Okay I have a fitbit that tracks my movements through out the day. I had surgery on Nov 25 so tonight I decided to see exactly how things are looking. I realized for the month of January I moved 3/4 of a mile a day more than I did in the month of December that is 22 more miles for the month of January and they had the same number of days in them. I am not by any means a walking or running queen we are still looking at really low numbers but I am really proud that I am moving more.

I was luckily enough that I knew who my surgeon was so when they made my appointment they also got me an appointment the same afternoon with the dr who was doing the endoscopy. I was scheduled the very next morning to have the endoscopy and my surgery was the very next Monday. Best of luck to you.

Had my surgery yesterday and have started roaming the halls. Looks like I will get to go home tomorrow. No more sore than any other surgery I have had.

You're right. Depending on what support you're looking for this site can be either good or bad for us.
For me, I need the slap in the face, tear me apart reality that slipping up is not an option.
People need to realize that sure eating like you did before might be working now, but it's not going to work down the road and it's going to lead right back to pre-op stats/issues.
I firmly believe our wls will only be long term effective if we take advantage of it and change our eating ways while it's easier in the beginning.

Laura - those posts you just posted make me feel sick. These people obviously missed the entire point of the surgery. It makes me sad to read stuff like that on here... when people post it, it seems like they want to have their bad actions validated and have someone tell them, "It's OK. We all make mistakes." We do all make mistakes, but 15 days out of surgery having a burger? Really? You could justify yourself back to your starting weight and all of the pain and money would be for nothing. This has to be a life-altering, life-long commitment.

Hello all. My name is Caroline from Memphis. I have three grown children and two of them are considering having babies. I have to get in shape! I've been steadily gaining weight for about 20 years. I'm 5'3", 263 lbs. I start pre-op diet Friday and surgery is scheduled 11/22.
I'm so tired of being tired, my knees hurt all the time, acid reflux stinks, COPD and asthma are worse with weight gain, depression is worse, on days off I just want to sleep. Something very strange...since I got my surgery date I've realized how weight gain has affected my life for so many years. It's been very depressing. I want to be able to put socks and shoes on without huffing and puffing.
I'm glad to have found this group and the segment for 50 and over. I look forward to starting my journey!

welcome to the fifties! I turned 54 in August and was sleeved LAST November. It was a great decision for me and no regrets. I think the Aug./Nov. Combo must be a lucky one! Here's my before and after pictures just to give you a taste of what's ahead of you. Keep us posted on your progress.

Well, I tried to end it anyway. Atheists are determined campaigners. They are passionate about saving you from yourself and a non-existent God so you can live your life free from religious restraint and look forward to an eternity of oblivion. Either that or they are trying to convince themselves against their own conscience.
Since our lives have no eternal meaning and we are but conglomerations of chemicals why bother? Why not leave everyone alone? There is no such thing as moral superiority since morals are but electrochemical responses. Mass murder is no more abhorrent than squashing a fly hence the 100+ million executions under it's influence. Atheism offers a world of nothingness and futility. Live, die, rot, forgotten, oblivion. If all of that is true, so be it. It is not.
I did not create God. I met Him. I talk to Him, He talks to me. From the depths of my being I know Him, enjoy Him, and feel His joy toward me. I am either nuts or greatly blessed. I am not ashamed. He is real.
Atheists love to stand aloof and tell us about Christianity. They love quoting the bible they don't believe in. It is a book that requires a guide, The Holy Spirit. Rejecting Him, they go it on their own, never getting the picture. They wrest the scriptures to their own destruction. God hides Himself from smart asses.
I no longer have the patience that I used to have. I am sorry.
Now, my contribution to this exercise in futilty is over. I have unfollowed this topic. Release the war dogs.
Let time get the final word.

I'm not offended by a religious post...this is the "talk lounge forum"...where discussions of any type can take place.
What does offend me is the "send to 14 friends in 10 minutes" part.
What? God has a timer and friend quota on blessings???
