People can/and should search certain words/problems
but - i think they need/want someone to talk to, reassuring they will be ok
they can't "hear" a book - or the search area
sure its crazy that they ate that pizza, they are aware of that, NEWBIES are people too!!!!
the mistake is done and over with - they just want to hear from others they "still will live"
there are people that might "yell" in essence saying how stupid are you???
    what good does that do????
    BUT...............
    I remember when i was a newbie
i was thankful that these questions were being asked and answered!!!!
to many OP (me included) you/I appreciate a direct response to my own personal question
you feel like someone is in the next room - being concerned/talking to you - trying to help you/me
we are here to support each other
thats the name of the game
but i sometimes feel like "we/me are paying it forward" - helping other newbies et al - "they" were there when i needed them
    to all newbies and OP
go ahead - ask your questions!!!!
    we're here for you, regardless............
but..........please don't eat that pizza yet
    kathy

The dots or pips are based on the number of posts you have. Here's a list of our Member Titles/Ranks:

We've been crystal clear that we do not allow topics created with the purpose to Rant and Rave about members. What exactly is so difficult to understand about this concept ? Susan isn't picking on anyone whatsoever and I'm getting a little tired with all the whining as of late
I would allow a total free for all in the R&R forum or across the entire forum for that matter....if we were an automobile forum. We happen to be a forum for people where a majority of them have been bullied, physically abused or sexually abused. I'm sorry but we're not going to help perpetuate the name calling, nastiness and hate.
